Unfortunately, my experience left me with serious concerns about transparency. I specifically asked where the dealership acquired the vehicle and whether it had previous collision/structural damage or repairs. I was told, "We cannot disclose to anyone how we acquire the Challenger." When I asked what work had been performed, I was told only an oil change and replacement of the engine and cabin air filters. Since the dealership would not answer my questions about the vehicle's acquisition history, I researched the VIN myself. I found publicly available auction records showing that this exact vehicle had previously been offered through Copart by GEICO, with "vandalism" listed as the primary damage. After discovering this, I again asked reasonable questions about the vehicle's history and repairs. Instead of directly addressing my concerns, the response I received was, "We pray GOD will assist you to find a perfect history Challenger." That response effectively ended any interest I had in doing business with this dealership. To be clear, my issue is not simply that the car went through Copart or had a vandalism claim. There may be perfectly good vehicles sold through insurance auctions. My issue is that I was prepared to spend around $50,000 and had to independently uncover information about the vehicle after receiving evasive responses to straightforward questions. A simple, transparent response explaining the vehicle's known history would have gone a long way.
