I don't usually write reviews....I really don't.....but these guys are the absolute best and deserve some more recognition! I had two large maple trees that had been growing near my house of over 20 years. I emailed them for a quote and received a very quick response. After a brief conversation they were at my house looking at the trees and discussing options. After we agreed on the services, they had a crew back out at my house later that afternoon to remove the two trees. This crew was awesome! The way they safely removed these trees was nothing short of a show we all enjoyed watching. As they finished removing the trees, they had the job site clean and ready for the next step, stump grinding. Another crew showed up to grind out the stumps and once again, they were on it! They took extra steps to keep the debris to a minimum and out of my koi pond...they even chased down pieces of the stump that went into the flower beds. After they completed an amazing job I came out to walk the site. What impressed me the most was that there were two roots that were heading towards my neighbors house that I didn't like (not part of what I had originally asked to be removed) and without hesitation, they brought the machine back off the trailer to cut them out for me. They were insistent through this entire process that I was completely satisfied with the job...and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Not only did they clean up the site leaving it better than the way they found it, they used a leaf blower to blow off my deck, my drive way, front steps and sidewalks....areas that weren't even part of the project. I was very impressed and I love the way my yard is already looking! read more

We appreciate working with the Stringfellow Tree Service Team. We've worked with Jason and Michael on two jobs and they've done great work. Our yard has a lot of mature trees, which results in a lot of leaf cleanup each year. We also had a lot of unused firewood that sat for many years that needed to be removed. Due to family care priorities, while we were able to reasonably keep up with leaf removal, the firewood continued to be left to sit. We worked with Jason to finalize an estimate to remove all the old firewood, a remnant tree trunk that was felled after the canopy was blown off from high winds, and cutting down a tree that didn't appear to survive this winter. Two days of very wet weather delayed the start of the work, but the team came in full force and got all the work finished in one afternoon/early evening. I can't say enough good about the job that was done. We appreciate all the hard and thorough work the team did to clean up our yard of old wood, branches, tree trunk sections and limbs, along with the remainder of the leaves (it was still a huge amount, even after removing the first round of leaves ourselves). Thanks again to Michael, Jason, and their fine crew for the work they did. I suggest you consider contacting and working with Michael Stringfellow Tree Service for any tree and yard cleanup work that you will be doing in the future. M. Oweis, Vienna, VA read more

We used Stringfellow's twice. The first time was to remove a tree threatening to fall on a house. It was very dangerous...but they offered a quote well below others...and they did a superb job safely removing the tree. The second time we needed two very large (and dead and/or rotting) trees removed plus a significant amount of bramble and underbrush...it was a full two days for their crew. Their 4-man crew were highly skilled and worked ceaselessly. They were also very responsive to additional requests and did very high quality work...frequently going over and above what was requested. They also cut, split and stacked the "good" wood from the dead oak so we will now have several years worth of high quality firewood. They were also fearless and resilient. As they were cutting the bramble...they discovered a copperhead snake. They were able to kill it...and in so doing...discovered it had recently given birth to 5 smaller copperheads. They were able to subsequently dispose of them also...thereby saving my wife and neighbors from potential disaster. All-in-all...I cannot speak highly enough about the work crew; their energy, skill and dedication; their high standards/work ethic and their responsiveness. Highly recommend! read more

Michael Stringfellow's Tree Service is GREAT !! He and his crew trimmed and cut down several locust trees that were gangly and precariously about to fall on my deck and patio during the next serious wind storm. They came and did the job as scheduled even on a cold somewhat rainy day. Their 4 man crew was quite professional and managed to figure out how to position themselves and their ropes amidst a crowded wooded area to gently cut and lower heavy limbs so as not to damage the surrounding trees or neighbors property. I was particularly impressed with their tree climber, Deon, who clearly has years of experience navigating himself high in the trees with ropes and spiked crampons. He was amazing to watch. And, after cutting the dead limbs, he installed my new bat house for me high on the trunk to help preserve the bat population. Beat of all--the crew cut up and cleaned up every branch and twig that came down. I've never seen a crew clean up this thoroughly. They even blew the leaves away and left behind a pristine landscape. I can't recommend them highly enough. Moderately priced too. I'll definitely hire them again whenever tree work is needed. read more

It was minutes after submitting the Yelp request that I received a reply from Jason. I was not available to meet him to show him my trees. He assured me that he could come by my house and find the trees that I had marked with ribbon, to be removed, and give me a quote. Within the hour he was calling me back with his estimate (which was my lowest bid). He sent me an insurance certificate, business license and proposal by text. I agreed with terms and they were at my house the next morning. Their 6 man crew set up and went to work on my 5 tall oak trees and were finished and cleaned up before dark. The cutter was outstanding as all of the roped-down limbs were landed accurately and when he began dropping chunks of the trunk, he was very accurate within the small areas I was able to give him. My back yard is full of boxwood and rhododendron. I prepared by trimming back the rhododendron and only lost 2 branches of the closest boxwood. The owner came by at the end of the job and inspected my yard with me. Before they left I congratulated them all on a job well done. read more

I hired Stringfellow's crew for the day. They showed up on time and starting working. The parameters of the job were discussed and these guys did a great job. I had 4 projects that had to get done in the allotted time and then if time permitted more jobs could be done. Well this crew took care of those 4 handily and then did much more on top of that. They were responsive to my requests and concerns regarding which work I needed done. In 8 hours they: removed and hauled two large poplars, felled a multi trunked poplar and cut into pieces, downed, cut and stacked a dead cherry tree, cut two trunks off a large maple, trimmed a crepe myrtle, trimmed a large birch, thinned and trimmed a massive poplar (quite a job), picked up 4 large piles of brush and chipped them and several other small jobs. Clean up was awesome. These guys worked hard and I will hire them again when I need some more tree work. Thanks to the crew, Manquin, Sebastian, Jeremiah, James and Ryan. I had to take 4 Advil just from watching them work! read more

I've used these guys to remove some big trees by the driveway as well as a few tricky leaning trees that were threatening my shed. I didn't think there was any way those trees could be dropped without taking that shed out but they climbed a few surrounding trees and roped it and when it came down it took a swing away from the shed and landed right where they said it would... life is good. I also had them grind a large stump (18 inch) that was occupying a space we wanted to put raised beds in... I'll never try to bust a stump up with an axe again after seeing the job they did. Every time they've been here they leave me with a totally cleaned up site and a smile. I fully recommend them. In any job like this the more you get done the better the deal will be because of the up front cost of getting the equipment and people out to your place. So when you do call them it's better to do so when you have a fair amount of work to have done. You'll save money in the long run. Cheers! Frankie read more

A+++ experience with Stringfellow's and no hesitation to leave a positive review for this crew. I had a very old 80-foot tall maple overhanging the sidewalk and street that had become a life safety hazard for passersby in the neighborhood and needed to come down. Stringfellow's was the first to respond with an estimate and had the most competitive pricing, but it was their performance on the job that turned this rather sad event (I loved that tree for decades and dreaded having to see it come down) into a strong positive. Mike and Jason have excellent communication skills and run their crew with efficiency and customer service in mind. It is dangerous work but these guys knew what they were doing and finished up earlier than I expected. It's also a very messy project but they left the property cleaner than when they started. I would hire them again and I'm happy to recommend to anyone who needs tree service. read more

I have worked with Stringfellows before with great results, and this time was just as good. I scheduled to get a quote to trim some trees and other work around the yard of my townhouse. After some discussion and advice, we determined one of my trees was too far gone to keep around, and that it would prove a hazard to my neighbors house. Because of my past experience with Stringfellow, I approved the quote immediately and they got to work while they were already there. In a single day, I got my estimate, had the work done(One tree removed, one topped/trimmed, all the bushes trimmed, and the weeds/leaves/twigs removed), and they even put one of my gutters back into place where the tree had started to push it loose), and Michael even stopped by at the end of the day to inspect the work his crew had done and pick up the check. Fast, professional service, going the extra mile for me. read more

This spring a large 70 foot tall oak tree in my back yard that overhung my house died and needed to be removed before it became a hazard. Stringfellow's Tree Service took it down in less than a day, removed all the blocks of wood and branches, and swept up the sawdust leaving the area exceptionally clean and neat. Their crew members were efficient, courteous, hardworking and respectful of my property, working non-stop through 95 degree temperatures to complete the job that day. Their work ethic, professionalism and safety awareness was exceptional, deserving of special note. A few days later I had Stringfellow's Tree Service grind out the stump and remove the debris, which they did with the same degree of skill and efficiency. Without hesitation I would recommend Stringfellow's Tree Service to others and would hire them for similar services in the future. read more

When you contact Stringfellow's, be sure to ask for Brian and his team. They arrived on time and finished the same day, as promised. They took down four large trees, arranged to donate the firewood to the needy, provided me with a great supply of wood chips for mulch, and left the grounds in immaculate shape. I had no cleanup afterwards. They are thorough! Two of the trees were on a hillside behind a retaining wall. That was not a problem for them. My hillside remains intact, the stumps were thoroughly ground away, and the retaining wall was undamaged. The other trees were known as "widow makers" due to their size and slope. (One tree was resting at an angle in another tree.) Long story short: both are now gone and I have a great forest view again. Brian: Many thanks for a very professional job. read more

Stringfellow's Tree Service is Excellent. I had other tree companies quote the job and while they were wide ranging in price(some more fair than others), Brian was very willing to work with me to come to an agreement on price and schedule the work for quick completion. Great guys (Brian, Ryan and crew) to work with too. They responded without any reluctance to our input regarding job related details. Our 5 trees were removed(including stumps), four other trees trimmed/pruned all within a few hours time. The post removal yard clean up was very good as well. I was so happy with their professional workmanship that I had zero hesitation recommending them to a couple of our neighbours for various tree services they wanted to have done at their properties too. Highly recommend!! read more

Following the Pandemic, I really had no spirit to keep the yard I had kept up for 23 years. By the time I called in Stringfellow, it was an overgrown mess. Jamie understood what I was trying to achieve in the cleanup, as well as how dear all these plants were to me. His crew pulled the right plants (weeds: wrong plant, wrong place, wrong time). They were all extremely pleasant and it helps to have a little Spanish in 2021. Tommy did a great job power washing the slate which was no slam dunk. Suddenly, after a day, the garden was mine again, cleaned up and ready to enjoy. I'll admit to being a bit motherly to its resurrection but they were attentive to both the big picture and the details. Bravo. read more

My wife and myself had just moved to Warrenton and needed a long row of Holly bushes and a large bush removed before a scheduled pressure washing of the exterior of the house. Jason from Stringfellow's Tree Service was the first to respond back to us for details of our needs and promptly scheduled a time to meet the next morning. We were pleasantly surprised to not only be greeted by Jason, but also by Mike the owner and his crew. After agreeing to a very reasonable price, Mike's crew immediately began removing the Holly's and large bush. Mike's team is fast, efficient, and professional. Mike and Jason were a real pleasure to work with and we highly recommended them. read more

I would highly recommend Stringfellow's tree service. I had two cedar trees sitting in a very tight spot that had grown out of hand so needed to be removed before getting into a serious trouble. Mike and Jason came out initially and took a look at it within an hour as soon as I requested a quote on Yelp. We agreed on the price and scope of service and they came out with their professional team and removed the trees in the same evening. They were very conscientious of the work they were doing throughout the process and cleaned up and haul away all the debris and made it looked so clean afterwards. I will definitely call them for any tree service needs in the future. read more

The crew did excellent work trimming trees, freeing decorative plants from invasive vines, and removing dead limbs. Jason Rosser walked our property with me, pointing out needed future work that could be postponed, and highlighting safety hazards that should be addressed as soon as possible. He gave us a reasonable price for the immediate work, and the work was efficient with excellent clean up. He noticed that our neighbor had a wood pile for heating, and asked if we would like some logs cut for him instead of being hauled away. With such an excellent first experience, we have had him work here several times. read more

Michael Stringfellow's Tree and Yard Service did an excellent job. I hired them to clear out my backyard, which sits on a hill and has a slope and it is difficult to maintain. Jason, the person in charge came the next day to offer a quote, we agreed and that same day he did the work. The service included removing a dead tree in our backyard. His team was fast and very professional. The prices were fair for the amount of work they did. After they were done, they cleaned up very well and finished everything in about three hours. I highly recommend this service for all your tree and yard needs. read more

Stringfellow's was hired to cleanup front and backyards in preparation for seasonal use. The cleanup included tree and shrubbery pruning and trimming, leave raking and the removal of approximately 2 inches of ornamental rocks from the front yard, the bulk of which had sunk deep into the ground, making it harder to remove. The work moved swiftly, even though the tree required more work than anticipated. Stringfellow returned the next day to further address concern, leaving me content with the value of the work received. I will utilize their services again. read more

Stringfellow's Tree Service was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled, they worked out the fairest price out of several competitors that we considered. They removed three trees including a massive oak in less than a day, stumps included. They even cleaned up all the sawdust and debris, it's like the trees were never there at all. They were even kind enough to let me get in their way to stock up on some future firewood and cut me off a sizeable round from the base of the oak to turn into a coffee table. I'd use them again in a heartbeat. read more
