Our initial meeting was great; we grabbed a beer and talked everything through. Then, she sent me a Pinterest board with a bunch of flowers and visuals. I had no updates to make to the board, I just loved what she put together. We met again with Jess and Steph a few weeks before the wedding to go over details and make some adjustments because I kept adding stuff. I ended up accumulating most of what we put the flowers in (boxes, jars, bottles) and they let us drop those off a few days before the wedding. It was so nice not to have to deal with that in the last minute. They're so accommodating. It was also very exciting when I was at my rehearsal dinner and got a text of a picture of our altar arrangements. I want to point out that Jess and Steph are just cool gals! It was very important to my groom and I to have vendors that we'd want to hang out with, and these two are no exception. They are fun and a joy to be around. Not to mention they executed perfectly! The flowers were beautiful and looked great all night. I would absolutely hire them again for another event.

The first thing myself and others noticed was that Jimmy put a great amount of time into planning for our event, even though the video was going to be quite short. It was great to communicate with the Shot Time team frequently during the planning phase- it was apparent that they strive to create exactly what a customer is hoping for. Arriving early (in sub-zero temperature), the crew was clearly a group of professionals- making last minute adjustments, advising about camera angles/room lighting, and other aspects that we did not realize could affect the video. Everyone was impressed by the professionalism of the team and the quality of the video equipment. The event was a great success, and the final cut of the video that Shot Time created was fantastic. Does not work well with commitment, we had a wedding date and time in mind, we were expecting…read moresomeone willing to work with us, we needed his help in adding more time to a change done by our priest.....but this photographer denied us. He was not willing to work with us because he booked another party right after us, this has denied our ability to add more hours or change our time. Our preist changed our time due to an issue, We called our photographer to ask for a time change or add more time for his services but he denied us, He keep saying you only hired me for this time and thats its. Did not consider unexpected time change like this, his contract said we could hire him for extra time and compensate him accordingly, but once again refused us because he booked another party, according to his contract he would make no other reservations for that time and date, yet he booked another party, this was voiding our contract because he booked another party right after ours. He completely did not consider any possible delay we may have had for that day, bad weather, traffic or what not. If any of that had happend we would have lost out on photo time. What photographer books another party without considering potential delay? We needed him for addition time or work with us but he voided our contract by booking another party right after ours and said too bad you should have paid me for more time, he also refused to refund us our deposit after he voided our contract and claimed we canceled or changed time too late and to stop looking for a loop hole he will not refund us, he even stated go get your money from the priest. Wow, how professional. The nerve to even say that we should get our deposit refund from the priest because its his fault! DONT USE THIS UNPROFESSIONAL FRAUD.

Videography for a wedding is often viewed as "optional" rather than "essential." I am definitely in…read morethe camp of "essential." Everyone knows that hiring a good photographer is---and should be---paramount, but I cannot stress the importance of having your special day videographed. Pictures are wonderful, but cannot capture your voice cracking when you say your vows. Pictures don't let you hear the toasts at the reception, or all the other wonderful stuff you didn't see, or might miss because the day is such a blur. But the most important reason to hire a videographer is simply this: People don't live forever. A beloved family member of mine recently passed away, and thanks to Shangri-La Wedding Films, he is captured forever, just as I will remember him on that day--hearing his voice, seeing him laugh, and watching him alive and happy. That is truly priceless. So I urge you to make room in your wedding budget for a videographer. It makes spending all the other money worth it, I promise. There are many packages from which to choose, or simply customize what works best for you, including music that you personally select. About a month before our wedding, I learned that Shan was not going to be available to shoot our wedding. Having already signed a contract, that did not sit well with us. Brides know how stressful it can be and the last thing you want is to have to find another vendor. We worked it out and on the day of, Matt and Burt (Shan's fill-in) were friendly and professional. Shan was extremely patient and accomodating with the editing. We are so pleased with the end product. I encourage you to view some of their work and you will see how talented they are. I would also like to note that they are on the more affordable end. =)
