My internist recommended the Bone Strong Pilates program, because she knew patients whose bone density had increased significantly because of participation in the Bone Strong program. It's too early to know if my bone density has improved. My next Dexa scan will be in June 2022. But I can attest to the other benefits of Holly's Pilates! I had never practiced Pilates before. But I am now a Pilates convert. I practice three times a week with three different instructors: 2 private sessions and 1 class. With each instructor I learn something different that enhances my Pilates practice. I am definitely stronger, fitter, and more flexible. Also I am sleeping better and overall have more energy and joy. Whatever my Dexa scan results show next summer, I will continue my Pilates regimen because it has greatly enhanced my life. Any improvement in my bone density, which I do expect, will be icing on the cake. I recommend Holly's Pilates Village enthusiastically and without reservation, whether or not you have osteoporosis.

This is my first experience with Pilates and I absolutely love it! I am rehabbing from a fractured…read morehip in late 2016--after almost 9 months on crutches (that caused 2 broken ribs to boot!), surgery, and tons of physical therapy, I was stuck in my recovery. A friend of mine who loves Pilates suggested I give it a shot and I am so glad that I did. I've been going twice a week since August and it has made a HUGE impact for me. I am starting feeling more balanced, developing a strong core, and having a lot less pain with daily activities. I won't lie, it's not cheap (these are private lessons) but it is 100% worth it to me to find something to help me quite literally get back on my feel and get moving again. There are 3 instructors and I've had them all. They all know a ton about body mechanics and can tailor your workout to address whatever issues you are having. They are also just nice people who made me feel very welcome even though I have serious weight issues and got very deconditioned during my recovery from my injury. They share notes on my sessions so there is great continuity no matter who I am seeing that day. The nitty gritty: The studio is well-equipped. There seems to be no end to the props and tools they find to help you get the most out of your workout. The studio is on the 6th floor across Michigan Avenue from the south end of Grant Park and there's a huge east-facing picture window with a spectacular view. Day or night, it's amazing. I drive to the studio and have not had any trouble finding street parking on either 11th or 9th streets (pay box is $4/hour). They use a convenient online appointment system that allows you to buy packages of classes, see your upcoming schedule, and make new appointments. In short, this place is the best. If any of this review resonates with you then you owe it to yourself to check it out. You won't be sorry.

TLDR: If you are weak and stiff, Briana can help…read more I used to be a frequent and enthusiastic yoga practitioner, until I got a chronic health condition that affects my joints. No more downward dog. After years of intermittently managing the illness, plus two kids and all the stresses associated with (*ahem*) "adulting," I finally decided to stop neglecting my health and get some help, before I lost more strength and joint function in my arms and wrists. I found Roots of Integrity because of its South Loop location. The studio is cozy and has a gorgeous view of the lake, which makes workouts feel very vital. I started with an intro/mixed package with Briana, and she worked with me to determine that Pilates was the right place to start. As an instructor, Briana is attentive, patient, knowledgable and a consummate professional. I enjoy our sessions, and after a few months, I have considerably more strength and extension in my arms, a noticeably stronger core, and--bonus!--my butt looks better. If you have challenges with your joints or musculoskeletal system, I highly recommend ROI's individual Pilates sessions. It is a significant investment, but the combination of physical support from the apparatus and psychological support from Briana will make the impossible feel possible.

Toxic, Predatory, and Downright Embarrassing -- Stay Away…read more Hotworx Jeffersonville is an absolute disaster. The second you walk in, it's clear this place cares about one thing and one thing only: money. The staff are pushy salespeople in gym clothes. Once they've locked you into a membership, the smiles vanish, and you're treated like an inconvenience. Customer service? Nonexistent. The treatment of employees is even worse. One of the best staff members they had--professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring--was tossed aside without explanation. Her name was Jazmyn, and she was the only reason I stuck around as long as I did. Apparently, being competent and dedicated is a liability in this toxic, high-school-clique environment. The owners prefer sycophants over actual talent. Speaking of the owners: they're ghosts who micromanage from a distance, totally clueless about what goes on day to day. They tolerate inappropriate staff-client relationships, yet punish the people who actually take the job seriously. Add in their outrageous fees, refusal to accommodate medical freezes, and zero transparency, and you've got a business model built on exploitation. And now, just to prove the point, they keep deleting my reviews. Let me be crystal clear: I will keep posting this everywhere--Google, Reddit, social media, anywhere I can--because people deserve to know the truth. Stop silencing honest feedback the same way you mismanage your business. Six months of this circus was more than enough. I get better workouts for free on YouTube and better respect from a Walmart cashier. Hotworx Jeffersonville is overpriced, unprofessional, and rotten from the top down. Save your money and your sanity--go anywhere else.

The low impact workout challenges me and helps me gain strength every time I take a class. The 4 multiple class formats help keep variety in the workouts so there is always a challenge, and the rewards are beyond the physical transformation I've noticed. I honestly leave class in a better headspace than when I came in, and can tell such a difference in taking that hour to focus on what I can do, with adjustments as needed. The instructors all help you adjust as needed so that you can get the most out of your workout, and encourage you to push as far as is safe. If you are down they follow up with you to be sure you are doing okay, which is not something I've experienced with other exercise opportunities. I've tried so many options over the years and this has really been the best experience overall!

The front desk staff is not good, and they're rude if you accidentally are running late. Although for some reason during Pride Week one of my classes started 3 minutes late, so I don't see the issue. You are locked into your membership for at least 3 months, and if you cancel early, there's a $200 penalty. If your card doesn't go through, there's a $15 penalty per attempt, and then they send collections after you. My new debit card took awhile to come in the mail and I had to pay penalties because of it. Paige is the only good teacher, so I guess that's why they did my trial class with her, because I haven't enjoyed the other teachers. Don't waste your money. You can do all of these workouts at home and see more results. Don't buy into their scam that you have to pay hundreds of dollars just to work out.
