At my work we order at least once a week - on either Wednesday or Friday. We all get burritos. Mine is always chorizo. So good. As far as drinks, they offer several soft drinks, or tea, or lemonade. I haven't checked, but I am pretty sure they might also have horchata. Basic bench seating inside with some cool murals and artwork make it a nice location to eat in, but with work so close I usually get my orders to go and eat in my office. Im so sorry, but I called in and ordered, and I'm needing to just pay and grab it" The lady standing at the register (shorter woman with a black bob) rolls her eyes and keeps saying they're closed. (It was about 10:51, me paying would've taken a minute max). I looked at my phone and held it up, then told her it was only 10:51, and that I was just quickly needing to grab and pay for my order. She then rolls her eyes once more and starts laughing with the cooks in the back, I tap politely again and point to my food sitting on the counter next to her, and hold up my card to let her know I'm just needing to pay. She ignores me once more and returns to giggling with the cooks. By then I'm very upset and the girl hormones are getting to me, so I return to my boyfriend's truck with teary eyes and explain what happened. I ask him if he can give it a try, and as soon as he approaches the door he is let in and able to grab our food. Usually this wouldn't phase me but I feel this may have a slight tinge of racism attached. I myself and am a light-skinned black female, whereas my boyfriend is a white male. We both were very polite and both got very different reactions. I love Los Favoritos so much, and the food is always amazing quality! However this is the only one in phoenix, so it makes me sad that this is how I was treated. My mother always taught me forgive and forget, which I will, and I will continue coming to this location, but I do hope this will bring awareness to the way some staff is choosing to treat customers.
