Basically, this place is a free-for-all for elementary and younger middle school students. Also, the bathrooms. Hit or miss. First day, one had ants and another one had poop. Last day, everything was clean and well-stocked. I realize that that's up to the janitorial staff of the host school and not S&K, but that is an area for improvement. With that said, Jenbert Jr 1 (6.5 years, entering 1st grade) had so much fun here. On her first day she played soccer, read in the library, made a bracelet, played interactive games with the counselors, went down the slip & slide, and played on the playground. She came back with an equally big smile on her face after the second day talking about finding Chucky the chicken, all the games she played, and pieing volunteers in the face. Jenbert Jr 1 is usually a fussy eater but she liked a lot of the meals here. She enjoyed the rest of her time here and can't wait to come back next year. As a parent, I love the flexibility, variety of activities (both the core and rotating), and the fact that nut-free lunch and snacks are provided. There are also veg and GF options. I also like that you only pay for what you use. We are looking forward to returning in 2027!

My kid and her friend registered for the last week of summer camp. When things finally opened, there were extremely long lines, and they were unable to participate in any activities except for a 20-minute sewing session before being excused for lunch. They were repeatedly told to return an hour later on many activities, so they tried the library, which was closed, and then searched for athletic equipment like balls or anything, only finding none that weren't already being played with. In essence, the kids were left with no options and were forced to sit around and observed other kids doing the same, which is not what we expected from what was advertised. I understand that the camp has a high number of kids the last week of summer, but it should not compromise their overall experience. I had to pick them up early because they literally had nothing to do. I am a working mom and was really hoping this camp would have worked out for them for the next day. Therefore, I requested a full refund but nobody ever got back to me about it. Super disappointing and a fair warning for others who are looking to enroll in this summer camp in the future.

They help the scouts by bringing together counselors from like 50 merit badges to work with the scouts to learn new skills and topics. The camp offered Robotics last year and the scouts actually got to build little robots. The robots kind of reminded me of the movie Johnny 5 from the 80's or 90's. They also do Nuclear Science and other stuff. Not only do the scouts learn a lot... they have fun.

Amanda and Rachel were incredible from start to finish. I was so worried planning my daughter's 2nd birthday, and they were unbelievably patient with me, answering every question, easing my stress, and reassuring me that everything would be perfect. And it truly was. They helped me pick a theme and made sure there were activities that appealed to both boys and girls, with age-appropriate options for kids ranging from 1 to 8. They were also so accommodating that they let me set up a small pseudo "tat-two" studio to celebrate her turning two, which was such a hit and made the day feel even more personal and fun. I tried to cancel in person multiple times, and there was never anyone available to actually take care of it. Then, after trying to cancel, I'm hit with random, ridiculous charges anyway. How convenient. It should not be this difficult to cancel a membership. You shouldn't have to repeatedly show up, find out nobody can help you, and then deal with more charges afterward. Honestly, the whole experience has left such a bad taste in my mouth. They make it incredibly easy to take your money and ridiculously difficult to stop them from taking it. They have a pavilion area, dance floor, mirrors, tall ceilings and huge windows. I attended a 50th birthday, parking was easy, they had a kitchen, staff was super friendly and helped with the garbage when it got full. I bet it gets busy trying to rent out this venue for events but I enjoyed it and if you're looking for a venue in the East Bay/Concord area, this is a great spot!
