A few days ago was the second time I had ever been there. The first time was back in March right before COVID-19 hit big. I actually came out of the haircut liking the way it looked. But I still wanted it a little bit different the next time, so I took a few pictures so I had something to show Sony (the one who cut my hair). I came back a few days ago and first of all, no employees are wearing masks and they don't require masks to go in. Which is fine by me, but some people might not like that, so just a heads up. My real issue is how much he butchered my haircut. This was probably the first time since I was a kid that I absolutely hated the way I looked coming out. I might as well have sat there and said, "do whatever you want" because it didn't look like the picture of myself at all. He pretty much cut it like the dude that went before me and the guy next to me. So maybe this place only does one or two different styles of cuts. But I promise I will never spend $50 on a haircut at this place again because it was not worth it. Nice guys though. They were funny. read more

I've been coming to this shop for 3 years now. The stylists inside have a wide variety of skill and can cut any texture of hair. I've never left feeling bad or self conscience about myself, which can happen at a barber shop that has less than quality barbers. The cuts are so good, that I have gifted haircuts to my friends who have fell in love with haircuts they received. The interior design of the shop is really easy on the eyes, super welcoming, floor to ceiling mirrors, and also has a classic feel with some of the antique barber chairs and chests. read more

If you want a great cut this is the place to go to. Marc is a real nice guy and runs his business well, and the rest of the team is dope too. It's a little more expensive than other places but it's definitely worth the extra cost. The vibe is also nice inside and very casual, I would 100% recommend getting an appointment. read more

Very nice and can get packed very quickly, especially in the afternoon. This was my second visit, but first time with Marcus, the owner himself. It was an early morning appointment, but there was already a customer and he got me in quick. They have a complimentary shampoo and conditioning before the haircut, which was pretty nice. I cant comment anything about the 60$ haircut because I got the regular student cut for $28. Although much more expensive than what Im used to in virginia, it was the best cut I have ever had. Usually when the barber is done and ask if I like it, usually I just roll along saying yeah, but for the first time, a genuine "perfect" came out. I just asked him to cut it short, and he gave me a perfect cut that went along with my style. Expensive? Sure (but definitely cheaper than center city ones). Worth it? Absolutely. read more

Horrible! Rip-off! Liars! Stay away! I walk in put my coat on the hanger and am asked to sit down at the hair wash station. Right before getting a hair wash and shampoo I ask the girl that doing it what the price will be for my hair cut and beard, she replies $33. I asked again if that included everything and she replied yes. I thought it was a fair price because the shampoo was included. Shortly after my shampoo and was I am asked by Marcus, the owner, to come sit in his chair for the cut. The cut lasts 15 mins and he had me ready was ready to get me out of his chair without even asking me if I was satisfied with the cut. I had him go back to it twice. Which only lasted another 2 minutes. When I was done he said cash or credit. I said cash. Marcus said my total was $50. I told him I thought it was $33 because the lady washing my hair said it was, but he said no it's $50 and he makes the prices. Then I pointed to the sign on the wall stating that student haircuts are $25 and Marcus stated that it's only that price on Mon, Tues, Wed even though it was not stated anywhere. I said ok well then the sign also says that it was $30 for a haircut. Marcus said no it's $40. I said it says right there on the sign that it's 30, he goes no we didn't put it up yet and that it's $40+$10 for the beard. I told him that the only reason that I sat down for the cut is because it was gonna be 33 dollars. Marcus then says to me "you're not walking out of here and only giving me $33". I told him I would give him 33+7 for tip totaling 40. Then he continues to say that I owed him $3 for the shampoo. I told him I didn't ask for it and he said its mandatory. I only had $40 dollars to give him and left it for him. As I go to get my coat I ask the girl who washed my hair why she said my cut would be $33 and she said because it's only supposed to be $33. As she's speaking to me Marcus interrupts and says don't talk to her. I told him I was rechecking the price and he repeatedly tells me to not talk to her. Then I left. This was the worst barbershop experience I have ever had. The cut was mediocre and the rates displayed and told to the customer mean nothing. There are things called respect honor and integrity, none of these exist at styles inspired by marc barbershop located at 3854 Lancaster Ave Philadelphia, PA. To deal with someone so unprofessional such as Marcus is sad, especially he is the owner. What a shame! read more

In regards to the atmosphere, though small, is by far one of the best layouts i've seen in a shop, and they take card - a immediate plus. Definitely some offsetting barbershop talk going on about "getting it in at 14"; but to each their own. Other than that, came out with a quick good cut, there was no real wait which is why I didn't mind spending the extra ten ($30 total) for a cut. I had a lady named Julie, who seemed to be the newer barber in the shop since she had all of the walk-ins like myself, and everyone else was appointment only. If I do come back I'll definitely try to get Marc, or even Julie again. Definitely caters to a younger college aged clientele, I can't imagine anyone 40+ coming in to get their haircut here. read more

If you're a student, getting the student discount here will get you the best cut you can find for the price (but remember to always tip on the pre-discounted total, in any industry!). This was the worst customer service I've ever received. I got a terrible cut by Tyler and got blamed by the owner because I was 10 minutes late. I traveled 20 mins in traffic to get there. He said that my hair cut was low quality because I showed up 10 minutes late and was accused of showing up 30 mins late. He also said that I "demanded a hair cut". You mean made an appointment? Here's exactly what the OWNER said "I talked to him and he mentioned that you were 30 mins late for your appointment and pretty much demanded that he cut your hair. He had 8 clients after you. To be honest he went against what we go as a team to accommodate you because you were new. But we never take clients after 10 mins late because that compromises quality." He basically said I got a low quality hair cut because his staff made a decision to take me. I would've rather been rejected than to have paid $40 and paid to travel there.
