I've photographed Bruce Greenway's work for a number of years, and having spent a lot of time on…read morehis job sites, I've seen firsthand how his work goes beyond the finished product. When I chat with Bruce about a project he's asked me to photograph, he doesn't immediately point me to specific design choices he's made -- he first talks about his conversations with the homeowners, even before the project got started. So in effect, my photography ends up being guided by Bruce's listening approach: how genuinely he hears his clients, and how thoughtfully he respects the environment and geography each project sits in. Then I see it in his material choices -- locally sourced Douglas fir and cedar, green roofs seeded with native plants, overhangs positioned to manage light and heat naturally. These aren't aesthetic decisions made in isolation. They reflect someone who has paid close attention to place and to the people living in it. If you're looking for an architect genuinely driven by shaping your wishes into a new home or stunning renovation, I'd recommend Bruce in a heartbeat.
