We arrived at the drive-thru recently to pick up a prescription for our daughter, and we were greeted by Valerie. Since it's that time of year when medical plans roll over, she initially thought that the script wasn't covered. We let her know that it was in fact covered, and she very politely asked us to hold tight while she did some research. Long story short, she handled everything, and we drove away with a prescription that was covered by insurance. Insurance companies are the epitome of evil with their ever-changing coverage allowances. We pay exorbitant premiums, and then they decide to not cover something because it would affect their bottom line. But I digress. When it comes to prescriptions, this store is one of the better ones within 2-3 local zip codes. And a special shout-out to Valerie. She's an outstanding ambassador.

The air conditioner has been out forever so it's always super hot because of summer. Pull up to the pharmacy that suppose to open at 9 people walking in to clock in at 859. 905 they still open registers, clocking in, opening windows, etc. If it opens at 9 y'all need to be ready to help customers at 9, not getting ready at 9. Also prescriptions online will say ready at a specific time, just to drive down here and they aren't ready at that time. Hire more 2 people and fix the store please. Thank you

This is an old school mom & pop convenience store. Since…read morethey are 1/2 block from Sylvain beach, they carry a decent stock in water shoes, hats, sunglasses, and inexpensive coolers. They also have a small amount of fishing supplies - line, hooks, gloves. These share space with sodas, beer, snacks, lottery, ice, etc. it's clean and functional, the cashier was nice and we found almost everything we wanted (no swim goggles). We wouldn't go out of our way but we would visit again when the need arises.

It was last week that I was passing through, after a visit to the seafood markets in Kemah, and I…read moredecided to stop for some winning scratch-offs. I was also interested in the availability of gas as this place was shown on the news for continually running pumps (and totals due) even after the pump was shut off and consumers had completed their fueling process. The news visited at least 2 times, and both of which the specific pump was still operable. As I entered the parking lot, it was clear that ALL pumps were out of service. However, the parking lot near the store part was still quite full. As I approached the door, there was a sign that warned customers that only cash was being accepted. As I asked the "gentleman" behind the counter for the particular scratch-off that I wanted, he rolled his beastly ass up from the floor, wearing his brightly colored vest, spit his tobacco juice into an old used soda bottle, squinted his eye at me, and just stood there looking at me. I politely asked again. He then made it clear that he was offended by the fact that I thought he worked there. I gave myself a 2-second check of my surroundings, apologized for the confusion as he was the only person behind the counter, suggested he find some sort of employment that causes him to present himself in a more becoming manner, and waited for the true clerk to emerge. As I waited, I also noticed that the only other customer in the store was another man, who had clearly just left the beach and was planning for more beer and snack. As he piled his goods on the counter and returned to the shopping area for more, I made the same request to the "real" clerk who emerged from the back, on his cellular phone, seeming cursing and clearly fussing, all while not ending his phone call in any sort of a hurry. Such was a clear indication that he was not expecting too many customers...As I made my request, he quickly said: oh, I can't sell any of those. As I pulled away, I realized the vehicles in the parking lot were present for the same thing: to repair or remedy the problem with the gas pumps. Either way, I won't be returning anytime soon as it also became clear that this place probably shouldn't be open, is only taking cash to avoid precautions put in place to protect consumers, is clearly avoiding the GOVERNMENT, and probably knows nothing of taxes. I got gas here when I was desperately in need, having come down to the water with a special girl, and having been distracted from actually checking my gas gauge. This place is new and conveniently located off TX 146 -- but it's damn expensive…read more I was very happy to see this place being built because it's the last gas station/convenience store on the southbound side of TX 146 between La Porte and Texas City. That's quite a stretch. It's clean and airy ... lots of waisted space for a convenience store, but that's not my problem. I bought beer here and it was 50% higher than any other place in the area. (Seriously. I generally pay about $16. This place charged $24.) I totally understand markups and locations and all that. But this place prices stuff as if you're trapped in a ballpark or Broadway musical. I said something the the clerk about his exorbitant markups, and he simply responded "Yes." Unless I hear that they've come down on their prices, I'll keep turning left and avoid shopping here.
