We ordered the the 12 piece dinner as you can see in the photo of their not updated website menu. It says that you get 12 chicken strips, 4 rolls, 1 family sized side and one pint size side. I ordered this meal, plus: As follows 12 Strips The family size and pint mashed potatoes with the gravy on the side. 2 extra pint sized sides: baked beans and coleslaw. Sides of honey mustard dips. My husband got home with our food we unpacked it and for the third time we had no coleslaw. So he grabbed the receipt and went back. I noticed that we didn't got our bread either. So I called ahead to let them know of the missing items. The young person that answered the phone first told me that bread is no longer included as part of the order. They no longer carry bread, they have biscuits and if you want those they are one of your sides or xtra money. ( go online and update your menu!) then she added that it was policy that if he didn't arrive at country school with the bag of food purchased with him, that they would not give us the coleslaw. I was flabbergasted. Two other times we went in with the receipt no food and were given the slaw. Not Today! She went on to tell me that for the inconvenience for having to come back for the coleslaw it was their policy to remake the entire order. I am sorry this does not make any sense to me. You will remake me a whole new $44 order to replace my $2 pint of coleslaw that you charged me $5.29? During my call I went back to the website to re-check the rolls, and if it said anything's it said anything about bringing back the entire order to prove missing items. I did call back to talk to the manager. Waste of time. I will call and talk to the owners son tomorrow and up-date after the call. It may make or break if we ever go back to to country school again. As my son said. Thank goodness there is two other places in town that have very good fried chicken. We just wish they sold it family style!

Likewise, instead of "would you like a receipt at all today?" might be better communicated as, "receipt?" again with eye contact. Maybe forbid them from adding the nonsensical, at all, or, today, to any sentence. And, maybe most of all, "have a nice rest of your day," is just word salad. How about, "thank you," instead? Okay, that's not something that happens just here, and maybe I'm just a mastodon longing for archaic civility and what matters to most people is that the place is clean, the food is served hot, and the frozen custard sundaes are tasty.

Other than having to deal with a freight train that stopped on the tracks right as we were trying to get to the restaurant from the theater, and having to go way out to the west end of town to get around it, everything about our experience was superb! I'm pretty sure we were seated by the owner, who was amazing to talk to. You could tell she loved what she did and what they provide to their customers. She put us in the charge of the bartender, who brought our drinks, took our orders, and checked on us regularly throughout the meal, even though she was doing double duty. We had a large lunch, so we weren't going to eat much for dinner. As soon as I read the menu I realized I was going to have a hard time deciding, but I love cinnamon ice cream, so I knew I needed to leave enough room for dessert. I ended up ordering the grilled cheese, which came with bacon (hold the tomato), and the homemade chips as my side. Everything was delicious. I brought half of my meal home, and it was just as delicious when reheated with my air fryer a few days later. My husband had the Acres Pretzel, which was huge and yummy. (I had a bite to try it!) The cheese sauce with it was thinner than expected, but very good. We started out with a Manhattan for me and some Lena Brewing caramel pecan coffee stout for him. Mine was perfectly crafted, and I took a sip of his, which was also yummy. In addition to my cinnamon ice cream, we each had a dessert drink. He had the Chocolate Caramel Kiss, and I had the Banana Bread. Again, very yummy. The cost of all of this came to under $75, which we thought was marvelous. Coming out from the city, the prices here are definitely more reasonable and much appreciated! We have this restaurant on our radar now, so anytime we are out this way again, we will head there.
