I just had my fourth session with artist Caleb Morgan and have another 3 sessions left with him to finish a project we started back in January. I say "we" because working with Caleb has been an awesome collaborative experience, where he genuinely cares about what I want and is great about giving me feedback and expert suggestions on my tattoo ideas and how they can best be expressed and all flow together. Although I would definitely consider myself a relative tattoo novice, I have gotten tattoos at other studios in Georgia, Texas and Japan and nothing comes close to the quality and overall experience I have had in my almost 24 hours of tattoo at Stygian Gallery for the following reasons (in addition to Caleb being the man): 1. Cleanliness 2. Professionalism 3. Artistic quality of my tattoos 4. Physical quality of my tattoos 5. Ambiance/Vibe. Let's start with cleanliness. Not only is the studio pristine, every effort has been made to ensure my safety due to COVID-19. Upon my arrival, Charlie, the studio manager has taken my temperature and they only allow those being tattooed to be in the actual tattoo area to mitigate risk and everyone was wearing masks. Moving to professionalism, where do I begin? I was so pumped to get on Caleb's calendar because I had reached out back in 2016 and did not have any availability at the time. I can tell you it was absolutely worth waiting for the right time. Last Fall, I submitted a consultation request through the website with some paintings and a description of what I wanted to get. Later that day, studio manager Charlie called me to set up my consultation with Caleb, answered all my questions and could not have been more nice. After an awesome consultation call with Caleb where we had a great back and forth on ideas and placement, Charlie called me back to book out my sessions, which were all a 3 to 5 month wait to get in. Artistic quality of the tattoo...I do not know how he does it but it is really cool to watch it come to life from beginning to end. Caleb is a perfectionist and took great care adding texture, shading and other elements that gave the tattoos so much more depth. He did not race through our sessions and I appreciated it. The realism and quality is pretty unbelievable. Physical Quality...this is the first time where I have been tattooed and not had any flaking or peeling. They wrapped my tattoo in sani derm, which I had never had before and it was a game-changer for the healing. Ok. Last but definitely not least, the ambiance and vibe. This place is awesome. Tony, the owner, has an art studio in the front of the shop with his art on display and the shop's actual tattoo studio is in the back and offers clients more privacy. Even though I was being tattooed by Caleb, when I made my way back to the tattoo area, Tony and Desiree both greeted me as well and they each could not have been more warm and welcoming during each of my visits. My previous experience in other shops is that no one really cares you are there and don't expect anyone else to say much. Stygian is different and it shows. During a break on my latest session, I found myself talking with Tony about restaurants and the best places to find good vegetables in the city. Point being he's just a good dude who goes out of his way to talk with anyone in his studio, regardless of whether they are working with him or one of the other artists. If you are wanting to get a tattoo and you are looking into Stygian Gallery then look no further. You will have to wait a few months but it will be totally worth it. Caleb was my tattoo artist, but with any artist here you will get a professional and high-quality tattoo with an awesome experience. Of course, choose the artist that fits your style. The process from the beginning was very smooth. I'm a very quiet and shy person and I believe you should have a sort of connection with your tattoo artist to get the best experience possible. Caleb was wonderful and I had a great time talking to him before the tattoo and during the sessions. I felt like he knew exactly what I was looking for in my tattoos. He took my ideas and made two masterpieces as I ended up getting a full sleeve and a quarter sleeve. The quarter sleeve was more of a collaboration as we talked about it while I was getting my full sleeve done. I waited 5 months to get my tattoo started, but it was so worth the wait. The gallery is very clean and the atmosphere is amazing. Charlie, Tony, Desiree, and Maggie were all very friendly and welcoming. I felt very relaxed and everything always felt easy going during the tattoo sessions. I loved the music and the art pieces. I was very much in my comfort zone. I recently moved away from Georgia, but I will definitely fly back to have Caleb finish out my arm in the future. I refuse to look for any other tattoo artist. Caleb is amazing, very skillful and the amount of detail that he put into my tattoos blows me away. I'm extremely happy with my tattoos and with Caleb's work. My experience with Stygian Gallery has FAR exceeded my expectations. Charlie, the shop manager, is very easy to contact and was available anytime I had a question during the booking process. This made scheduling simple, effective and worry-free. Initially, I wanted to pursue a project with Tony Mancia, but he was not scheduling at that time. Alternatively, I scheduled with Caleb Morgan, which was still about a 4 month wait. During our telephone consultation he was open to my ideas, easy to chat with, and obviously very knowledgeable of his trade. On my first appointment day, I was welcomed into the shop, which displays tons of their personal artwork. The shop is clean and well organized. Caleb's station was immaculate, he made me feel comfortable and he was easy to chat with. I've now completed two full sessions on my half sleeve. All of my ink has healed quickly and without issue, which is a testament to his technique. I am an orthopedic surgeon, and I can truly say I am impressed by the level of focus, detail and quality he pours into his work. Stygian is great, I've been coming here since they opened up and now it's hard to imagine going anywhere else. I'll probably be coming until I'm dead since these guys gave me an excellent recommendation on a place to get laser tattoo removal. If only these people teamed up to run this place when I was 18.... Amazing artists, friendly staff. Everyone is very professional and you get the feeling they all take great pride in their work. The space is beautiful. It really feels more like a fine art gallery than your typical tattoo shop. In my opinion, it speaks volumes to the quality of work being done here to see that so much thought went into the space and how these artists carry themselves. Tony is one of the best artists around and is one of the nicest guys I know, I have 4 sessions with him and plan to get more. I get stopped all the time by people wanting to see his work and I have many other tattoos but when I'm at conventions it's always his work people want to see, even artists are in awe of his work. Tony Mancia is hands down, one of the best black and gray tattoo artist in the US. His work is outstanding, and he's very easy to work with. For such a talented artist, he has no attitude, and will answer all your questions and concerns, and make sure you get an amazing piece of art on your body. The studio also has other artist like Oscar Zornosa, who does amazing color work, geometric tattoos, as well as black and gray. Also Desiree Mancia has been tattooing along side of Tony, and has been doing amazing work of her own. I can say that I have been lucky enough to have two full arm sleeves done by Tony, and a half leg sleeve done by Desiree. I couldn't be happier with all my work. Everyone is friendly, efficient, and eager to work with their clients to achieve an artistic tattoo. Amazing artists here! I was visiting Atlanta from Switzerland, Europe and called to try to get tattooed while I was in town- the manager was super helpful and set me up with Desirée for my first tattoo. This is the nicest tattoo shop I have ever been in after experiencing it I understand why they call it a "gallery" filled with true artists, masters of there craft. Everyone was supper friendly and very professional. I had a great experience with Caleb Morgan , he listened to what I was going for and he came up with the most amazing drawing like he pulled the image from my mind through it on paper and then made it cooler . Giger's artwork perfectly, and I constantly receive compliments on the quality of work that he produced. The shop has an atmosphere that is incredibly calming, and professional. Caleb killed it for my Tattoo. This Tattoo Studio is top of the line and in my opinion one of the best in the nation. I personally travel from out of state to get all my work done here. I was tattooed by Caleb, and I cannot say enough good things about him. He tattooed a snow leopard on my back, and I swear this tattoo looks like it could walk off my back and into the mountains.
