Well come December, the pipe froze and shot water all over the yard. Had to have a reputable sprinkler company come out and fix costing over $600.00. SSI refused to help. I just asked SSI to reimburse me for the service call of $89 that the other company charged and they refused. Said they capped the system over two years ago. The company I had come out said the water was not shut off all the way and caused the system to burst from the water that was still in the system. Go with a company that is going to be available year round and not a part-time company like SSI.

My bushes in front were dead They pulled removed them and created a flower bed that I was proud of. The next job was burying the French drains in the back yard. That also went without a hitch. My favorite thing they did was to remove the rain gutters and replace them with beautiful rocks the water drained off that looked so much better. They also installed a fire pit in our back yard that was beautiful. If you want to hire someone that does great work, shows up and is so easy to work with this is your company. Everyone from the owner to the technicians were a pleasure. I can not say enough about them.

My sprinkler system was already turned on and operating before Four Star Lawn Care came out. I did…read morenot hire them simply to turn the system on. The purpose of the service call was to adjust sprinkler heads and address a leak. The estimate given to me by phone was $100, and I was also told there was a $75 minimum service charge. After Four Star Lawn Care performed the service, my sprinkler system was left in worse condition than before. Based on my observations after their work, multiple zones are now watering improper areas, including my fence, the side of my house, landscape beds, and other areas that should not be receiving that amount of water. The system is not properly watering the lawn as it should. There is also significant pooling and flooding in my backyard. Four Star Lawn Care later sent a written message stating that their team had completed the sprinkler system service and performed a "full system check." Their message stated that they inspected the controller settings, ran each zone, checked for leaks, adjusted sprinkler heads for proper coverage, and confirmed the system was watering efficiently. That statement does not match the actual condition of the system after their service. The system was not watering efficiently after they left. It was misdirected, causing flooding, and damaging my yard and landscaping. Four Star also later described the service as including "turning on the system and fixing the leak." That description is inaccurate or misleading because my sprinkler system was already turned on and operating before they arrived. I hired them to adjust sprinkler heads and address a leak, not simply to turn the system on. The flooding and improper sprinkler adjustments have caused or contributed to damage to my grass, plants, landscaping, soil, mulch/rock beds, and areas along my fence and house. I have photographs showing standing water, saturated landscaping, and improper water accumulation after their service. There is also a billing issue. The amount I understood from the phone estimate was $100, but after the work was performed I was billed $150. Four Star later referenced a higher amount for the service and stated that additional work could be billed when they came back out. I dispute the billing because the system was left worse than before, and the description of the work performed does not accurately reflect what was requested or what occurred. I contacted Four Star Lawn Care after the service and told them that their workers had plugged in or activated a zone that should not have been running and that my backyard was flooding. I also asked why no one was responding to me. I did not receive a timely or adequate response resolving the issue. I am requesting that Four Star Lawn Care do the following: Return promptly and correct the sprinkler system at no additional charge; Properly adjust all zones so the sprinklers water the lawn and intended landscape areas, not the fence, house, or improper areas; Correct the flooding issue caused or worsened by their service; Reimburse or credit the disputed service charge because the system was left worse than before; Pay for or reimburse the cost of damage to my grass, plants, and landscaping caused by the improper adjustment/flooding; and Provide a written explanation of what work was actually performed, what zones were changed, and why the system was represented as fully checked and operating efficiently when it was not. I attempted to resolve this directly, but the company has not adequately responded or corrected the problem.

Despite being behind because of rain, Steve made an effort to get out and get us a bid and talk through some ideas and suggestions the day after we made our first call. Because of the weather and having to push things back, he came out one evening to help reroute some drainage issues we had as a temporary fix until he could get out to finish the whole project. At that point, we hadn't even decided which company we were going with. He told us that it didn't matter and he couldn't, in good faith, let us go without some sort of help with the impending rain. In addition to being a standup person, the quality of work we received was incredible, we have never had a crew who took such care and paid such close attention to detail. They were all respectful and took care as if it were their own home. They cleaned up after themselves every evening and made sure every last detail was finished! Steve answered every question we had with politeness and a smile, he never got frustrated when we added things mid project or asked a million questions. I'm glad she did, as we were to have rain. I have a carpeted basement, and that would have flooded my basement had it rained. And then I asked Aaron to run a very minor and short errand for me. I don't have a car. We agreed on a time. He did not show up, nor did he text me or call until much later. By then, I hired Uber to take me to handle the job, and Uber turned out to be cheaper than what I would have paid Aaron. So I decided to hire someone else to do my lawn. His attention to detail seemed to be good at first. But then, for some reason, he seemed to lose interest in doing a good job. For the reasons outlined, I can't recommend him, but I can't say he might not do a great job for you. All I can say is he highly disappointed me.,

From San Francisco, spending an enormous amount of time in Wichita for my work, we went ahead and bought a house in the tony neighborhood of Eastborough last October. With a half acre lot, and lots of trees, we had some fall cleaning to do to get rid of the fallen leaves, so we called Two Lawn Rangers this past January to do the job. They gave us a quote of $30/hour, but you would think that with all the experience they have they would eyball the job and say: "Hey this is a big job! It'll cost you more than a grand!" That disclosure would have made us rethink the provider. With neighbors telling us it should cost between $200 and $400 in TOTAL, the wife went ahead and gave the go ahead. We were thinking, "Jee, 10 hours plus materials should be enough right?" We got a bill for $1,200. Are you kidding me? Who does this without giving an estimate of total cost? Totally unprofessional. I paid $600 and told them to stuff it, and they threatened legal action. Nice. So I paid the balance. No sense sweating the small stuff. Fast forward to today, and we just got quoted $350 from a local provider to do the same job. Confirmation we got totally swindled by Two Lawn Rangers. Two Lawn Rangers charged us by zip code, stay the heck away from them. I suggest they change their name to Thugs Lawless Raiders.

A couple of years…read moreago their manager explained that they were having trouble reaching the top of the trees, so this became a concern that I wanted to pay attention to. We made arrangements for them to spray June 26th 2023 at 10 a.m., because we had other commitments earlier in the day. The sprayer showed up at 9 a.m. and explained that we were his last stop and he proceeded anyway. I asked him to pay additional attention to the tops of the trees while he was spraying, and he replied "You're not going to tell me how to spray. Find someone else to spray your trees", and then he drove off. The summary is that Custom Lawn Service is going to do things their way, and not pay attention to the customer's wishes or requests. They'll show up when they want to, not when you want them to, and they will be insulted if you ask them to do something. Stay away from these people if you have any idea at all that they are supposed to be working for you, and not the other way around.
