Took my vehicle in for an oil change, and they cracked my windshield. will not admit to the damage they did and essentially are trying to cover it up with excuses. Took my Outback for a simple belt & tensioner service as diagnosed by the Langley, BC Subaru dealership. Besides not having the tensioner in stock, with a 1 week delivery, the service rep made a point of telling me that if I booked to get this service done they would require an additional diagnostic service or the work would not be covered with a parts and labour warrantee. This is just another example of a dealership money grab! So, I voted with my feet and have scheduled my maintenance elsewhere where the previous Subaru diagnosis will be honored and the work backed up with a standard warrantee. Subaru Calgary (1100 Meridian Road NE) I've had nothing but issues with this dealership. I bought a brand new 2024 Crosstrek. I was told (by Paul Dimakis, the manager of the dealership) the tires on my current Forester would fit the Touring model but they did not. They forgot to order the body side molding for the car which meant another trip to the dealership for installation. The service technician tried to tell me they don't have wireless Android Auto in the car when it's literally stated on the website as a feature. I brought my Crosstrek in to install WINTER tires on it, instead they installed ALL SEASON (with no tread left) in a completely wrong size (215/45R17 when they manufacturer recommended is 225/60R17) - they looked like spare tires on the Crosstrek. Service department did not answer, so after 3 attempts, I left an urgent message for them to call me back. I didn't get a call back that day or the following day. It took yet another trip into Calgary (4 in total now) to get the proper tires put on the car - and they still had to keep the car overnight so another wasted day. Poor service all around. If you're in the market for a Subaru, go anywhere but here. On a side note, I do love the Crosstrek so there's a silver lining. read more

I would caution anyone to avoid this dealership after our nightmare experience. If your vehicle has an issue and you take it to this dealership to fix it (even if it's warranty issue), they will send you to Enterprise to rent a vehicle, and you'll be responsible for winter tires, even if you don't want or requested them, which may rack up a huge bill as your brand new Subaru car sits in the service waiting for parts and to be fixed. They will then claim they have no relationship with Enterprise, even though they sent you there to rent a vehicle in the first place. Very shady practice, please stay away to save yourself headache down the road. Management is very shady and avoiding any responsibility for keeping your brand new car for months, absolute incompetence on all levels. STAY AWAY from these fraudsters. read more

I went in for my 20K service on June 1. Upon getting back to the NW and stopping to fill up I noticed that there was a significant ding/chip in the drivers side rear door that went all the way down to the sheet metal. I called immediately snd spoke with my service advisor & then emailed her the pics. The service manager reached out... then he quit or got fired. I reached out and spoke to the new service manager. Then drove back out to speak with him in person and show him the damage.... It's almost October and they've just straight ghosted me and apparently have no intention to fix they damage their shop caused. UPDATE!!!!! After my review and multiple calls to Subaru Canada the service manager called me at the beginning of October. He said the'd get it taken care of after Thanksgiving........ Haven't heard from him since. It's December 11th so I guess technically he didn't lie.... BUT NOTHING YET UPDATE #2.. Crickets... My 2019 Outback is burning oil and they said triggering your oil sensor between every service is normal. Their staff tried to gaslight me into thinking this is normal. I get white smoke out my tail pipe and still nothing. Car is only a few years old and under warranty... I'll be able to start the next Saudi golden age if I burn oil like this. read more

Our family has a 2015 Subaru Forester. It was maintained at this dealership. They chose not to perform a service bulletin recommended by Subaru corporate while the car was under warranty. This repair would have cost us nothing. It would have cost Subaru less than $200. Due Subaru Calgary not doing the repair they now want $1500 to fix a problem that would not have happened if they had performed the service Bulletin. Subaru corporation had warranty codes for them to charge for this repair. So why would they not do it. ?? Could it be they were waiting for it to fail after warranty Just to make $1500 and anger a person who bought two Subaru. If they will treat repeat customers this way what can you expect them to do for you ? Buy and service your Subaru at a different dealer. read more

Went to go purchase or order a WRX from this dealership. Their prices were ~3000 over MRSP and printed on a random piece of paper. We looked into ordering a 2023 WRX 10 weeks away from arriving and they demanded we put down an $1000 non-refundable deposit. Furthermore, they said they would call us with an esitmate on our trade in, and never got back to us. Very dodgy practices preying on vulnerable people trying to buy a car. I'm originally from Seattle where Subaru vehicles are ubiquitous and there are a number of great dealerships to visit. Here in Calgary I was a bit disappointed by the lack of competition and the poor customer service from the two dealership choices (Subaru Calgary and Centaur). I write this after the purchase process and six-month ownership of a new 2018 Crosstrek from Subaru Calgary. I knew the vehicle I wanted to buy, cross-shopped with dealers throughout the province. I eventually decided on Subaru Calgary over Centaur, as the latter had openly lied to me during the negotiation process. I test drove and then purchased the vehicle in cash from Ivan Tjan (though he appears to no longer work at the dealership), so there wasn't much Subaru Calgary needed to do for the sale. Price negotiation was fair and the dealer included some extra accessories. So, all in all, the buying process was great. Unfortunately, once the deposit was in hand, I felt that all the customer service went out the window. Here are a few highlights (or lowlights?) from my experience: 1.) Vehicle "On-Order" They didn't have the exterior/interior color combo I wanted, so the vehicle had to be "located" and procured. There was a general lack of communication about how long this would take. I was initially told one-month for the vehicle to arrive which later slipped to "several months," as the vehicle was now on a boat from Japan. There was no communication during this interim. In the end, the vehicle was secured from a dealership in Richmond, BC and arrived in around one month. 2.) No Communication As mentioned, in general the communication from Ivan, the sales managers, and the finance dept left a lot to be desired. I would repeatedly call to get updates on the vehicle and my calls would never be returned. Every time I received a message back it was from a different salesman I had never heard from before. I received a call out of the blue that said "come pick up your car" with no advance warning. Luckily it was the weekend so I was off work and could visit the bank to finalize the purchase. 3.) Delivery / Pick-up My car arrived dirty with blue goop on the wheels and seats. The vehicle was shoddily washed and detailed. Someone lodged adhesive paper between the infotainment screen and the air vent that I had to later have removed by the service department. The leather seats were streaked with cleaner and the steering wheel had loose threads abound. They had installed the wrong accessory on my car (rear bumper guard) and didn't have the actual accessory in stock that I had paid for (rear seat back protectors). The entire pick-up process felt rushed and unprofessional. Vehicle features weren't adequately explained to me and finance tried to last minute bundle in their own extended care package lwithout advising me as to what I was paying for. 4.) Service I haven't had the first service yet as the vehicle is too new. I had to return to the service department for the rear-back seat protectors once they were in stock. Again, it was only by calling in myself that I even found out my part had arrived. The techs didn't install them properly either and I had to redo the job at home. I've tried to buy touch-up paint from them and that also needed to be ordered. What's the point of visiting the dealer if they don't even have parts and accessories for new cars in stock? I came back a separate time for an intermittent engine ignition issue and the techs said they couldn't observe or diagnose the problem. So, I was told to tow the car to the dealer when/if it dies so they could actually observe the issues. This seemed like such bizarre advice for a new vehicle under warranty. I have discussed some of these grievances with the sales manager (yet another man I had never heard from during the purchase process--seriously is there a revolving door at this dealership?). He has been understanding and receptive over email. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this dealership. I like my car and Ivan and the initial test drive and purchase process was smooth. However, the delivery, pick-up, and post-purchase service and communication needs some major work. When you're spending over 30K for a car, you expect more professionalism and service. read more

I recently purchased a new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek after absolutely falling in love with the vehicle! Travis Westin was the Sales Associate that dealt with us and he was extremely professional, knowledgeable and personable. Our initial interaction was when my family and I walked in pretty close to closing time on a weeknight after having a negative experience at Sunridge Nissan. Travis quickly came to help us, provided us with tons of information and took us out for a test drive even though it was already late (and super snowy!!). From that first interaction we were very impressed and knew we were in good hands. He really made an effort to make sure the entire process of purchasing my second ever vehicle went smoothly. The Sales Manager, Ken Woo, was also delightful and really accommodated to all of our requests! He kept checking in throughout the process to ensure things were going well. Anytime I was at the dealership I noticed he was extremely involved with both customers and his staff which was nice to see. Towards the end of the process we had a few less than favourable experience with the Finance Manager there which ultimately resulted in me becoming extremely upset..thankfully Travis was really great and tried to lighten the mood and alleviate the conflict. I highly recommend dealing with Travis if you are looking for a new or used Subaru - you won't be disappointed! Reception staff are very nice and professional. Wish I could say the same for others. Brought my car in for a Recall. Appointment was for 6:30AM, so I dropped it off around 3:00PM the day before. Received a call at 10:53AM the next day from "Michael" saying they had just checked the vehicle over and it needed power steering flush and a new rear wiper - they hadn't even started the work yet! Received confirmation the work was done at 4:49 PM. I said I would need the shuttle, but they stop at 5:00PM. He said "I'll have to figure something out for you" and I said "Fine let me know" I never received a call back. BTW, this was a Friday Evening and I did have plans. Next Morning I had to call them (yup, they still didn't call me back), at 9:30AM to request someone come and pick me up. I get to the dealership to pick up my car, and the engine shroud is missing! I know it was there before because I check after having ANY work done. I speak with "Michael" - although I didn't realize at the time he was the guy who had screwed me over the night before, and his response was "I don't know what happened to it". He makes a production out of going and speaking with the service tech and comes back and says "well they wouldn't have needed to raise the car so they wouldn't have taken it off" This turned out to be a lie. I checked the invoice after I got home and it turns out, they did an unrequested 30 point inspection and one of the things they do is to check Engine and Transmission for leaks - which can't be done without removing the shroud. So I called him back and quoted this to him and said the Engine shroud must be there somewhere and he chirps back with " oh well, I was JUST talking to the guy who did your service and he SWEARS that he didn't have to remove the engine shroud." Convenient that he had JUST spoken to the service technician, eh? At this point it dawns on me that this might have been the very guy I spoke with the day before and I ask him "are you the guy I was dealing with yesterday?" To which he replies "I might be". So I jog his memory by saying "The guy who was supposed to arrange transport so I could pick up my car?". At this point he realizes he's caught and admits it was him and trots out a rote and very insincere sounding apology and excuse "sorry, I got busy doing things and..." I was now furious, because the time to acknowledge his failure and apologize was when he was STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME EARLIER! I told him as much, said I had plans the previous evening, I'm sure I uttered a curse word or 2 and then HE HUNG UP ON ME! How unprofessional! So summarizing my experience with Subaru Calgary was this. Booked an appointment for a Mandatory Recall (BTW, had to book it in July for a November Appointment), Recall completed successfully. Received an unrequested 30 point inspection and lost a piece of my car as a result which Subaru denies having any part in and also had to wait 17 hours for their Shuttle Service to reunite me with my now lighter vehicle. I will NEVER step foot inside this buisiness again. read more

The worst dearship I have ever known. They will rip you off somehow. Charged me $800 to remove the dashboard to replace a indicator lamp. Did not have the lamp in stock so did not change. Still charged for taking the dash out. Did it my self in 20 min and $3.60 lamp from napa. Screwed up a engine gasket replacement twice second time over applied sealant. This blocked oil flow and destroyed engine. 6k for new engine ( elsewhere) 96k when first reported and "fixed" leaked worse than before their so called repair but could not fit me in to sort it for 5 months now 101,000km and they say it is out of warranty now. My wife and I purchased a 2020 Outback March of 2020. Positives; flexible on price and that has been the extent of it. I would not recommend this dealership for anyone who want or expects any lasting post purchase customer support. We have had nothing but frustrating experiences. They stained the privacy flap in the back with some sort of chemical. They told me to bring it in so they can clean it with a free detailing; managed to make the staining bigger and worse. We had the 2'' trailer hitch installed at purchase, they did a hack job of cutting the bumper cover around the hitch making it look like crap. I brought the issue up immediately and to this date of writing, February 11, 2022, have not replaced the bumper. We do not live in Calgary, we lived in Pincher Creek at the time, further now, so it is hard to make our way there. I sent pictures immediately and was assured the part would be ordered and installed at the first oil change. NOPE, forgot to order and install. Second attempt, at the second oil change, NOPE, ordered the piece but did not install because they forgot to add it to the work order. Third attempt at the third oil change (keep in mind I am driving over 600km round trip for these oil changes, with multiple calls with the service manager to make sure everything is ordered, in stock and ready) NOPE, they ordered the wrong part and was unable to install the part. I was told at this third failure that the service and parts managers would be figuring out what to do about this problem. Two months have passed since the third failure, I called a couple weeks after that to inquire, and no call back. I call again, finally get the service manager on the phone, and he has no idea what the problem is, has to check with the parts guys and tells me he will call back. This was two weeks ago with no call back. ALL in all, this dealership will ghost their responsibilities as soon as they have your money. They are incapable of handling any issues that come up. Lastly, their managers are incompetent and lack resolve to make you satisfied. read more

Initially gave them 1 star due to a bad sales rep. A friend of mine just put a down payment for a vehicle last week. This week she finds out that they made her purchase a used vehicle and not a brand new one, which was what she thought she was paying for. The sales rep did all the paperwork and brought it back and asked her to sign the bottom without reviewing the details. They gave her the impression that they were trying to get rid of the 2016 vehicles since the 2017 is coming out. She did not expect it to be a 2016 used vehicle. I changed the 1 star to 4 stars as the manager was able to fix the error caused by the sales rep. The manager was friendly. He remembered who we were and agreed that there was a 'miscommunication'. He was able to resolve it by finding us a brand new vehicle that was exactly the same as what was initially requested but not used. Thank you Ken! read more

Worst dealership I have ever dealt with. They had to replace our motor due to oil consumption, but also tried to upcharge us for parts that we did not need. They said we needed a new clutch - we purchased our new clutch, through them not 3 months before. Then they said we needed a new starter - when we dropped our car off it was towed as you could not turn it over. They wanted to charge us $260 for a new battery, when you can get one for around $100. And then when we picked it up they didn't even wash our car. So it sat in their service department and lot for 5 weeks with winter salt all over it. Won't be buying another Subaru ever. read more

This has been a stressful and horrible experience. My car died while driving and in order to move us out of traffic we had to know where to tow it. We decided to go to the Subaru dealer since our car is a Subaru and we didn't know what else to do. On the way I did a bit of research and asked some (far away) friends who are familiar with cars for advice and the resounding agreement was that it was the alternator. Subaru had our car for 3 days and after running a full and hugely expensive diagnostic, their incompetent tech, Matt told us it was our less than 1 year old battery. Since our battery was under a warranty we asked to keep it and for the privilege of keeping the battery we already owned, they charged us $15. Just around $400 later they told us the car was fixed, only 3 days after we brought it in. Less than 6 hours later, the car died again, however we hoped that something was just loose from the new battery. In the morning the car drove fine so my husband decided to try it and hope for the best since the outside temperature that day was freezing and we have no other car. The car died again stranding him in a very dangerous situation and forcing him to miss work. We had it towed back to our house and the very helpful and generous tow truck driver spent about 30 seconds with a voltmeter confirming that it was in fact the alternator. We re-phoned the dealership and decided to give them the opportunity to make it right. The manager who spoke to my husband was apparently polite and apologetic, however the tech who kept phoning, even after we asked him not to phone me as I was pregnant, home sick and sleeping (he woke me up twice) was consistently unhelpful. Additionally he was the reason the car was not fixed correctly the first time. The manager gave us a discount which made the total cost close to what it would have been if they had done it right the first time, however that in no way made up for the rudeness or cost on our time, the extra we paid the tow truck, the lost work hours not to mention the stress. In the end they had our only family car for close to 2 weeks and were only able to provide a shuttle for us to come and get it during regular work hours, which they were very rude about including twice when I phoned and was told someone would all me back and no one did. I would urge anyone considering dealing with Subaru Calgary for repairs, to go anywhere else. read more

Today I took my 2008 Subaru Outback in to have the airbag replaced under warranty. I was told it would be 2 hours. Ok, no problem, I'll wait. In at 9:30 out by noon. Well 7 hours later the car was finally done. Yes, I did ask what was going on and told oh it will be done soon. This is not the first time Subaru Calgary has wasted my time. I've been stranded by the shuttle twice. I could go on and on about Subaru Calgary wasting my time or the time they 'filled' an already full washer fluid tank and charged me $6.00. I love my Subaru and will probably buy another it's just unfortunate that this dealership, at least the service department, SUCKS. CONSUMERS BEWARE In the current Calgary economic climate, you would think that companies would be more honest and fair in its dealings with Calgarians. Not so for Subaru. Apparently price gouging and dishonesty is their motto across the board which is unfortunate and a message I intend to share vastly so no one encounters the same issue as myself. Part 1: We dropped off the car for an oil change and servicing this past Saturday. At 10:30AM they called to authorize that they could proceed with the $1200 D service and $475 for replacement of front and back brake pads. My boyfriend acquiesced and then thought it might be a good idea to check in with my brother, a technician at a very reputable German car dealership. After sending him all the components of a D service, he was flabbergasted as to why it would be $1200 and indicated this service is less than half the price at his company and then put me in touch with a licensed local autobody who had the same feedback. At 11:49 I called Subaru to tell them to stop the rest of the service and we would pay for what has already been done but didn't feel the cost was justified. No one was available, so a service manager called me back 5 minutes later. He seemed indignant that I would want to cancel and I explained that I didn't feel the service justified the cost and I was uncomfortable with the pricing. He said there was no way to stop because they were essentially finished the D service so I asked him for a breakdown of the costs. He said, "Well, it's $359 for the parts. They're OEM Subaru parts so yeah they're $359." To which I asked why the total cost for a D service is $1200 if the parts are only $359. He retorted that the labor accounts for the rest of the cost which was $841. When I questioned why labor would cost so much, he responded that it was a 5 hour charge for service. 5 HOUR CHARGE FOR THE ELAPSED 1.25 HOURS SINCE WE APPROVED THE WORK TO GO AHEAD AND WAS ALLEGEDLY ALMOST COMPLETED. So I pressed on and said it doesn't make sense that I as the consumer would be charged for 5 hours in what took 1.25 hour for them to complete. Annoyed, he told me our conversation wasn't going anywhere and he would transfer to me to the general manager. Part 2: I speak with Derek the general manager. He seems pleasant enough and I explain the situation to him, indicating it had only been 1.25 hours and questioning why the servicing would have a 5 hour labor charge of $841 when the servicing was almost complete in the 1.25 hour timeframe. He said he wasn't sure and this wasn't an issue he has had to deal with so he would investigate and also goes to mention that labor is charged at $124/hour. We wait. Derek calls us back about 20 minutes later and it is clear his tone has changed from pleasant to something a little less friendly. He now goes on to tell me that they've been working on the service for 2.5 hours which costs about $300, plus parts which comes to approximately $470. BUT wait, there is still another 2.5 hours of remaining D servicing to be done which includes replacing spark plugs and cabin filter which accounts for another several hundred dollars and then parts as well as some MISC charges which brings the total up to nearly $1200 after taxes. INSTEAD OF INVESTIGATING, DEREK FINDS MEANS OF JUSTIFYING THE OVERINFLATED PRICES SO THAT THEY CAN CONTINUE TO EXPLAIN THEIR PRICE GOUGING. At this point, I've had enough so I tell Derek to stop all of the D service (stop spark plugs and cabin filters) and only finish the replacement of the brake pads. He then goes onto threaten that I may lose warranties on my vehicle by going elsewhere (This is untrue, if an autobody is licensed and you can show proof of their work, it will not void warranties). However, he stops it and we are left with paying $470 for in reality 1.25 hours of work for inspections although they now claim this is 2.5 hours. In short after reviewing all of this with another company, for services rendered including parts it shouldn't cost more than $300 for the components of the D service they did. For the parts they didn't do, we were quoted under $500 from another autobody to complete the rest of the D service, bringing the approximate total of the D service to about $950 which is still $250 less than the originally quoted $1200. If we had gone with another company altogether, the D service would have cost at most $800. Rather than being an honest company, Subaru and it's staff intentionally sets out prices to prey on unassuming customers. Because we always brought our car to Subaru for servicing, we trusted them to be honest and thought the $1200 was a justified cost. It is VERY apparent that it is not, as indicated not only by another autobody, but by another dealership altogether. At least the team works with one another in cahoots to cheat its customers. The fact we completely love our car is the only reason I'm giving this dealership even two stars as the service we received when purchasing isn't worth a single star. Our sales guy and one of his bosses were misleading when it came to trying to work out a deal that included a trade-in. Best advice I can give: know exactly what you want when you go there and forget about trying to trade something in, unless you want to end up paying more for your new Subaru. If and when we buy another Subaru, we'll definitely be going to the other Subaru dealership in town. read more

Like a previous poster, we have been trying to get an Outback. Subaru Calgary said they could get us one in December, so we deposited $2000 in November. They said the car would arrive in December. In December they said that they had sold it to someone else. In early January and no car we asked for our deposit back. After weeks of back and forth they can't get us a car or evidence of a car with a firm arrival date. So after an additional 4 weeks of effort Subaru Calgary won't refund our deposit. Every time is a different story. Now they claim there was no written expiry date on the deposit (there WAS no written contract on the deposit, and they know that. Who draws up a written contract on a deposit?). They seem to think they can keep the deposit forever. Be very careful before putting any money down. read more

I purchased a 2013 Subaru Forster from this dealer. The experience after the purchase was one of the worst ever. Both Subaru Canada, and Subaru Calgary flat-out lied regarding the MPG of the vehicle - the details are straight-forward; Directly on Subaru Canada's website, it states the Forester 2.5XT Limited gets 26/35 MPG (City/Hwy), ...check it out! Over the course of the two years I owned the vehicle, the absolute best MPG experienced was 24 MPG, with an overall average of 19 MPG. A far cry from what is advertised. I have numerous documents and records supporting this - all of which were presented to both Subaru Canada, and Subaru Calgary. Their response to this deceit? Sorry, there's nothing we can do. I corresponded numerous times with Subaru Calgary's General Manager (you can find his name online). I even took my vehicle in for testing - what a joke. They stated they drove my car several kilometers and obtained a better MPG. Little did they know, I had installed a new Kenwood stereo with a Garmin GPS and re-set the data link, which records all of the activity of the car. The dealer drove my car at a top speed of 73 KM on the freeway. Who drives 73 KM on the freeway - you'd get a ticket for going this slow!! Again, what a deceitful tactic. I would never under any circumstances purchase another vehicle from this dealer. I took my vehicle in several times to Centaur Subaru, who were actually polite and apologetic for the problems I'd experienced, albeit, they couldn't do anything. BTW - I recorded my entire conversation with the General Manager at the dealership as well. I have all of the supporting documents/records, as the facts are black and white. End result of my meeting? He offered to take my car back on trade for another Subaru, at a a horrible loss - they wouldn't even give me fair market value for the vehicle with approx. 17,000 KM on it at the time. I'd communicated numerous times before this, and was told the vehicle's MPG would improve after the engine had broke in - which was absolutely NOT the case. Also, the General Manager stated I had NO recourse over the issue, as there was nothing I could do. Well, ....I can certainly write my experience, and inform everyone online. Subaru Calgary's General Manager was smug, and condescending, and I simply hope potential customers understand what they're in for if they have a problem with the dealer. I really liked driving my Subaru, however, happier that I've sold it, ...and moved on. I urge anyone thinking about purchasing a vehicle from Subaru Calgary, to think again. Read all of the reviews online - Subaru Calgary has less than desirable customer service. BTW - I drove my Forester to Colorado Springs, CO, and had the vehicle serviced at one of the world's largest Subaru dealership, Heuberger Motors. They were awesome! ...and the issue with the fuel economy? I have the receipt stating the expected MPG is what Subaru USA reports for the EXACT SAME VEHICLE: 21 City / 27 Hwy (within the parameters of the MPG I experienced). Check this out online - unbelievable that Subaru Canada gets away with this false advertising! Subaru Canada will tell you they test the MPG (L/100KM) per Canada's testing procedures, ...whatever, ...as if Subaru Canada isn't aware of what Subaru USA advertises for the exact same vehicle! It's a highly deceitful tactic to falsely advertise the MPG of vehicles, and we the consumers pay the price in the end. Shame on Subaru Canada and Subaru Calgary for taking advantage of your customers - and worse for Subaru Calgary handling this so poor and unprofessionally! read more

Great folks. When we brought our 2013 Subaru Outback in for a minor repair, they checked to see if this was one of the Subaru's affected by an excessive oil consumption issue and warranty extension. I've bought and leased from them twice since 2008 and I haven't really had many complaints. I've had 2 warranty issues with my 08 impreza and it has gone quite smoothly. My first complaint was how much they overcharge for the protection package compared to what they are getting charged (Centaur Subaru seems much more fair in this regard) and I have to agree with another reviewer who liked her salesman but disliked the financing specialist. I go with Terry, who is also the top salesman in Canada, and he's definitely a guy who's willing to deal. Overall they are a solid 4 stars...I think the lack in service that some people noticed is due to the fact that they are the top dealership in Canada and they don't really have to beg for your business...like it or not it's just the truth and it doesn't bother me. read more

Came in here with my family two days ago to purchase an Impreza. We knew one of the sales associates so we were hoping to get the best deal. Everything was going well until we were introduced to Matthew. Manager we dealt with (Matthew) was rude and generally made us feel unwelcome. They offered us a 500 dollar discount on our new impreza as a "friends and family discount". The price was still too steep so we wanted to discuss the price more. We had called Centaur earlier and found out they could get the car for us for about 2000 dollars cheaper; however, they would have to locate one for us. When we told him about the price over at Centaur, he basically accused my parents of swindling them. He told us we would not find a cheaper Impreza at Centaur told us to go over there. He also told us that he would not match their price as he seemed to think he had leverage over us (centaur did not have the vehicle in stock). We did not mind waiting for a car as time was not an issue We went to Centaur and the atmosphere was pretty much night and day. Go over to Centaur and deal with Dan. We got the same car for two thousand dollars cheaper over there. To leave a even worse taste in our mouths, we were informed the 500 friends as family discount we were receiving from Matthew was actually a incentive for doing a cash deal. I am writing this review to let you all know you don't have to settle for their abyssmal customer service. I am glad we went to Centaur and wiped that cocky smirk off Matthew's face. Embarrassing customer service. My salesman looked straight into my eyes and lied to me repeatedly. When I put up a fight and demanded what was verbally agreed to, they unleashed their 'sales manager' who is an aggressive incompetent bully in charge of intimidating their clients into submission. With slimy sales pitches like "Don't get too hung up on 'the numbers', just choose a car you like." - what was I expecting? Once Subaru Calgary has one cent of your money, your service is over. No more negotiation. No more questions will be answered. No more calls will be returned. Details on your 'deal' will be mysteriously forgotten by the salesman, no matter how many times or how deliberately they were discussed. The only answer you will hear is 'Your car will be ready when its ready'. Is this is the kind of service you want when making a major purchase? I get better customer service buying a sandwich. Throughout my experience with them, Subaru Calgary returned less than 1/4 of my calls. They didn't provide me with the documents I requested when I bought my car. If they don't feel like answering a question or request, they simply ignore it. Then they have the audacity to thoroughly explain their referral program. Genuinely bizarre and uniquely terrible service. This was an infuriating process and I would not recommend buying anything from this business. read more

I purchased a 2013 Honda Civic LX from this dealership. The first person I spoke with was Vu. He introduced me to his manager, Amez, who I found out later on wasnt even part of the management team.. they were both immature.. Vu promised to replace the bumper of the car (it had a hole).. 2 weeks gone by and I still havent got the car.. I got exuses like the bumper was being installed the very same day I asked... then a couple days later they were waiting for the bumper to arrive.. then stopped responding.. I had everything on text messages so I had screenshots sent later on... I sent an Email to Ryan to, coz he received my payment, didnt get a response either. So i decided to Email Mike, coz their website said he was the VP.. I never got a response or acknowledgement from him but at least that same day everyone started responding to me.. it's so unfortunate that I had to go that route to get a response from Subaru Calgary.. After that bad experience with them, I finally got a schedule to pick up "my" car.. Dylan had been assisting me at this point and he is a very kind hearted, honest person.. The day I was going to pick up the car, Taylor had given me a call around lunch time and said he was inspecting the car and it was ready for pick up... Dylan gave me a call at 4:30pm.. and said the bumper was green (car was black)... I was upset but whatever, it was the wrong pantone and they were willing to fix their mistake so I left the car and they gave me a loaner vehicle. They told me the car would be ready the next day.. it wasnt ready.. it extended another day, sure, no problem.. i got the car.. then not even a day had passed and the bumper started bubbling.. that very night I sent Dylan a text message and he immediately responded.. we scheduled to get the car bumper fixed again.. I drove the car back to the dealership to get the paint fixed... 2 days later I got a call that the car was ready.. I went late that afternoon.. guess what.. paint started bubbling again and I havent even driven the car home.. they called the 3rd party guy that did the painting and the guy blamed the heat of the sun for the bubbling..he said he needed a week for the paint to not bubble.. I said okay.. Over a week later, we scheduled the pick up date.. I got there, "my car" was not there.. at this point I have had enough.. like I've driven the loaner car more than "my car".. so I asked for a refund.. I sent an email again to Mike.. I got a phone call from Vijay who offered me 2 years free service after I told him that it's the "service" that I didnt want.. and I insisted that I wanted a refund and Vijay said they cant give refunds to financed vehicles.. well good thing I paid in cash.. it's just funny that he didnt even bother reading the file before talking to me... anyway, when I told him that it was paid in full, he told me that they will keep the tax that I paid.. how is that a refund if I dont get my full money back? Obviously, he was trying to take some of my money even if I didnt want to give my business there anymore.. I wanted to talk to someone who can make proper decisions and finally spoke with Cory who agreed to give a full refund.. unfortunately it was thru him that I found out, the bumper was never replaced (it made me feel so bad coz I was lied to by Vu).. apparently it was just patched.. anyway, at least I got my refund... it would have been nice if they communicated a timeline better.. over a week later I finally got my money back.. It was the worst car buying experience I have ever had but It turned out okay... I guess... even after a long wait... coz I at least got my refund and was able to give my business elsewhere.. read more

I have my 09 impreza serviced here all the time I usually seem to get mat as my service adviser he is friendly and seems to fit me in on short notice. It's nice to see a dealership that is straight forward and honest. When your car is in for service they offer you a shuttle to your office or home and wash your car at the end of service which is a nice perk to have at a dealership. Subaru also has a play area for children with television in in it and coffee machine down the hallway slightly. read more
