No way would I ever go back to Magley! I was quoted a price upon drop off of $83.16 for a haircut…read more When I got there to pick my dog up he had not gotten a haircut, only a sanitary shave! Additionally the price had increased to $134.41 because Dr Magley had decided he needed a physical exam, something I neither agreed to now was it needed! I had explained to them that he has been seeing a vet in my hometown (45 minutes away) and they never once requested his medical records or I would have gladly provided them! Dr Magley's only solution to this was for me to bring him back the following week and she would give him the haircut that he was initially scheduled for but I would have to pay again! That would mean another three hours driving time dropping off and picking up (45 minutes each way twice)! Again, no way I would ever go back here!

Lola had problems when I got her from the shelter, one of which was a tumor on her bottom. Dr…read moreMagley told me right away that she was pretty sure it was benign, but as it grew it would bother her and would probably need to be removed whenever we were ready. A couple months later I felt it was time so I made an appointment and got it remove. I worried all day while Lola recuperated from the surgery because she's afraid if we're separated for very long. When I picked her up she was just fine, and during the time since then she's felt so much better. I didn't realize how much the tumor was bothering her until I saw how she's been doing with it removed. I'm so grateful to Dr Magley and her staff. I'll never take Lola anywhere else.

The owners are very sincere and friendly. But I am extremely disappointed with the groomer. This…read morewas the absolute worst groom that my dog has ever received. The groomer did not groom per the breed standard and per my request. The dog was totally shaved and all of the breed standard years of sculpting was disregarded. Upon pick up the groomer said that my requests looked weird to her. Obviously, the groomer does not know grooming per breed standards nor did the groomer listen to me. It took two full months for the shaved coat to grow out to be groomed correctly elsewhere. The silky breed standard texture may never come back due to this terrible shave. Double coated dogs require skilled grooming and not "whatever the groomer thinks". It was a big mistake for me to take my dog to this groomer. It is a shame because I really like the owners.

To the 1st review…read more Maam, I am an employee at 4 paws and I would like to address this review. First, I would like address the 'aloof and disorganized ' comment. I assume you were referring to the young lady that checked you in. She is our newest employee. She is fresh out of grooming school and young. Im sure she was unorganized and confused but she is learning a whole new job and our procedures. She is a shy young lady and is progressing nicely. I'm sorry if her lack of experience was less than acceptable for you. If you would have expressed your concern we would have been more than happy to have a senior staff member check you in. Next I would like to apologize for a groom that you found to be sub par. We would have greatly appreciated your concerns when you picked your dog up and paid. We would have been more than happy to correct and grievances you had about your groom. As far as the groin being shaved to the skin, that is standard in all the grooming facilities that I know. It's a sanitary service. We also shave the anus. We realize that your pet is extremely important to you and the money that you pay for its groom should be worth what you expect. But if you don't point out your concerns then we can't fix them for you. I dont remember the circumstances of that day but you must understand that everyone has their bad days. We would have been more than happy to correct anything that you found unsatisfactory but you didn't come forward. As far as the 'verbal assault' pertains, I think that's a little harsh. It's upsetting to us as a buisness to see a client looking for recommendations and then singling our business out as a 'do not recommend because I've tried them'. That reflects poorly on the buisness that we have worked very hard in to gain our great reputation. 20 years as a small business is remarkable, especially for a grooming shop. Again, if you would have verbally expressed your unsatisfaction then we could have more clearly addressed this situation. Its very easy to misconstrue the inflection in a written message. We rely on the feedback of our clients, both good and bad, in order to better our clients experience and progress as successful business. Im sorry that you weren't happy with your experience but if we are not informed of a concern then we cannot rectify the problem and make your experience better.
