First time to go fruit picking in Washington State. My mom was so happy, walking through the orchards, picking peaches, and then eating it. It was a warm day, so we left our dogs (who aren't allowed in the orchard which I completely appreciate) at a picnic table in the shade and no one bothered them. I got peach itch from catching the peaches in my arms when they fell off the tree. The lady showed me where to wash my arms off, but I couldn't get them off. Next time I'll make sure to wear a long shirt or bring packaging tape to get off the itchy fuzz. We went back to our hotel to shower and get the itch off, which was a relief. They had peaches, apricots, and pears available for harvest, but mom went crazy in the peach area so no pears for us that day. So glad we found out about this place. Will check if they have Christmas activities because this place is a lot of fun. read more

For our last day in Leavenworth, we decided to do something that screams "not in Texas"... apple picking! Enter Stutzman Ranch, a family owned orchard delivering peak September vibes on a sun kissed day. Pro tip: sneakers or hiking boots are a must. The orchard sits on a hill, and you'll get your steps in, believe me. Upon arrival, the signs lead you right to the warehouse where you check in. The big "Fruit in Season" board made it clear: apples and pears are the stars of the show. There is a $5 U-Pick minimum per person 12 years and over. You can bring your own basket or they'll handed you a cardboard box, and if you're feeling fancy, upon availability you can borrow a wagon. After a quick walk to the orchard entry, you're given the lowdown on which rows hold the goods. Families were out, kids running around, everyone on the hunt for Washington's crown jewels--apples. Though the grapes were almost done for the season, we still snagged a few sweet clusters. After we wrapped up our fruity treasure hunt, we headed back to settle up. Floyd and Betsy Stutzman, the lovely fourth-generation owners, greeted us again, this time with Charlie, their sweet pup. We chatted about our Texas roots and thanked them for keeping their slice of paradise so well-maintained. There's something satisfying about biting into a crisp Fuji apple you just picked yourself. This is our 3rd year here. We usually wait for the Rainier cherries to trekked our way. The owner here is pretty nice. When you arrive at the destination, you need to sign your name and number of people in your party. There's a minimum of $5.00 per person, which is easily to obtain, given that you can purchase a bucket full of cherries at $2.75/lbs for the Rainier cherries and a little less than $2.00/lbs for the Bing cherries. After signing in, there's a brief safety demonstration on how to properly use the ladder. My advice is to start at the back of the orchard and make your way towards the front. While we were there, the tractor was out of service. However, the owner's son helped us bring the buckets to the stand to pay. Overall, I would recommend this place. RAINIER CHERRY REVIEW ~COME EARLY (9AM) FOR THE BEST EXPERIENCE~ (6/29/19) L O C A T I O N Near Hwy 2. If you're coming from Seattle it'll be about a 2-ish hour drive. They have their own personal parking lot but that filled up quickly when I arrived (1PM) so there's street parking available. The ranch has honey buckets for customers to use so either come prepared with toilet paper or don't use it at all. Due to the amount of people vising the ranch the honey buckets were very unsanitary. F O O D //Rainier Cherry// ($2.75/lb) These cherries are sweet and juicy! They're pretty big and the color is a beautiful red yellow. Each bucket can hold about 20lbs (~$55). S E R V I C E The people working this farm are friendly and pleasant. BUT because the amount of people visiting it can be a stressful time for everyone (not just the workers). They sell food in this remodeled bus . Once all the buckets were in use people had to wait in line for the next available buckets. For me it took 2 HOURS of waiting before my group can get a bucket. And that's not all, there's a limited amount of ladders so people had to wait/stalk others to nab a ladder. O V E R A L L Because of the time I went and how things were handled I'd have to rate this experience 2 stars. It took my group 2hrs to arrive, 2hrs of waiting in line for a bucket, and 2 hours of actual cherry picking, and another 2hrs of driving back (total: 8hrs of regretting why I'm going to this place). BUUT if I had to go again this is what I'd do: -Read their website CAREFULLY, they have rules and it will be enforced. -Be the first people there (9pm: When it opens) -Bring food/snacks (esp. cold water) -Wear comfortable shoes! -Bring spare clothing and a hat (picking cherries in the heat can make you sweat a lot) -Bring toilet paper, just in case the honey bucket run out read more

We adore Stutzman Ranch! They have an update website each day that helps plan with picking! The people that run the farm love kids and welcome everyone! They take all cards and cash, and offer crates and boxes for picking so you don't need to bring anything yourself. We go as often as we can! read more

I picked myself myself 70 pounds of peaches, but owner's wife was rude and refuse going down in a price for even a one cent. They advertise their ranch very well, but it's very expensive place, We found much better deals, while driving around the area. Don't recommend them to anyone because they not nice and greedy. read more

Be the early birds. Normally the U-pick season could only last for one week for one type of fruit. The height of the trees are suitable for kids to pick up as well since the cherries are all over from top to bottom. read more

The parking is a nightmare. People who work there, including an owner, yelled at visitors to line up their cars. The owner guy even said to me that 'if you don't line up your car, get out of my farm' I've been coming to this farm for last several years and this is not the right way to treat their loyal customers. Also, this farm has produced fruits inconsistently. For some year, they have good ones and for the other year, they have bad ones. Especially this year, rainier cherry is not a good year, comparing to previous years. I am so disappointed how they become ignorant for their customers. read more

It's unbelievable that they do short weight. I was charged 17 pounds, but after sharing with friends pounds by pounds, I found it's only around 14 pounds in total. I'll never recommend this farm to anyone unless one takes own scale. read more

We visited mid September around 11am on a Sunday morning. Half of the parking was full when we arrived and full when we were done at 1. What a treat!! We picked three varieties of peaches, perfectly crisp Fujis, two grape varietals and two types of plums. They also had pluots, pears and nectarines. The staff were super friendly encouraging us to sample the fruit. Worth a stop if you're just passing through ($5 min per u-picker which buys a lot) or a perfect half-day trip for the whole family. The owners and staff are super nice, and the cherries are enormous! So why only three stars? First, this little gem is no longer hidden. I had to wait in line for about 2 hours just to get into the farm. It was 98 degrees under a relentless sun. Second, if you were thinking about stuffing yourself with cherries while picking, know that the cherries are sprayed with a pesticide and there's a thin layer of dust on them. If you go with the right expectations and you're prepared, you can still have a great time. I was not prepared for the huge crowds and the long wait times at the farm. I recommend calling ahead before you go to find out how busy it is. I think the owners are also surprised by the huge crowds and I hope that they'll figure out a system to reduce wait times. read more

We came to this orchard from Cle Elum, and the drive was so gorgeous! The Orchard was breath taking, and the owner of the ranch, Mr. Stutzman was so nice and personable. My husband and I felt like we were kids again picking apples! The best part is that his prices cannot be beat. $40 for 80 lbs of apples is pretty epic. We have definitly started a new family tradition with the Stutzman Ranch. read more

This place was so much fun. It was my first time visiting an orchard that was you pick. They showed us where to get the best pickings, gave us a few tips and let us wonder and play in the orchard. We picked nectarines, grapes and pears. Apples were about a week away from being ready but we still had a great time and brought home some great looking fruit which I enjoyed for breakfast and snacks during the remainder of my vacation. read more

Stutzman Ranch is about 15 min' drive from Leavenworth, WA, 2.5 hrs drive from Seattle. Fabulous place for fresh u-pick fruit, cherries, nectarines, peaches, apples. The owner are extremely nice. They also have fresh eggs daily on their farm but you have to get there early in the morning or they all gone. We were there on July for Rainier cherries and Bing, they were so delicious. The lady even gave my two little nieces a free hay drive on the back of her truck. We definitely return for some fresh nectarine this month read more
