Best honey supplier in mid-Florida. They run a retail store that uses the honor system for payment. CASH only.

It's the honor system - hop off the highway - grab your honey and leave the cash Well worth the stop! read more

This is a family Business been there a long time. We drive from the East Coast from Stuart Fl. To get Honey from there. We get two 1/2 gallons at a time. We love this Honey the people and Bees that work hard to make it. They have a little store that is self service so bring cash. Honey has many attributes so a few miles is worth it. I am not sure if they still ship might say on the website. read more

Honey. Excellent honey. What more can I say? This sweet shop has been around for about 80 years and still operates on the honor system. Stop by, grab a bottle of Orange Honey and drop your cash on the slot! Easy Peasy. read more

Great Honey, clean and very quaints and on the honor system with a book to signing is optional

Great honey, no line. Pick what you want and go. Drop in the cash in a whole. It's a bit far for me so I try to get the big one so it lasts longer. read more

Perfect lil stop on your central Florida road trip! The roadside sign and exterior may give the illusion that the store is out of commission--but I'm pretty sure it's just the same building and sign from when they first opened in 1935! There's a little dirt parking lot out front and a small interior. Walls are filled with family photos of the Struthers bee-keeping through the decades and the shelves are lined with house-made honey products. My family has been coming here for years to buy their honey and pollen--the little honey bears make great teacher's gifts/stocking stuffers and the pollen is a 10/10 add to a smoothie. This time we tried the candies--different flavored hard shells with a generous honey center! The lemon and oranges ones are my favorite. There's no attendants inside so you pay on the honor system in the big box. There's a log book to the right where you fill out what you bought and how much you paid. Prices are very inexpensive across the board for high quality, family-owned, locally-made honey goods--you'll never find something this good for this price at a chain grocery store. BEE-lieve me, you won't drive away empty handed! read more

The retail store is very small. Various sizes. Limited display. Self serve and a cash box because it has no attendant. Building is ran down and lots of junk outside. The honey is raw. Nothing to see here. read more

Fantastic honey at a reasonable price! Honor system...God bless. Whenever we are in the Lake Wales area we stock up on their honey

Best honey! Been going here since I was a kid and it hasn't changed and I hope it never does

Honey is the perfect food - Honey is an Anti-Bacterial, Anti-Viral, Anti-Fungal Substance which helps boost immunity and never spoils it was often referred to as the nectar of the Gods. Struther's Honey is classified as Orange-blossom Honey, because of it's combination of citrus sources, it's light in color, mild in flavor with a fresh fruity scent, and a fragrant citrusy taste and delicious. Why do I love honey - one reason is because it's the perfect condiment for fried chicken one of my favorite foods (2 tablespoons of honey / 6 shakes of Louisiana Hot Sauce and you have something magical) but there are other reason too. A cure for what ails you - a shot of whiskey with a drop or two of honey (repeat as needed I don't know if it's a cure for anything but you won't mind having the sniffles) Biscuit Butter - blend equal parts of butter and honey spread on hot biscuits (especially good with a side of fried chicken) Belly Fat Melting - boil one cup of water for five minutes with 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon once it cools to room temperature stir in 1 teaspoon of honey and drink up (great in the mornings or between meals) The honey here is perfect for these and thousands of other remedies, old wives tales, cures and brews or make up your own just make sure you choose raw over pasteurized, all honey isn't created equal that's why these roadside honey stands are sooooo important... read more

I Love The Honor System. Although It's Not Preferable. The Honey Is Made From Bees Feeding From Orange Trees So It Tastes Extra Floridian. There Was Absolutely Nobody There So You Just Put Your Money In A Big Box, Grab Your Honey, And Write Your Purchase Info In The Little Book. If You Are Wondering, They Don't Accept Venmo, Card, Or Anything Other Than USD Bills (Cash). So If You Want To Taste Florida In One Meal, Buy A Freshly Squeezed Glass Of Orange Juice, A Cuban Sandwich, And A Whole Bottle Of This Here Honey. read more

When I lived in Florida, I loved the honor system and the honey is the best, orange blossom.

I just happened to see this Honey place on Apple Maps while we were getting ready to pass. It's pretty awesome that they use the honor system. Cash only. It's just a small shop, but there are several sizes for different prices. We got a 3lb jug listed at $18, and left $20. read more

Nothing else to say. Local business. Real honey. Use the honor system and leave a little extra. Once a year we buy 2-2 pound bottles. Also pick up some candy as well. Political stuff is not up my alley, yet who cares? Great honey and honest people! read more

I am so disappointed. we have been buying here for many years. we live in TX and my parents bring us some when they visit. the last two that we have gotten we have had to throw out. they crystalized and got hard :( you have changed how you make it i guess and it is no longer pure honey as that never goes bad or crystalized. please go back to the old way. it has always tasted so good. read more

This honey is the best. We visited some friends in the area and they brought us there and we have been buying since. The fact that they also ship is an added bonus as we moved out of FL over 5 years ago and we still order from them. Praying that God continues to bless them. read more

We have passed by this place so many times and wondered about it. When I read a Yelp review awhile back, I said we are absolutely stopping the next time we are heading east on state road 60. So here we are with the rain pouring down and we are buying honey. The door is open 8 am to 8 pm. As it's been stated, everything is in the honor system. Following the people who signed in before us, we wrote our name and city down plus what we bought and the amount. We decided on a 24 ounce honey bear for $7. The smallest size was one pound for $5. So we saved 50 cents per quantity by buying the larger size. I think this is a relatively bargain price for natural, raw/wild honey. And we are hoping the honey tastes as good as it looks! You put your money in the slot as others have shown. By the way, they also have two very clean bathrooms -- should you need to use the facilities -- one for women and one for men. read more

This place has been open for sooo long and we love it. However I wish that they could have a better system as to get the $$ we pay for the honey. This morning, a lady was there at the same time we went and we paid and logged in their journal. By the time we entered our car, she was out of the store with 2 gallons... my granddaughter believes that this lady did not pay at all!!!!! Very sad that there are human beings like this lady..... read more

This place has good honey! It's a self service honey store based on the honor system. The prices are marked on the containers and you fold the money and put it in this little slot. Really cool! They have various sizes of honey ranging from 12 oz to 6 lb containers. They also have raw bee pollen for $7. A 6 lb bottle of Honey is $30. 2 lb of Honey is $11 1 lb of Honey is $6. They even have honey candy for $5. So the prices are reasonable. They can ship up to 6 lb jugs for $30. They accept only cash and personal checks. read more

You walk into Publix or any other grocery store and hit the produce section... Do you search for the rotten tomatoes, bruised bananas and discolored lettuce? Of course not; you go for the freshest and heartiest produce you can find. Same thing goes with honey... and there is nothing fresher than straight from the source. I happened to be traveling from Tampa to South Florida about 10 years ago (a trip I made many times). Bored of the typical Interstate 75 route I decided to take back roads and small town highways; and so glad I did because in the middle of nowheresville was Struther's Honey. A very unassuming building with exception of "HONEY" posted for every passing car to take notice (and I did). Being the adventurer I pulled in to check it out; I'm not even the biggest honey fan. I thought I'd get a lesson into the art of beekeeping. Unfortunately, I got no such education and a tour was out of the question. As a mater of fact, the grounds felt abandoned (although clean) but there was no one around. The front door to Struther's Honey was partially opened so naturally I entered to be greeted by.... no one. The door opened to a "help yourself" store and everything from small bottles of honey to gallon jugs of honey to bees wax and honey combs was done on the honor system. Basically pick what you want on the shelves, everything is marked with a price and slip your money into the little slot in the wood box in the middle of the room. The walls are littered with beekeeping information (bees, pollen, royal jelly, honey) and accompanied with photographs to back it all up... this was the closest I was getting to a tour and education; and frankly it was plenty for me. Over the past 10 years, majority of my road-trips to Tampa are accompanied with a stop here. CONFESSION: one time I came in and grabbed a few small bottles (to give to family and friends) and I "oops"; because I only had large bills... do I say "oh well" next time or do I "steal" the honey. Truthfully, anyone can walk in and walk out with anything they want and not pay. I ended up leaving a letter in the money box stating what I took and how much I owed, after all no one was around to ask first. I did mail the cash to them and shockingly received a thank you letter for the integrity. read more

We found this place years ago when we were traveling across the center of the state. I thought my fiancé was joking when he wanted to pull into a building that said "Honey" in the middle of nowhere along State Road 60. We pulled up in front of the place and there was two buildings and there were beehive boxes all over the place. At the end of the main building it looks like a porch that would be on the front of someone's home, so we went in. I thought we would learn about honey or talk with one of the people there and of course buy some, but there was no one. There was just a big wood box with a slit in the top for you to drop the money in after you pick whatever honey you want. It's so nice and refreshing to see people trust other people with a business on the honor system. After so many years coming here, I like to brag and say that I finally did meet someone from struthers when I came one day and a person was restocking the shelves. They were very nice and it just made me want to come back on my next trip. In honor system store the walls have lots of articles from newspapers and magazines about them and they also have a lot of educational information about bees and honey. I've even brought my kids here and they really appreciated it too. read more

God bless this amazing family of 4th generation beekeepers. Mr. Struthers kept his bees on our property, and he was always so giving every year to give us honey. Since we've moved, I just can't find raw honey with this level of perfection. There's no doubt that the Struthers family have the secret to producing what is considered the best of the best, with prices that are so reasonable. Oh, how we miss that phenomenal honey. We pray for y'all that God would continue to bless y'all in fathomless measure with good health, safety, and continued success. read more

After many years of crossing the state from one coast to the other I can finally tell you how incredible this little honey house is! Off the road in state road 60 you will see this White House and when you open the door you will find a box in the middle of the room with a small slip through for customers to use a "honesty drop", you take your product and insert the cash for its value in the box. There is a small podium where you can write your purchase and a message for the day. When I started college I stumbled on this location and when I shared it with my family... Now it's tradition to spread the word to friends and family and we stock up whenever we can! It's such a lovely thing to taste it's richness and know it comes from someone's backyard. Try it out of you ever find yourself heading to Tampa - Haines city- or Winterhaven you will not regret it. CASH ONLY read more
