Moir Construction - BEFORE

Moir Construction

Moir Construction did truly excellent work rebuilding the roofdeck at our house. David Moir's…read moreadvice on materials resulted in a project that exceeds our expectations. The interior plastering and painting that his team did are very beautiful, as are the repairs to the exterior siding and door surrounds. We had hoped that our project would be straightforward--a leaking tile roof over a sunroom--but when extensive dry rot was discovered Moir's team moved to do the required demolition and reconstruction without delay. They did not miss a beat. Everyone on the crew was a pleasure to work with. Every day they cleaned up their tools and the work site before leaving, and always arrived on time the next day. We compliment each and every one of the Moir crew. We offer our highest recommendations for Moir Construction to friends, family, and neighbors. When we have another remodeling project we will call David Moir.

His crew of professionals (electrician, plumber & cabinet maker/installers) did a great job and were all reasonably priced. He took great care to ensure there was no mess and our tile floors were protected during demolition and construction. David was very responsive with communication throughout the process. Highly recommend.

Since I live in Portland, I needed someone I can call to do various repairs as necessary. I found Jared on Yelp, liked his reviews and gave him a try. He was very attentive to my needs and displayed a very professional and knowledgeable manner which I liked very much. I gave him a to do list of various repairs some very easy and some more complicated. He was very clear on his pricing and attended to the repairs quickly. My son lives at the property and informed me that Jared was great and the repairs are perfect! Jared made it clear that he would always try to find the most cost effective fix when possible. My invoice from him was complete and reasonably priced. I am exceedingly happy with Thayer Construction and can recommend that highly.

I work in property management and I have used this company for a number of jobs. Most of our…read moremaintenance work is done in-house, but we have used them when our maintenance supervisor is on vacation (or swamped) and for extensive projects. Brian is the main contact and he is always very professional and returns my phone calls promptly. When he has hired help, he always chooses professional and courteous people, which is very important in my line of work since they will be working in/around tenants' homes. Brian is very knowledgeable and versatile. Here are a few examples of the things we have had him do: Painting: We have used him for interior painting numerous times. He did a quick and excellent job. There was no overspray like you get with some painters. He cleaned up after himself. Fences: He tore down/hauled away old fences and installed and stained new ones on 60 patios, which was an extensive project. Though his bid came in slightly more expensive than another company, we used him because we knew he did quality work. When you are spending thousands of dollars on a project, you want to make sure that you're getting something that lasts. He works very quickly and efficiently. Again, he was working closely with over 60 tenants, and I received numerous compliments about how courteous he was. Replacement of sub-flooring: There was pet urine damage to a unit that was so extensive that it ruined the sub-flooring. We had a move-in scheduled, and so it was imperative that this was repaired ASAP . . .and of course, as Murphy's law would have it, this happened while our maintenance supervisor was on vacation! Thankfully, Brian was able to take care of this project in a timely manner! Quality work, timely, kind to others, and doesn't leave a mess behind - need I say more?

I needed big help with my Eugene home I had just purchased…read more There was no place to put my dishwasher without restructuring the kitchen. The bathroom had the most awful, early 80's, peach colored shower enclosure, I could not live with - and the counter was much too short. The backyard had a large lawn and a small deck - it was crying out for a more useful space for entertaining. My street generates a lot of traffic noise and I needed something to help reduce it. I also wanted an attractive trash/recycling bin deck, close to the street, for convenience. I looked for reviews and Emerald Valley Home Repair popped up. I like licenses and BBB ratings - Ted has them. He was professional in his walk through and intelligent, creative and confident with his advice and ideas - that he quickly put me to ease with his clear rapport I chose Ted Colee. My new larger kitchen space includes my necessary dishwasher and a couple new cabinets and sparkles with quartz counter tops throughout. He also replaced the lighting. The bathroom shower panels were removed and replaced with new bright white tiles. The deck steps down to a circular stone patio that allows for more entertaining and several large potted plants. I worked with Ted on ideas for the front driveway and we came up with a spectacular walled in - shingled and planter deck. It looks fantastic and provides more privacy in my front yard and most importantly, has reduced the road noise. The shingled trash/recycling/green-waste bin deck has a drop down ramp gate: So convenient! This was a series of jobs that effectively have turned this house into my home. Knowledge, skill, dependability, trust and respect are all vital in building that working relationship and creativity and flexibility complete the package. Bonuses are his abundant experience - Ted even knows plants. I have worked with Ted since and highly recommend him!!

They did a roof job for me and now I am hiring them to do my floors in my house. Super nice guys, long time Oregonians, they are locals, so they know all the best places for construction supplies. Ted used to do architectural landscape, so he is ideal for outdoor projects. I shouldn't tell you how great he is, because he will get booked so much I won't be able to get him myself. 5 stars!
