The layout seemed odd, the HVAC definitely needs work, the Name is questionable at best we were told by a local it was "Shades of Brown" not a good name for a restaurant if you use your imagination. Our drink order was well, well, very well taken care of. The food however was terrible and overpriced and trying to find parking...... well Middlesboro, do better. The steak tasted of expired meat and shoe leather. The chicken may have been plastic. The food was awful, we had heard so much hype of how great it was, and well it wasn't. I want to again commend the wait staff for their hard work and efforts, but this place needs a real cook. Sounded to us like it has too many bosses and no one knows who's in charge.

If you told me they have a bunch of senior citizens with dementia behind the counter then I would believe you. Once again I would like to reiterate that Wendy's is horrible at keeping orders straight. If I had a dollar for every time Wendy's got a order wrong I would have more Money than the cashier could count because the it takes the cashier 20 minutes to found 10 dollars ( I paid in 5s) Also they had a hepatitis outbreak in 2020 because everyone that works there is so filthy. To lighten the mood I've included a picture of my cat.

Patient with me when asking what was on different burgers. Good appearance at the window and again solid customer service. Strange would be that years ago, a prior review mentioned they wouldn't accept the 20 because they only had ones and today I paid with a 20 and was told they only have ones do I have anything smaller. Wondering if this location really doesn't like $20 bills Cleanliness: surrounding parking lot and drive-through menu is pristine. Looking in the window at the pick up window, that has to be the cleanest floor I have ever seen in a fast food place. Health department score is an A. Food: once again, cold fries, and Middlesborough strikes. I'm serious. What's going on with this town? My burger was hot and the toppings and bun were at peak freshness. That said I did not enjoy the burger patty. It reminds me of the flame broiled conveyor belt of another fast food establishment. So if this is your taste, it was a perfect burger. Cherry lemonade was heavy on the cherry syrup. Overall, if I'd gotten hot fries, I'd come back for the chicken.

We came back ... of course we did!!…read more Our Red Bird Mission Team was back in Kentucky in early July and we kept talking about Mexican night. We had a couple of new comers in our group who noticed the pure joy in our voices as we talked about El Mariachi's food especially the Chicken Soup! Once again an absolute five star experience beginning with top notch service (I know a few of our group are picky when they eat out and quick to complain but they loved the service here!)! The dining area is attractive and fun plus spotlessly clean! Chips and a really good salsa were delivered immediately! I asked for some salsa verde and that was even better. Our group ordered a wide variety of menu items ... one guy ordered the incredibly large sampler platter. I went for the tamale, burrito and chicken soup! Ahhh all you need is the chicken soup (I actually went home to NJ determined to do my best to hack the soup it's sooo good and we live 10 hours away from El Mariachi's so it's hard to just stop by )! Once again it was a soup prepared by the angels!! We were all in agreement... incredibly delicious food, large portions and amazing prices. oh I almost forgot the needed margaritas!! We had had a hard day at work and we're thrilled with the huge drinks perfectly mixed and very inexpensive!! I am hoping we are going back to this mission next year ... if not I just might have to drive 10 hours for dinner at El Mariachi ... it's that good ... toss out the negative reviews ... these folks know what they are doing!!

Mixed review. Skip…read morethe guac and sour cream. Do order anything with the shredded chicken. Service is wonderful. Very attentive. Atmosphere. There is a very persistent cleaner smell. If you are sensitive to cleaner smells, it will interfere with your eating experience. So the great. Enchilada sauce is subtle and perfect. Best I've had in a while. Best chips in the area. Solid salsa- lil' kick and smooth. The shredded chicken is juicy, well seasoned and has been shredded with care. Haven't had a bad bite yet. The guacamole is some kind of slush that has the consistency of mushed peas. So watered down with something else, it ceases to taste anything like avocados. Same problem with the sour cream. It's either the quality or it's been cut with something to make it thinner. There is no tang that sour cream should have. All other sides so far, tomatoes, lettuce, beans and rice have been of the best quality. Best Mexican I have had in KY and TN so far. (40 mile area, tried 5 other establishments.)

One time I asked for cheese in a small cup for my nachos because they barely put any on there. Literally like 4 drops. The funny part is, the lady goes back to talk to ask the manager and then he comes out to tell me "next time it's 35 cents". I just said okay and walked away with my half filled cup of cheese. Another day, I ordered a mexican pizza. They probably put 4 pieces of beans on there. Like it was just two of those nacho circle things with no beans at all (not joking). I went and told the cashier and she looked at it and said sorry about that. And then asked if I'd like beans in a cup instead??? I said no, can you make another one? And then she went back to talk to the supervisor and she got the okay and I got another pizza. Yes they made me another pizza, but what if I was in the drive-thru and already home? This taco bell is okay. Could be better. Or maybe I just have a bad streak here.
