While they work on hourly consult rates which is a refreshing option for many of us, on a recent project, my business was clearly not valued. The justified reason is that a bigger client was requiring all their time. Customer Service 101. I pay my invoices on time and without question. I will set aside the sales tax issue which required multiple emails to be resolved. The last straw was the requirement to pay for a 4th consult by a sharp deadline or my consult would be canceled. What choice did I have? I will find an interior design firm that will appreciate my business.

My wife and I bought a house in PQ last September. The house was remodeled and updated in the…read moremaster bathroom and kitchen. Although the builders did some nice touches to the house, we weren't thrilled with it. To top it off, the furniture we had from our old house was boring, too matchy-match and cheap looking. Since our house was an upgrade from our last, we wanted to to things right and make it the house that we always wanted. We've watched HGTV and shows of the like that had interior makeovers and what not and we knew we wanted something like that done as well. We had no idea what to expect from working with an interior designer. We contacted a couple of designers before we contacted Jessica. The first two designers seemed uninterested with working with us. Not sure why but it could be the layout of the house, the size of the job or maybe just us that they felt they just didn't want to take on our project. Fine by us. We contacted Jessica. She was referred to us by my wife's co-worker. Jessica and Amy came out to our house and we just loved their energy and the way they handled things. They asked us questions about our preferences and ideas and from there they went to work. They always were available to us when we had questions and they always updated us in each phase of the project. We knew what we were spending and for what and where. They did our dining room, conversation room, master bedroom and living room. These were the rooms that were the focal point of the house and wanted to make it special when we entertain and have guests. They took our preferences and put together the most stunning designs from furniture to paint to everything else in between. We would have never thought of the color scheme, furniture selection, artwork or accessories that they put together. That's why they are the professionals! On the install day, we were in awe. We could not believe this was our house! Everyday we come home and we just sit here and pinch ourselves. We keep saying, "wow, this is our house!" And when we have parties and get together s, people are just in love with everything. We are so proud to live here. Jessica and Amy were a joy to work with. They listen, they act on it and they get things done. They were so worth it. Go with them, you will not be disappointed!

Over the last several years Jessica Tompane and her J Hill Interiors Design Group have evolved into…read morea world-class design organization. I most certainly would recommend the team to anyone embarking on a design project of their own. This was our second design project with Jessica. It came about as a result of our recent relocation to Columbus, Ohio. As it turned out the buyer of our condominium in San Diego purchased our unit 'as is' complete with all furniture and decorating items. That fact alone speaks volumes regarding the quality of our first project with Jessica. With this move, we were transitioning to a 5100 square foot home and were starting from scratch. To complicate the matter, our new home was in Columbus and the project was going to have to rely on some serious communication skills, strong remote coordination and commitment to the decorating plan, timing expectations and budget envelope. Jessica & her team knocked the ball out of the park. We couldn't be happier with the end result. Jessica has the ability to take a blank sheet of paper, pepper in client preferences, and then deliver an award winning design on-time and on budget. If I were to describe her attributes they might include: Creativity & innovation - She has the uncanny ability to walk into a space and immediately see the possibilities. It is as if she was simply born with the design gene. Balances cost/value - The one thing I like most about J Hill is that there is not a cookie-cutter approach. Based on a solid understanding of customer preferences and budget constraints, she delivers solutions. And, importantly her solutions are turnkey. We went from an empty house to a beautiful showcase home in just 8-10 weeks. On budget and on time. Always available / technologically advanced- Even being over 2000 miles apart presented no challenge. Through routine conference calls, videoconferences, email and site visits, it felt as though our designer was located right here in Columbus. Put simply, Jessica collaboratively assembles the plan and then executes it flawlessly. We have used a lot of designers in the past, but none that I would recommend over J Hill Interiors. If you are in the market for affordable design services that deliver tremendous value, you wont go wrong with Jessica Tompane and the entire J Hill Interior Design group.

I was both impressed with her sense of style and her professionalism. The process started with her visiting our home to get a general sense of our style and to interview us about the project. She asked thoughtful questions and took detailed measurements of our current space. With a short time we had the initial designs and was surprised how close to the mark they were. I was expecting a number of rounds of back and forth before we got to that point so it showed she really had an understanding of our priorities and style. Since this was our first project, and I'm a very detail oriented person, I had a lot of questions and really wanted to understand everything about the process. She was patient and prompt when answering my questions and going over the details, sometimes repeatedly. I really appreciated that because I know we weren't her biggest client. I was also impressed with her taking the initiative and working with our general contractor to make sure we where all on the same page. I then met with a few designers at Arizona Tile and everyone kept showing me stone backsplash or a white ceramic tile backsplash. I knew that wasn't the look I wanted for my kitchen but I had no idea what it was I was looking for. I wanted something light, bright, classic but with a sandy look as we live near the beach. I contacted Carole and she immediately had a suggestion to look at large glass tiles. She had a few at home for me to look at and then met me at Arizona Tile to pick the perfect color. She suggested I go with the 4x12 Matte Islandia Lanai tile and it was exactly what I was wanting. She then helped me find the perfect grout and suggested I do the traditional subway style to give me a more classic look. After weeks of debating, Carole helped me pick out and design my backsplash in under an hour. Two weeks later our fabricator went to pick up our two slabs and found out that our perfect countertop had been double sold and was on its way to Las Vegas. We were in a panic. This was going to delay our kitchen project weeks. I called Carole and she dropped everything and met me at Arizona Tile to go through numerous lots of similar slabs. Nothing was right. Some were too brown, others too green. Carole insisted that they bring out more slabs for us and we managed to find two slabs that were possibly even prettier than my original ones.
