Carly has a full photography studio right in her home! She welcomed us and got right to work at our scheduled appointment. Part of our package included makeup assistance, which was greatly appreciated by this sleep deprived first-time mama. They were all fresh and clean, organized by color. She also provided all different kinds of props, etc. as accents. She was extremely sweet and from that phone conversation alone I could tell she had a true passion for wedding photography. Pamela wasn't just my wedding photographer, she was a friend. I booked her about a year in advance and she checked in periodically throughout that year. We had several interactions leading up to the day (phone, email, in person) where she spent time helping me plan the ends and odds of my wedding, she even helped me come up with my wedding timeline. She also visited my venue to brainstorm ideas before the big day and even sent me an itinerary. She really thinks of everything! I hired 1000 word photography for my engagement party and was very disappointed with the result…read more The pictures were poorly taken and had very dark backgrounds. I had specifically raised my concerns regarding the lighting, since my party was held indoors. Bryan assured me that would not be an issue, as he would bring his equipment. I imagined he would bring his own lighting equipment, which was not the case. The pictures clicked by my friends were far better quality and they captured some of the important moments that Bryan failed to do. Bryan is a very nice person to work with. He is professional , punctual and courteous, however, the pictures I received were poorly captured. Some snaps had wires and poor flooring captured in the frame, which I feel he could have strategically avoided. A lot of our guests entering the function hall had their backs clicked, and I only wish, he would have told us to turn around. I choose 1000 words photography because of the excellent reviews he had, his professionalism and the pictures he posted on his website. I also hired him for video, which I haven't received yet, while the contract clearly states that I would get them in 28 days. The videographer did not even have a mic with him, hence I am not sure if my parent's speeches were captured. What kind of video is taken without recording the family speeches? I spent way over my budget on photo and videography just to get really beautiful pictures, and I was asked to make full payment 2 weeks before the event. The snaps of my engagement party were so disappointing that I had to share my experience for anyone considering 1000 words photography as their photographer (or for videography).
