I have been attending Strongside since Aug 2016. I have found an incredible community of people who support everyone in their personal fitness journey no matter where they started. The owner, Mitchel Black, is an incredible coach! The day after I joined when I would walk in the door, he greeted me by name. He takes the time to listen to you and then to tailor your workout to your fitness level. All of the coaches at Strongside are fantastic and very supportive. In January, I broke my leg and I was afraid that my "fitness journey" would have to be put on hold. However, Mitchel has taken the time to modify every single workout to accommodate my injury. During the CrossFit Open one of the other coaches, Alan Campbell, suggested I follow the WheelWOD modifications. I was so excited that they (the coaches) were looking for ways to keep me involved and part of the bigger community. I'm not really a gym class person. I tended to join a gym with the best intentions but eventually I would just stop going. Im not sure if it's boredom from doing the same thing over and over or just not getting results . I learned about Strongside and thought it would be just another place to try . However this place is so -very - different . I have never felt really comfortable in the gym but here ( it's been almost a year ) I feel like I have my own personal trainer . I never thought in such a short time I could see such improvements in strength and endurance. I'm in my late 40's and I'm seeing real results. It's something different each day and every member really welcomed me , encouraged me and they still do. I'm glad I wasn't afraid to get the Groupon and give it a try ! I really look forward to going to class and I never thought I would feel that way about working out ( I'm not someone who before I started Strongside enjoyed working out ) This is truly an amazing place and I definitely recommend it for any age and any level of fitness. read more

There are not enough good things I can say about this place. I originally went in just to take a look because my wife was interested, but it has become my home away from home. As someone who has never been very athletically capable, I was intimidated at first by all the clanging metal and people jumping around being beasts. But after taking one class with the incredible people at Strongside I was hooked. Mitchel and the coaches at Strongside are truly knowledgeable and, almost more importantly, they care about everyone that walks in that door. Literally, every day I walked in I was greeted with a "what's up Zach!" It's refreshing that the coaches remember what I'm struggling with and what my goals were. Even down to asking how a certain movement was treating my shoulder because that coach remembered that I had mentioned an old shoulder injury. Strongside makes you feel like more than a number on a members list. I have never been in better shape physically or mentally and I owe so much of it to Strongside! read more

After a lot of encouragement from my neighbor, I decided to buy the Groupon so I could come workout at Strongside. It only took one visit and I was hooked. I never enjoyed working out at gyms and always felt so alone and confused, but not at Strongside. There's nothing but encouragement, camaraderie and friendly competition to get better, feel better and be better. Even though there are other people in class, I feel as though I have my own personal trainer. My progress over these last 2 months has been wonderful and I can't wait to see where I'll be next year. After doing crossfit at my original box for a few years something was missing and i didnt know what. i started to hit a wall. For the first time in my life I started getting tired of crossfit and lost my drive to even want to workout. I started losing interest and didnt know why. One day i decided to switch locations and give another box (Strongside) a try. Little did i know, I was missing the real crossfit community and was sold short on the experience at my old location . I was so jaded by the idea of a "crossfit" gym. But I gave it a try after driving by it on my way to get my 700 calorie drink at Starbucks. Best decision I have ever made was to join this gym. I have a supportive community, a group of people that are behind me in my effort to become better, and an adopted family essentially! I love the gym, I love my friends, and I love this sport. I have been a member for almost 4 weeks and let me tell you , it is a game changer ! This gym is Crossfit friendly and I never thought this would be the type of gym for me ! I don't know any of the moves or the lifts, yet each day I am encouraged to come back by The coach, Mitchel , and the members . This is not a "cliquey" gym!
