It does get busy at lunch so I recommend coming earlier or later rather than 12 noon. The owners and staff are wonderful. Always kind and courteous, and the establishment is always kept very clean. I ordered the regular, which came in a deep bowl but it wasn't filled so it's kind of a waste of space. However, it was very filling; I ate half and saved the rest for later. It was a good dish. Their online allergen guide graciously informs which items are vegan and/or gluten-free, as well what needs to be modified to make it so. The guide told me to remove the peanuts from the Thai Stir Fry dish to make it vegan. I don't know what they do to the nuts (butter maybe??) to make them non vegan. If this were in any other city I'd rate it a 3, but because it's Mason City, and the options are limited, they get brownie points. I would return.

It's very similar to the flavor of a jalapeño popper (without the bacon, cream cheese, or the heat). They have a modest sized parking lot that is a one-way. We sat at the bar and both had sandwiches. I ordered a burger but subbed out the beef patty for a chicken breast. The chicken breast was seasoned and juicy, but it actually made the American cheese on my sandwich a little too slippery. Better than the alternative, though! I would eat here again, but I might try something different next time.
