I was in town for a wedding and needed to find a hair salon. I booked an appointment for 9am and the wedding ceremony started at 5pm which was fine. I forgot her name, but she is one of the daughters of the salon and she did an excellent job! I loved how my hair turned out. Mia was so great! I was nervous to find a new place in Hickory, since my usual gal was booked for a few months solid. Glad to say this is my new place. I had a lot of hair, and I wanted a balayage done. Mia was considerate, offered me water and always made sure I was comfortable. She was attentive and asked tons of questions regarding color, length and trimming style. The atmosphere of this place was comfortable! It didn't feel like a franchise but I did not feel awkward or too underdressed or anything. I felt like i fit in, even though it was my first time. Overall it took about 4 hours and i feel somewhat guilty for taking such a large chunk of her time, but her hard work really paid off. My hair looks amazing!! Always happy with my cut and color. Kaylin is amazing!!!! But what is awesome are the sinks. Normally you end up with a sore neck because of the way they're designed. But their sinks have an incline you just lay in to. No sore neck and so comfortable. It's one of those little touches that makes a big difference. read more

Came here after having an amazing experience at a Paul Mitchell salon in Savannah, GA and finding them on the PM salon locator. For the most part the staff were all very warm and friendly. I brought the formula the stylist in Savannah did (or close to what she could remember while calling me out of the office) and was slightly nervous when my stylist here seemed stumped; the owner helped her out through most of the appointment so I felt relieved. Overall I really liked the (super cute and very sharp) salon and staff. VERY affordable (compared to the same service being done in Savannah or downtown Charlotte) New salon and mixed stylist experience. Would definitely recommend giving them a chance! I was in quite the desperate need of a salon! We recently moved from Dallas, TX to Maiden, NC. I am accustomed to having my hair maintained with either a cut, root touch-up, highlights or just something totally new, typically every 8-10 weeks. Finding a new salon - more importantly - a new stylist, is a big deal for me. After several, long months of searching online, reading reviews, looking at client pics, I finally decided on Studio Sublime and chose Kailyn Miles as my stylist. I solely relied on reviews and before/after pics in choosing this salon. My hard work certainly paid off! I was extremely impressed with the decor and general "vibe" of the salon. Every staff member was dressed appropriately and in the classic black uniforms. I was promptly greeted and offered a beverage. When my stylist, Kailyn, came out and introduced herself, she asked me what I was wanting to achieve during my appointment. After a great and thorough consultation, she began working on assembling her tools and mixing color, etc. She talked with me through each process, asking me guiding questions that would help her better identity what my vision was and how she could achieve the results I desired. Her extensive and professional training were clearly evident. Kailyn conducted the entire visit with poise and professionalism. When she turned my chair around to show me the final result, I was more than pleased! She did an amazing job with deciphering my vision! I have now been there twice and even brought my mother in for a haircut with Tina. My mother's hair has never looked so good and she booked her next 6 week appointment! I was looking for a hair salon to get my hair done I wanted it dyed from dark brown to blonde. My fiancé found this salon online and told me it seemed like a good salon. I figured I try it. The woman who did my hair was very nice and did a wonderful job. She didn't take my hair that platinum of a blonde color that I wanted but she told me she didn't want to ruin my hair but still she took it to a dirty blonde it looked great. Okay so I was going to try this new salon out but I have heard really bad thing about this particular salon, I have people telling me that the hairstylist are not nice at all, they never give you the correct haircuts or they mess up on the color ALL THE TIME, the owner I heard is REALLY SHADY and treats people "like shit", and also the owner only favors one stylist and that's her daughter Kaylin? I don't even know where to begin. The consultation means nothing. Basically, no matter what you ask or show the stylist, he or she will do what he or she wants. They make it seem like they don't have any secrets because of their "open color bar" or whatever, but unless you're a stylist yourself you won't know what they're doing. Even if they show you a swatch, they'll mix something they think is better for you and tell you after they've applied it. Or worse, show you a color and lie about how it will turn out. I realize that color takes differently to different hair, but in my experience, this was a flat out lie. And it's not like they'll pretend they did exactly what you asked of them, oh no! Once it's dry, they'll say something like, "I knew what was better for you. And you wanted color similar to that picture HA!" Also, no one even taught them how to brush hair. They'll rake through it from top to bottom like a three year old and wonder why your hair is giving them such a hard time and tangling at the ends. And they'll bluntly insult you. I was asked how long it took me to curl my hair, and the stylist chuckled and said "probably because you don't know what you're doing." Then it took the stylist the same amount of time to do it as I do! (Yes I timed it!) To top it off, it'll cost you an arm and a leg- more expensive than Charlotte salons! (And they flat out ask you before they do anything how much you want to spend. Like, no. You're supposed to have a price, I pay that, we don't haggle in the hair salon.) And when you tell them it wasn't even close to what you expected and you don't like the color, they want to make another appointment- full charge. I've never been a box dye person, but I have never wanted a nice natural dark brown as much as I do now. Needless to say, unless you're extremely and painfully blunt in the consultation and remind the stylist at every moment what you want exactly, you'll probably leave with a monstrosity that will take months to fade into something you can dye over. read more

I really liked how the stylists consulted with each other before she colored my hair. I was offered water, wine or a mimosa. She also massaged my scalp, shoulders and hands. The first time I visited this place, to get highliths the result was decent, not what I wanted, but at least a little ok, I decided to give it a second chance, this time I went to get balayage / highlights, the end result was very bad, This salon does not have Hairstylist professional enough for the price they charge.
