I highly recommend trying and combining each instructor and the various classes provided at yoga circle for a wholistic practice. The three very unique teachers that have distinguished styles are Knekoh, Jacqui, and Rob. I love all three and each teacher serves a precise purpose to my yoga practice. Knekoh for my mindful meditation, Jacqui for a concentration of the body, and Rob for spiritual awakening. The other instructors are also great and are generally a hybrid of these three. If you're up for the challenge, source Yoga Circle as your place to complete the 200 hour yoga teacher training. I was in the 2020 class with Knekoh and Rob. Yoga Circle did a tremendous job at switching from real life training to virtual training. The quickness of the transition was impressive. Both Knekoh and Rob are incredibly dedicated to their students and their own practice. Both have polar yet complementing energies that make the TT special.

Some thoughts: - Thumbs up for the intimate environment and variety in classes instructional styles (I really appreciate how the instructors are keen on teaching different poses and providing tips). - I really enjoyed the therapeutic yoga class for neck and shoulders. - Knekoh is very welcoming and kind! - The high ceilings and natural lighting from the skylight windows contribute to a great ambience! - From a cleanliness standpoint, I also really appreciate that shoes are taken off upon entering :)

Koyasan Buddhist Temple is a small temple hidden within Little Tokyo. Our party came here on the…read moreNew Year Day (January 1st) and there was a long line for hatsumode (aka "first visit" - first visit of the year to a Buddhist temple or Shinto shrine taking place on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd day of the New Year). This temple was founded in 1912 and moved to the current location in 1940. This is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in the United States. [Parking]: No designated parking for the temple, but Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is located just one block away. [Waiting line]: The long waiting line is for visitors who want to pray inside of the temple. For anyone who want to buy souvenirs, then they can just walk directly into the front courtyard of the temple as there are separate lines to buy souvenirs. [Hatsumode]: Upon entering the temple, visitor can pay $5 donation for Goma-ki (write your wish and your name on the piece of wood and leave it on the table - it will supposedly be burned during a monthly ceremony Goma Fire Ritual at the last Sunday of each month outside of January). Once each person is done praying, then there's a wooden offering box for donation. No pictures are allowed inside of the temple. [Activities]: Other than hatsumode, the temple had Shusho-e (New Years Day) Service [with Mochi Presentation] on January 1st at 10 AM, New Year's Day Goma Service on January 1st at 2 PM, and Taiko Gohei Blessing Service / Goma Service throughout Jan 1st through Jan 3rd. [Classes]: Outside of hatsumode, the temple offers yoga class, Japanese calligraphy class, dharma class, tea with reverend, etc. throughout the year. [Souvenirs]: They sell omamori (Japanese amulets) , ofuda (talismans), ojuzu (Buddhist prayer beads), incense, arrows, etc. Heck they even sell Hello Kitty and Ultraman omamori. [Admission]: Free admission, but consider paying your respects with a donation in the large wooden offering box. [Conclusion]: This is one of few activities to do on the New Year Day and expect a huge crowd visiting for hatsumode. Our party stayed for approximately 45 minutes (including waiting time) and I definitely appreciate the tradition. Certainly worth a visit for anyone who is free on the New Year Day & would like to experience this annual Japanese cultural event.

I'd had a bad experience at the Pasadena studio with a girl named Megan, so I decided to try a different location, and I'm so glad I did. This studio is waaaay cleaner. The mat towels smelled fresh, everything felt sanitized, and the space was clearly well taken care of. My instructor, Jimmy, delivered an amazing workout, he incorporated moves I've never seen before and actually walked around correcting form, which is rare in larger fitness classes. He was fun, energetic, and really set the tone. Playlist was baddie certified! LOVED him! I also appreciated how well maintained everything was, soaps fully stocked, cozy studio rooms, and an overall vibe that felt intentional and inviting. I think this might be my new go to location. I don't even mind the drive :)

Cleanliness at this specific location could definitely be better maintained. The mat I rented that day was a bit smelly, and the towel was too, which wasn't great. That said, this has nothing to do with the staff.. the front desk is very friendly, and the instructor I had for yin was wonderful. No complaints there at all. I'd probably avoid this particular location moving forward though, that's all.
