a gas station sign at night

Misleading they advertise a price but when you get to the pump that's not the price the give you the sign says $2.94 a gallon but they actually charge you 2.97 if you look closely at the sign it says 2.94 with a stripes card but when I went in and asked the cashier for a card he tells me "we don't do that anymore" then why are you advertising a prices that's not so that's called FALSE ADVERTISING

Stars and Stripes? Rating details follow: *****------------------ convenience for gasoline and food on-the-go *****------------------ breakfast tacos are good *****------------------ # of selections, small pizzas are good for on-the-go ------------------------- ------------------------- buffet food does not look appealing ... someone else can get & rate that Quotes from the movie "Stripes" (with Bill Murray) help convey the message of my review (marked with a preceding dash (-) ) : John Winger: "My philosophy: a hundred-dollar shine on a three-dollar pair of shoes" - There is junk food, and there is pretty good junk food. Some looks appealing, and some not. John Winger: "You can't go! All the plants are gonna *die*!" - The food will get worse (sits longer) if enough customers don't buy food. Sergeant Hulka: "Soldier, I've noticed that you're always last. " John Winger: "I'm pacing myself, Sergeant." - The people who stare at the food trying to make up their mind are frequently in the way of those who are in a hurry and know what they want. Cruiser: "I joined the army 'cause my father and my brother were in the army. I thought I'd better join before I got drafted." Sergeant Hulka: "Son, there ain't no draft no more." - If you are familiar with the area, there are much better pizza and taco trucks nearby and won't slow your trip that much more. But, Laredo Taco Company has competitive tasty breakfast tacos. Psycho: The name's Francis Soyer, but everybody calls me Psycho. Any of you guys call me Francis, and I'll kill you. - As I understand it, they named the place "Stripes" after the stripes down the middle of a rural road (or between lanes). Russell Ziskey: "I've always been kind of a pacifist. When I was a kid, my father told me, 'Never hit anyone in anger, unless you're absolutely sure you can get away with it.' I don't know what kind of soldier I'm gonna make, but I want you guys to know that if we ever get into really heavy combat... I'll be right behind you guys. Every step of the way." - I have noticed that Stripes is not the first to lower gas prices, on the rare occasion that prices drop. Recruiter: "Have you ever been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor? That's robbery, rape, car theft, that sort of thing. " John Winger: "Convicted? No." - This is a fast and convenient food store, aiming for low prices. I don't see a big kitchen. So, expect that meat and some other ingredients to be fresh, not frozen.

This Stripes is also 50% The Laredo Taco Co. because half the store is dedicated to fresh food and dining in. I think this Laredo Taco Co. should have its own Yelp because it could really stand alone in reviews. You can order on a kiosk or get in line. You get a receipt of your order with your number. You can get your coffee and other convenience store snacks from the Stripes side and pay while they are filling Taco orders. This is way more efficient than waiting for them in line as they make your taco or lunch plate. I wish there was one of these in Montrose/Midtown/Heights.

All sorts of Ratchet Ness going on! People just loitering my I'm like hurry up pump Gas n let's see go!

Workers are the worst, there is never any toilet paper and most of the time they are just talking.

Nevertheless, it had most of what we were looking for, basically just drinks and snacks for our 2-day stay in Houston. My father wanted bakery items for breakfast and settled for the usual Hostess and Hostess-like choices you'd find at, again, a convenience store. However, the gentleman behind the register was pleasant and helpful. A customer came in and while checking out casually mentioned he had a close friend die the day before in a car crash. The cashier was very sympathetic and listened to the guy without interrupting or trying to hurry him along. In all, the store has the basics. But if you're looking for an actual grocery store like what you'd typically find in the downtown area of a large city, this is not it.

I mean my pocket book is probably better for it because I want to buy the whole store but honestly I've been missing out. The place is cute and welcoming from the corner sign on the building to the moment you step in- bright, inviting, great displays so you know where to go. You can't get lost in here with the signage, but you can't definitely get lost in the aisles with all the great, unique choices. The ready food display has so many Mediterranean treats, some I've had before some I've never heard of and everything I tried was amazing. We got the cabbage rolls and Armenian veggie dolmas. Great flavor, both specific items I haven't had before. Nice citrus, spiced flavor to these. I'd say they're have to try items. Not only found jarred tomato paste, which I've been on the hunt for but they had choices in this category and that's another first for me. Will have to go back and try the others. Also got the cured Serrano ham -amazing. And I thought the prices were going to be insane having a spot right in the middle of the city and nope- pleasantly surprised for my goodies, great prices even less than some of the other stores I frequent in the suburbs. I'll be back again and again and again until I try the whole store lol. Definitely give them a try, you won't regret it

Well, I have a little story I'd like to share. One day, I was searching for liquor stores downtown…read moreother than Specs, looking for a specific brand of liquor. Since I work downtown, several upscale liquor stores appeared on my Apple Maps. I called to inquire. The person who answered was patient and provided excellent customer service. Over the phone, he put me on hold, then came back and said, "Yes, ma'am, we do have it, but only one left. Don't worry, we close at nine. I'll hold it for you," and I appreciated his kindness. I told him I was on my way. When I arrived, he had the bottle ready for me, and I thanked him. I also asked how long the store had been there; he mentioned about five years. I realized I had driven past that place countless times without noticing it--it's kind of tucked away on the corner. We started chatting, and I was delighted to find out he was the owner. That moment meant a lot to me--not just because the store is close to my job, but because it's a Black-owned business, which truly touched my heart. I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear when he shared that. I vowed that from then on, this would be my go-to liquor store. There are three employees there, and they are the most welcoming, pleasant people I've ever met. Over the past few months, they've gotten to know me, and every visit is always a warm experience. Yesterday, I went in to get my usual, and I was greeted with friendly smiles and genuine warmth--"Hey, how's it going? How are things? Just getting off work? Good to see you." I had requested a bottle of Chardonnay, but one of the staff members accidentally ordered Moscato instead. It was no big deal, and he apologized, saying he'd get the correct one for me. Then, unexpectedly, he said, "Do me a favor--take this bottle of Chardonnay and try it. Tell me what you think." He didn't have to do that; I truly believe he did it because that's just who he is, not just because I'm a regular customer. I was about to decline, but he insisted, so I accepted. Just then, a woman from the back, smiling warmly, introduced herself as one of the owners. I'd never seen her before, but she explained she was listening and wanted to come say hello, expressing her appreciation for my support. It warmed my heart in a way words can't fully express. Moments like that remind me that showing kindness and respect doesn't cost anything. It's just about being human and compassionate. As long as Price Liquors is open, they will always have my support. Thank you, Posh.

I have walking pneumonia and I'm over 70 years old. The cough medicine was put in a bottle twice the size of the amount prescribed. The instructions are, 10 ml every 6 hours. They provided a couple of syringes. The syringe doesn't reach the liquid. Seriously? I called the pharmacy, explained the mistake on their end. I also explained I was running a little over 100 degree temperature AND I have walking pneumonia. I asked for them to deliver the appropriate size bottle. I didn't have enough energy to go back out in our 100+ weather. They refused. However, they did offer for me to drive over and they would be able to give me the bottle. How kind. So, I get to pour out small portions of the syrup, measure the 10 ml, get a funnel and pour any excess back into the bottle. Shame on the pharmacist for not correcting his employee's mistake. Shame on the person who filled the bottle. Full disclosure, this particular pharmacy has a pretty good status on accuracy. At least I'm hoping so. I'll be scrutizing all future prescriptions. I'd change pharmacies, but Walgreens is medicore at best.
