My girlfriend went in for a trim up and highlighting job. She was quoted $72. That's fine. All good so far. When all was said and done she did not get the cut she asked for, she did not get the color she asked for, and when she messaged them to ask if they would fix it, they ignored her and blocked her from messaging them further over facebook. Also the final price was $270 dollars. Never would I recommend them to anyone. read more

I have a background in photography, so when I saw Paul's work on display at the Sea Ranch Lodge I was completely mesmerized. Never before have I been inspired to the point of actually purchasing photographic art. I went into Gualala to meet Paul and see his gallery. What a nice man. I got a 12 X 18 on metal ready to hang for only 169$ !! And the larger 16 X 24 was only about 100$ more. He even gave me a greeting card with the same image I bought. He must have the same taste as I do because the same image is on his business card too.Superb work, and sooo worth the money. My husband, friend, and I visited Studio 391 recently. Paul Kozal, the owner, was friendly and engaging. His photography is stunning.

Running an art studio along the N California coast can't be easy. I'm awarding Studio 391 five stars for putting forth the effort to set up, supply, and run a business that supports artists and presents the rich variety of arts produced by local talent. The art is worthy too. We purchased a metal printing by Paul Kozal, who transforms photographs of scenes from Gualala to Sea Ranch into beautiful metal photographs. Put them under bright light at your house and their iridescence is striking. Other artists' works are on display, which capture a wide variety of styles and media. Stop here, spend 10-30 minutes, and support the arts, which is part of the tapestry of the Gualala area experience. read more

This is a must see when you go to Gualala. Paul's work is perfection. We were there over Labor Day and he had a 10% off sale. We bought a picture that is 5 feet wide with the most amazing colors and perfection. Not to be missed! read more

My husband and I love to collect art..but we're on a middle-class budget. That can be a challenge. Studio 391 had many beautiful, unique artworks that we could afford. I loved the creative displays of photography...printed on metal, glass, even aluminum cans (I can't give the last one justice with a verbal description, but it was magnificent!). We purchased a luminous photo of mushrooms, printed on metal, by owner/artist Paul Kozal. We also bought one of Maynard Hale Lyndon's amazing photo boxes...3d photo collages in wooden boxes, very hard to choose just one! We really enjoyed the display of Karen Shapiro's ceramic Pop Art (Spam cans, M&Ms, prozac pill, much more)...wish we could have brought one home. Paul Kozal was very warm and down-to-earth. He explained the techniques behind all the work, not just his own, and seemed to enjoy talking about the art (rather than pushing a sale). As a bonus, we also learned a lot about local mushrooms!
