They have had my cushions for over a week. They were just replacing the foam inside. They were supposed to be done Saturday...then Monday then the owner said she make sure they were done Tuesday. When we called on Tuesday she said no but the workers would not leave until they had them done that night We called on Wednesday morning they were not done Owner said she would call us at 3:00 she did not. My husband went to the store at 4:45. One star is too high. Had an antique chair upholstered here and he said he would need 3 weeks to complete. No true it took atleast 6 months or more. We disgusted what we wanted. He agreed this would be nice and he could do the job in 3 weeks. When we repeatedly call about the chair we either had to leave a message. Never getting a call back. Put us off time after time. Anyway 6 months later we were ready to pick up the chair and take it else where. He got the chair completed finally went to pick up. Seeing the chair it was not upholstered the way we disgusted. This guy is a joke he originally told us when he fell in love with upholstery. He is full of BS. DON'T USE THIS PLACE!!! read more

Terrible customer service coupled with equally terrible workmanship. We met with Stuff It in Mar 2020 to discuss reupholstering our vintage sofa, and selected and paid for the fabric at that time. In May, we gave them a call and learned that the fabric had not been ordered; they had written down the fabric information wrong - and not been able to find our phone number to contact us. Not a problem - mistakes happen, right? We were patient for a few more months, appreciating the impact that the pandemic had on small businesses, then started making regular calls in Aug. We were repeatedly told that Larry would begin work on the sofa "this week", only for a few weeks to go by with no progress. On one memorable occasion, Larry answered up the phone and promptly hung up when I identified myself; when I called back a few seconds later, another employee picked up - in mid-sentence with Larry - and then told me that Larry was not there. Wait...what? By Sep, our patience was exhausted. It was only when I asked Stuff It for a refund that I was told that the work would be completed the following weekend. Six months and over $800 later, our sofa was returned - featuring raw edges, lumpy and uneven cushioning, and a hundred crooked and visible staples. In addition, none of the elements that we had initially discussed with Larry - e.g., piping around the edges - were included. Though they had our sofa for months, it was clear that they only spent a few hasty hours on it, maximum. Which is a shame, because I was perfectly willing to forgive everything up to that point, as long as our sofa looked amazing. To describe this as "poor workmanship" would be an understatement. At the time, we were on the verge of an out-of-state move, so I didn't fight it - but in retrospect, I should have. It's been slightly over a month since we picked up the sofa, and we've already lost several of the staples and the fabric is starting to loosen; we'll need to get it reupholstered again in order for it to be usable. In short, we feel disappointed, cheated and deliberately deceived, and could not recommend Stuff It to anyone in good conscience. read more

We have a couch that over the years became uncomfortable; you sat in it not on it. I took the two odd shaped cushions in to have the foam replaced. i expected a couple weeks, it was three days! The foam inside the cushion had its own cover. The foam was stuffed inside that cover and sown back up. I think they don't charge enough for bringing life back into our couch and chair. I have never had anything recovered so I can't speak to that. What I can tell you, I had some boat cushions recovered and you can't expect them to be exactly ike when they came out of the factory. read more

Quoted 4-6 weeks, took 4 months to finish. The owner can be friendly in person and on the phone, but he lied all the way through. Constantly put the project off. If he's busy and knows he'll be busy he should be honest about how long it will take. As for the furniture itself, it is fine I guess, he replaced the stuffing without permission which is very annoying, but it seems to still work. Seriously, just go anywhere else, this has the potential to be a nightmare. read more

On her birthday, my daughter received a mid-1950's child chair that had belonged to her grandma. The frame had to be repaired to make it strong. All the old batting was removed and new foam was added, then it was upholstered. Also, my wooden rocking chair from mid-1980's was restored and all new cushions made in "Cars" fabric for my son. I have a 3 sectional sofa with recliners on each end. One end always gets sat on the most so the springs were worn and the stuffing was shot. We dropped it off on a Saturday and picked it up on Thursday. They were wonderful to work with. The sofa is definitely stuffed well. It is a little firmer of course from the rest of the sofa but that's to be expected. It will wear in. I have another piece of furniture I will be taking there. It is definitely cheaper than having to replace the furniture. Thank you Stuff It. Update. It had to go back. Fabric wasn't attached. We just picked it up and now my husband is adding some stables because what they redid wasn't holding it well and they weren't even in all the way. Nice people but I'm personally not very pleased. I took my 2 couch cushions to them. They re-stuffed them in less time than I was expecting. Shane texted me when they were completed. Both my daughter and I have had several jobs done by Stuff It. We have been completely satisfied. If there was any tweaking to be done, adjustments were made with no issues. I find the owner and the employees to be pleasant and helpful; they work to understand what you want and to satisfy. read more

My experience here nearly matches that of NC in the reviews "Not Recommended" by Yelp. I brought 2 sofa throw pillows in for restuffing on a Monday, and was promised my pillows would be ready "By Saturday". A little after noon Saturday we went to pick up the pillows while running other errands, and we were told to "come back after 5pm". It's a bit of a drive to this shop, and I called to inform the owner I could not make it back that day, but would pick them up Monday. I also started a sentence to ask if he would consider a small price adjustment for my having to make 2 trips OR make me a good price on my next project. I was VERY rudely cutoff mid sentence, and informed I should have called before coming to pick up the pillows. Then the owner went off on a rant and honestly, I have never heard or been exposed to such rude, unprofessional behavior and tone from a business owner in my life! I picked up the pillows on Monday, and the lady was very nice. But when the owner heard my voice out front, he came running into the office to chastise me some MORE! He grabbed the pillows and threatened to remove "his stuffing" if I didn't sign a receipt saying "No Returns" on it (even if the pillows were stuffed incorrectly). I was then asked to never return to his shop. He even pointed to a VIDEO of my 1st trip to his store dropping off the pillows he had loaded up and running, yet I have no idea why. The pillows were indeed restuffed and now they are EXTREMELY firm, and not really suitable as cozy throw pillows. I gave this business 1 Star because there isn't a Zero. With high hopes, I dropped off two glider cushions to be reupholstered. My fabric, my foam, "not a hard project" I was told. I was asked to give a reminder phone call a few days before I wanted to pick it up (which I thought was a little strange), but at that point I felt good about the price point and experience level of the shop owners. Not only was the job not completed the day I was told to pick it up (despite my phone call early in the week to verify), I have never been on the recieving end of such poor customer service. I was told to come all the way back across town at 5pm that day, my paperwork was nowhere to be found, and above all - when I called to discuss everything with the owner of the shop, he completely cut me off and handed the phone to another person, refusing to speak to me. In all honesty, I was not being rude, unreasonable, or demanding. The lady whom I spoke to after he "hung up on me" was even apologetic for his behavior and agreed that she would be taken aback by such poor customer service as well. The glider cushions look great, thanks only to the seamstress. I can handle missed deadlines, but I cannot tolerate (and will never pay for) such poor service. A disappointment for sure. read more

Would not recommend. I dropped my boat off in November 2014 for a complete re-upholstery job. I talked with the owner, Larry Skelf, and his son prior to dropping off the boat and was assured that they were happy to take the job. I left my contact information and phone number and asked that they call if they had any questions or if they needed anything from me. Knowing that my boat was likely not a high priority, I called to check in sometime in mid-December and was told that they were busy but would start the job in January. No big deal, as long as I got the boat back by the time Spring rolled around. Not having heard anything in January or February, or the first half of March, I decided to place a follow up call to Stuff It. I spoke with Mr. Skelf on March 16 and was assured that they would have the boat ready in a couple of weeks and that they would start on the job in the next few days. Mr. Skelf did send me an e-mail a couple of days after that and ask for my phone number and stated that he needed to know what type of fabric we agreed on (which we had not discussed). I offered to come by to pick something out if needed, and he said he'd let me know. I didn't hear back and knowing that the boat should be finished by March 30 (a couple of weeks after we spoke), I decided to stop by on Saturday March 28. I was very disappointed to find my boat half uncovered and that no work had been started on the boat. I asked to speak to the owner, and Mr. Skelf advised that they would get to the boat when they could get to it. I asked if he could give me a definite date when it would be completed, and he stated that he didn't like where the conversation was headed. He proceeded to tell me how busy they were and that he's doing his best. He also stated that he's just one man and didn't know how I could expect for him to do it all (although I witnessed at least two others at the shop that appeared to be working during that visit). I again just asked when the boat would be started and when it would be finished, at which time Mr. Skelf stated that he didn't like where the conversation was going and that I should just take my boat and leave. Now, after six months at Stuff It, my boat is no better than I left it, aside from being drenched on the inside since it was left partially uncovered. I'm also left trying to recover my deposit which, is anything like their upholstery work, will take quite a bit of time if it happens at all. Based on my experience, I would not recommend going to Stuff It; it seems they're too busy to honor the timelines they set and too busy to take on any new customers. read more

After years of crummy mattresses, my wife and I decided to build our own. We went to Stuff It and purchased a king sized piece of foam to be delivered. After receiving the foam, we unwrapped the wrap from it and discovered that instead of a king made from one piece of foam, it was made up of at least 5-7 different pieces, glued together and falling apart. My wife and I went back to stuff it to have them pick up their foam and to get a refund. The owners son asked us how we liked the foam and I informed him that I did not appreciate being sold a bed made from multiple scrap pieces of foam. The doped up punk then looked me in the eye and asked if I wanted to "take this outside," After Much yelling and threats, the owner Larry Finally came out of hiding. He eventually says he will buy back the mattress. They came that evening to pick up the mattress, without my refund. They say ilI have to go back to the store in the morning to get my refund. I tell Larry that's not what we agreed on. His reply in a nutshell, " you don't like it, keep the bed then." I had to work the next morning, so my wife went back to Stuff It to get our refund, (they already had the bed). Larry did Not give her the refund, we had to wait 2 days for it to be put back into our account. While my wife and I were in the office when we first purchased the bed, we noticed crosses and bible verses decorating the walls. There was even a poster of a book that good ole Larry had written, a Christian book. We now know that the only reason those things are up is so he can keep up a good front for the many churches that have pew work and what not done by him. Can you just imagine going to a place of business to get a refund for crappy work and being threatened to have your butt whipped for it? I Am a Christian, but these people give that title a Very name. P,s, I had stepped outside to see what the kid wanted to talk about, but my five foot four inch tall disabled wife was able to keep him from following me out.
