SPIN is the only real core cardio that all ages can do and they cancel it. Poor quality "healthy food" cheese wiz on stale chips. 5 day old broiled chicken on premade salad from days before. Food $$$ & no outside food or drink allowed. Shakes taste a 5 on a scale of 1-10. After taste that keeps you from finishing the whole shake. Each shake $11- $15 Staff is nice, but limited in helping you. Price is set. Memberships very complicated. I've trained in gyms all over the world and all over the states and I can honestly say that this is by far my favorite one. It showcases the true identity that rests behind what golden era Gold's is really about. Good old lifting. The Mecca for those who wish to better themselves. Great equipment, dumbbell weight goes up to 180lb which is impressive and rare, really nice staff, very clean, and the most important is that there are no silly policies. People go there to sweat and work! I've been a member a year now and will keep my membership for as long as I live here. Thanks Gold's!

But frankly, if my dealings yesterday…read moreexemplify current management ....hmmmm Two days ago I received an email from a sales rep inviting me to renew my membership. Without haggling, we struck a deal for thirteen months. I went in yesterday to pre-pay and sign papers. Because of a family emergency the gal I dealt with was out, so Paris -- he said he's the manager -- took over. Right out of the gate he said that he will not honor the thirteen month deal, his employee was not authorized to offer it, blah blah blah. I reminded him that she DID agree, and since she represented the company, they have an obligation to follow through with her commitment. (For what it's worth, I've been a satisfied member for over a decade and have always received additional months and a competitive rate, as incentive to renew.) Paris finally agreed to the thirteen months, but made an issue that they will NEVER do that again, and it will be written into my contract. (He repeated this a number of times, like I'm a child who's being punished.) I walked into Gold's, in a good mood. I walked out, kind of disgusted. Seriously, is this the way to treat any client?! And if current policy prohibits extra months gratis, shouldn't their sales reps be apprised? This guy representing the gym should really take a refresher course in Customer Service 101. ADDENDUM: Several evenings later, Paris called to apologize. That's fine. As nobody else who strikes deals, has the "no future extended months" clause specifically written into their contracts, management should certainly delete it from mine.
