Even the bathroom was spotless. From the time we left the dock Captain Dan and his first mate Jack treated us as their guests. The weather changed into a brief storm and Captain Dan shut the boat down to ride it out making sure everyone was safe. When the storm cleared we all caught striped bass keepers that Jack filleted, cleaned and put in plastic bags to take home. We will be going back out on the Salt Shaker again next year.

First off, the boat is big and very comfortable with a bathroom downstairs, benches inside where you are sheltered from the weather, or if you want to enjoy the weather you can head to the roof where there's more seating. The main attraction is the back deck where there are plenty of slots to get lines in the water. Captain Seamus is knowledgeable and accommodating, not only teaching us how to prepare/cook the fish we caught but also places to visit and things to do while we are here. We caught SO MANY FISH! On the way back he has a raw bar on the back of the boat where he gutted and filleted our catch. He even sliced up some sashimi so we could sample our catch, so delicious! I just got off the boat (Jail Break) and I felt so great about the experience that this is my first yelp review, highly recommended!

Yea nothing like a Rock Harbor sunset. Sometimes if you time it right you catch the sport fishing…read morefleet coming in before or just after the tide change with super happy anglers and filled fishing boxes. The site of these boats against the western sky and the pine tree lined entrance way to Rock Harbor from Cape Cod Bay is really memorable. Some broken clouds that offer the best sunset in the west, maybe a touch of haze in July and wait the rare opportunity when the tide is way out so there are miles of wet and salty newly created beach-front that offer up some serious sunset hiking. And then............there is the famous, never to be denied, discussed never in public Rock Harbor sunset cocktail members. Not that this is a club but you can pretty much walk by the first row closest to the beach and watch the perfect martini being poured in the passenger seat.. A little music, a little alcohol who knows ....a little magic back at the cottage. Rock Harbor sunset viewing is an Orleans tradition. Mostly attended by the more experienced or should I say retired. But it does catch on and as the tourist season picks up the gathering brings down the average age into the just after college category...and especially if the tide is out. So bring your cooler, kids, frisbee (no dogs in season ..too bad) and a definite is a camera. I'm thinking the perfect accesory is the a 12v powered margarita machine that helps put the evening over the top.

Group of 6 went out on "The Dusky" with Captain Diogo (Joe-go). The boat was smooth and had a…read morelarge bow deck to allow 3 fishermen to cast while 2 could comfortably cast from the stern side. Unfortunately the Stripers were not hungry for the first part of the day(lots of chasers but they weren't biting) and we were only scheduled for a 8-12 excursion. Captain Diogo wasn't having any of that, so he coordinated with other Captains to get us on some fish. He spent an extra 3 hours out there for no extra charge and we ended up landing 2 huge stripers(about 25 pounds each). He is truly a dedicated fisherman and he wants to catch fish even more than you do! Great experience- would recommend this charter to anyone who wants a great day and a down to earth, honest, knowledgeable fishing captain.
