So I say I LITERALLY dove in blind on this gym. It hit all the boxes I needed 1 close to my house-Check 2. Had a pool- Check. It wasn't until I came in for my initial visit I knew I was in the right place. I know anyone who struggles with their weight can have a really hard time walking into the gym and seeing so many different bodies, but most of them slimmer than your own. I was prepared to have that feeling, BUT it never came. I have been going 3 times a week for about a month now, and I am learning so much. BUT best of all I am ALWAYS greeted so kindly and anytime I have a question like, what supplies do I need for a particular class, what is RED THERAPY, what is towel service, and all kinds of others questions I met with a smile and an answer. I do have to also say the Locker rooms are SPOTLESS. I swim when I go so I usually have to take a shower to get the chlorine off. I have NEVER been disappointed with the cleanliness of the locker rooms. If I could give the ONELIFE in Woodstock a 6 out of 5 I would.

Without haggling, we struck a deal for thirteen months. I went in yesterday to pre-pay and sign papers. Because of a family emergency the gal I dealt with was out, so Paris -- he said he's the manager -- took over. Right out of the gate he said that he will not honor the thirteen month deal, his employee was not authorized to offer it, blah blah blah. I reminded him that she DID agree, and since she represented the company, they have an obligation to follow through with her commitment. (For what it's worth, I've been a satisfied member for over a decade and have always received additional months and a competitive rate, as incentive to renew.) Paris finally agreed to the thirteen months, but made an issue that they will NEVER do that again, and it will be written into my contract. (He repeated this a number of times, like I'm a child who's being punished.) I walked into Gold's, in a good mood. I walked out, kind of disgusted. Seriously, is this the way to treat any client?! And if current policy prohibits extra months gratis, shouldn't their sales reps be apprised? This guy representing the gym should really take a refresher course in Customer Service 101. ADDENDUM: Several evenings later, Paris called to apologize. That's fine. As nobody else who strikes deals, has the "no future extended months" clause specifically written into their contracts, management should certainly delete it from mine.

I called in October 2022 to cancel my membership after a knee surgery and whoever took the call did not complete the process and there was no record of that cancellation. Today, 02/18/2025, I spoke with the so-called General Manager, Kevin and he told me that it was my word against Planet Fitness. I was charged over $270 for a membership that I did not use in over 2 years plus a request over the phone they did not complete. This guy took no responsibility to this issue and stated that he doesn't care because it was my word against them plus, he said they get several of this complaint - No wonder why?...whoever hired him for that position is making a huge mistake. I will continue spreading the word about this location and this management team, especially the General Manager Kevin.
