She was punctual, professional, and most importantly so loving with our pets. She managed our 17 week old puppy's high energy, our senior dog, and even won over one of our cats who never comes out for people he doesn't know well! The updates she sent were wonderful, thorough notes about potty breaks, playtime, naps, and even how the cats got involved with the rope toy. She captured adorable photos of each of them that gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. You can really tell she treats every animal like her own and balances fun, structure, and care perfectly. We felt completely comfortable and confident leaving our animals in her hands. Highly recommend and we will absolutely be booking with her again!

We currently have our third and fourth Dirk's Dogs. Linc and Fitz are Great Pyrenees and were…read moreadopted as a bonded pair. Large dogs are not for everyone, Linc is 125 lbs. and Fitz is 130. But they are sweet and gentle as can be. Good with children and other dogs. If you want more than one dog, I highly encourage you to adopt a bonded pair. It is interesting because they cannot stand to be separated, but I think they bonded more strongly to us as a result. One of the nice things about adopting from Dirk's is the dogs and potential adopters are vetted very well. When we adopted our first, a volunteer was out walking Dakota. He warned me that Dakota might not warm up to me, as he was a bit shy. I sat on the ground and talked to him and within two minutes he was in my lap. The volunteer said it looks like he picked you. When we went to talk to Mr. Tillay he told us Dakota would do better with another dog in the house and that the liked puppies. I went into a run with him and a dozen puppies. Dakota picked our Louie. Where else do the volunteers know the dogs so well? When we adopted Linc & Fitz, Mr. Tillay encouraged us to look at them. We talked with the Volunteer who knew them best. It was love at first sight. Some people find the owner vetting a bit off putting, but I think it is for the best. The organization just wants to be sure the adaptor and pets are a good match. If you decide to go look, take the time to talk with the volunteers about the dogs and their personalities. If you are looking for a Large Breed Dog, I highly encourage you to visit Dirk's.

This is the third time someone I know was turned down by these people for absolutely no reason she went up and visited this dog and fell in love with him. They want these babies to have a good home but yet when a decent person wants to adopt one they put her and her fiancé through a million hoops then gave the dog to someone else. SHAME ON EVERYONE OF YOU THERE. I will NEVER PROMOTEthis place TO ANYONE EVER AGAIN. They are ridiculous. Also I will tell anyone they will listen exactly what they do, that dog would have had more love than he could stand my daughter and her fiancé are the best fur baby parents there are. So then they adopted him out to someone with another dog ( which is also not allowed) now the poor baby is back at the shelter confused. Oh and the most rude and hateful is this woman named Diane she hangs up on people, she blocks people so they don't know the name of the rude person BUT that's her name she's despicable avoid her and this place.

Honestly not great experience…read more Everytime I pick up my dog he poops everywhere which concerns me because, are they walking him at all or does he sit in his kennel most of the time? He's incredibly anxious at pick up and panting the entire ride home. Does he get enough exercise? I wouldn't know because to inquire about his day it's an extra 10 dollar fee. The groomer never gave him a bath, only got half of his body bathed but my dog wouldn't let them do his underside, butt or let them touch his paws so they stopped the bath. If a service isn't being done completely why would I still get charged? Y'all could be more transparent with your pricing so people aren't blindsided with things on pickup.

Boarded my 30 lbs Miniature Aussie for 7 days. Website/app…read morestates boarding costs $53. Then they insist that an additional $22 is added to let your dog out to play for 20 minutes every day ($66 an hour to let your dog run around in their fake grass). Now we're at $75 a day. They also have a "Peak Lodging Pricing" which is not told to you, you just have to know about it and where to find it; this cost is an extra $9 for each day which if you look at their calendar is 50% of the year. I asked why and they said it's because of increased boarding. Sorry, but my costs shouldn't change at all with that issue. This cost should not be the customers burden, the company needs to manage how many people they need to meet the needs of the business. Now we're at $84 a day. They charged me for one "play time" on the day I dropped my dog off at 4pm when they close at 5pm. They charged me another "play time" on the day of pickup even though he was getting a bath and picked up at 10:30am. They admitted they falsely charged me for the drop off and refunded me. For grooming I was verbally quoted a price around $65 for my dog (25-50 lbs cost between $64 and $89); I was charged $80. Not sure how they do math but that didn't seem legitimate as he's a small dog with not long or matted hair. To summarize, this establishment does everything they can to charge you for nothing being provided. My boarding cost during my 7-day vacation cost $735 (Basically $100 per day). I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE FOR PET BOARDING IF WANT HONEST COST FOR SERVICES PROVIDED.

His cat had a possible upper respiratory infection and an oozing wound on shoulder. The wound had matted fur covering the would from the drainage. The vet did not even clip the hair to look at or clean the wound. She gave the cat an antibiotic shot and said maybe that would take care of both issues. The wound is no better, still matted and oozing. I suppose they would charge another $70 plus now to do what should have been done during that visit. The second cat received a bottle of eye drops that they charged $75 for, the drops are over the counter and I could have purchased them for $30 from Chewy! Will be looking around for a new vet.

I worked at Designer Dogs for a period of time (3 months), and the owner has a very cute entry…read moreroom, but won't show people the back areas. She has a penchant for imbibing "spirits" during the day (look in the refrigerator), and treats the dogs very poorly while there. She doesn't want to dull the blades on the clippers, so she bathes matted dogs, and then has others try to get the snarls and tangles out after they are set in. It's excruciating for some of the dogs. She is very rough with the dogs she grooms, and frequently loses her temper with them. The daycare area is seldom cleaned up, and if older dogs are there, they are left at the mercy of other dogs pestering them and are kept on the cold concrete (no toys or blankets) and not separated into any special place. Dogs that stay over don't get clean bedding, (if they even have bedding), even though she says they do. When she goes off to dog shows, the dogs have been left without food, and the 'help" has had to buy food for the dogs with their own money. It is not a place I would ever keep my dogs at, knowingly, without staying with them and certainly can't recommend for anyone who has an older dog for them to stay there. Also, even the younger dogs have no supervision and in the play area are allowed to pick on each other. Don't be deceived by her charm in the front greeting area! Take your dogs elsewhere!
