AH-MAZING! Everything that they say about the Amalfi Coast ... the beauty, the weather; the super…read more"cute" towns, the serenity, and all the hypes ... are all real and validated. This is heaven on earth. A spectacular stretch of southern Italy with cliffside towns, turquoise water, lemon groves, tiny beaches, and windy coastal roads. It is absolutely stunning and ridiculously beautiful here! My recommended spots - in order of preference. Also a crowd meter 1-3, with 3 being very crowded. * Positano. The iconic, glamorous town cascading down a cliff. Beautiful but steep, 2.5 crowded. * Ravello: A peaceful hilltop town famous for gardens, villas, music, and panoramic views. 2.0 crowded. * Maiori and Minori: Flatter, more practical towns with larger beaches and generally better value. 1.5-2.0 crowded. I really like it here. * Amalfi: Too touristy, but why not - you're here. A lively historic town with an impressive cathedral and convenient boat and bus connections. 3.0 Very crowded. Of course, it didn't quite live up to the…read morelarger than life persona that was found in numerous Tik Tok, IG, YouTube videos, but I wasn't immensely disappointed. Crowded? YES. High Prices? YES! Rude folks? INDEED! But overall, that was to be expected especially during our time we visited. I did enjoy the boat ride there with beautiful views of cliffside homes. The folks were pleasant, but some of those other tourists, well that's an entire other story... All in all, I'm glad I got to check it off my bucket list. Would I ever return? I really can't answer that...

Mixed with the pleasure of weaving thru the endless shops for luxurious Italian linens and artfully crafted ceramics. The evening plans were filled with delicious fresh local fish and sinful carb-laden bread, pasta with famous Italian gelato for dessert. well, the eating was not a problem but the rain poured down! AND thank God it did as it forced us off the beach and into the charm of Italy. Meet Marco Predieri(see photo). Tour guide, artist, owner of the company Off The Beaten Path! (Side Note: think synonymously: As "the most interesting man in the world" is to Dos Equis, Marco would be the brand/face for Italy"s Peroni or Moretti!) When beaches and shopping seem to be just scratching the surface of the amazing Positano and you want more or something different... call Marco Predieri. He was a wonderful, knowledgable tour guide! He knows the Amalfi Coast inside and out! He speaks perfect English and he is a walking history book. He will take the time to understand your needs and help you custom plan your itinerary. We had the great surprise of engaging in a few tours he offered that were literally off the charts. We went on amazing hikes seeing ancient waterfalls thru acres of pristine lemon groves. We took a cooking class in the kitchen of a gorgeous restaurant-side by side with the master chef. We went on a private boat tour along the Amalfi Coast with detours to cave dive and eat in a hidden gem of a fishing town. My only regret was there was not enough time to see and do all the wonderful tours he recommended. Marco makes you feel like a friend who has come to visit Italy for the first time and he wants to show you what you may not otherwise get to see. We felt like we were being escorted thru the town with an old friend who introduced us to his home and friends. The experience was a dream come true!

WOW! WOW! WOW! We're wrapping up four weeks in Europe and…read morethis was one of the highlights! We did the all day premium Capri boat tour and it was fantastic! Here are a few things you might find helpful: We were in the 8:30 departure. You're first stop is Capri where you'll be dropped off. Our return time to the marina was 1:30. So there's time to go to the top if you're smart and go right away. We went to Capri town and while the gardens were worthwhile, the high end shops were just that. And got crowded as the day progressed. Our friends went to Anacapri and took the chair lift to the top and LOVED it. In retrospect that would have been a better choice for us. Make sure you leave time to get back down because there will be lines, maybe long ones. Our group chose not to do the Blue Grotto. They do that after we return so this is something to discuss beforehand, as the time you WILL wait in line for that (1.5 hours had we done it) will cut into the magic that was ahead. Then we went around the island into the little grottos and they even took fun pictures. Then we swam! It was GORGEOUS!!! It's chilly but DO IT. The water is turquoise and truly magical. Antonio and the Captain were fabulous. They made it SO fun, adding a few surprises that I won't reveal . The time in the boat was the BEST! DO IT!!!!!!

I especially appreciated they arranged all of the transfers. They definitely made the entire family comfortable. They arranged so many wonderful surprises for us. I would use this tour again!
