We walked to the counter and paid for our buffet. It is very spacious and strategically placed to make it seem bigger than it is as well as flow of traffic. The buffet was nicely placed to give everyone an equal running start for the next pie to be laid to rest on the warmers. It was quite literally a mad dash to the next piece. The staff were very attentive and came to our table and asked if we would like anything specific. Of coarse, we obliged. Mushrooms! Great fun, great laughs, great company, paired with great food, made an epic lunch date. The location is convenient. The prices are comparable, and the customer service was impeccable. My son and I went there today after a long day of running errands to treat ourselves to a sweet ice cream treat before we went home. Round about the time that we got our ice cream (1 delicious scoop of salted caramel for me and 1 decadent Dutch chocolate milkshake for him) The Candy Shoppe next door opened. We had time to burn, so we decided to explore. Oh my STARS!!! As if the The Shoppe Ice Cream and More wasn't good enough, The Candy Shoppe (which is only open on Saturdays and Sundays) was a sight to behold. It was like stepping back in time to the candy stores from my youth and then some! Jars of candy filled the walls with everything from jellybeans in a variety of flavors, to gummy's in a variety of shapes (who knew that there were Lego and Army man gummy's) to dark chocolate covered almonds and crème brûlée malt balls...and that's not even scratching the surface! Willy Wonka, you've got nothing on The Candy Shoppe!!! We spent a good 20 minutes inside The Candy Shoppe exploring, and had we not had groceries in the back of the family truckster, we would have stayed longer. Both shops are family friendly, the employees who work there are spectacular, and the offerings are delicious! **Also, as an aside, check out the wall off coffee mugs inside The Ice Cream and More Shoppe. They are GOLD, and if you're anything like me, you'll find yourself laughing out loud as you read through them while you're waiting to place your order. My family is so grateful that these businesses have opened in our small town. The family who operates these businesses is purposefully creating a wholesome Main Street, small town feel which has been desperately lacking in our community.
