Once upon a time, and for the longest time, Kodak was one of the biggest corporations in the world. It's logo - a simple letter K - was recognizable to everyone.
Then, the digital revolution happened and Kodak was not able to adjust fast enough to the changes taking place. Film was becoming obsolete, but Kodak insisted on sticking with its bread and butter business.
Today, Kodak is only a shell of its former self, but what remains is still around. The core business has moved from manufacturing and developing film and creating cameras to digital printing and scanning, slide printing and photo restoration.
Some dealers of Kodak manage to remain afloat, including Studio K located in Better Living Subdivision, Paranaque. I went there one time because I needed some ID pictures, and the service provided by this dealer was okay.
Studio K also does photocopying and large format printing of architectural and engineering plans.
For now, Kodak and its dealers like Studio K can expect to survive because they are able to provide services still considered essential. read more
