The instructors, classes, and members are all so amazing that I can't imagine life without Momentum. Classes are challenging, but everyone's supportive and it's so exciting to see progress. Everyone starts out on the struggle bus, but we get better every day and feel great. Trust me, physical benefits are secondary compared to how good you feel after a Momentum workout. Upon setting foot in the door, I immediately knew that Momentum was a perfect fit. It's an all-female gym for starters--a huge plus in my book! There are women there of all shapes and sizes and all abilities, so I haven't yet felt self-conscious or clumsy. The staff is super-friendly and helpful... as are the members! Many of the folks know one another on a first-name basis, which is unlike the fitness facilities I've belonged to in the past. Momentum has a wide array of cardio and strength-training equipment. Also, another cool plus--when you join, they provide a free goal-setting session so you can map out what it is that you'd like to achieve. They also will set up separate appointments to train you on their cardio and strength training equipment. I imagine this would be particularly helpful for women that haven't used this equipment before. The class schedule is has a lot of diverse offerings and it spans the entire day. The earliest classes start at 5:30am, which is great if you're an early-bird like me. They have spin, yoga, pilates, BodyPump (strength training), BodyAttack (cardio), and a bunch of other offerings. Thus far, I've been very pleased with all of the classes and instructors. If you're a beginner (like me), the instructor will usually work with you before the class to get you familiar with form/techniques and give you some tips on how to get the most out of the class. Another huge plus--this facility is kept immaculately clean. They have showers, tanning booths, a sauna, etc. They also have a day care room for kids with toys and a space where they teach them yoga while the moms work out. (It's adorable!) This little community of all-women fitness-goers definitely has a very supportive vibe. I can't say enough good things about this place! If you're in the market for an all-female gym, definitely check this place out!

The instructors are so kind and supportive and, even though I have had some experience with Pure Barre classes, they challenge me every time! They offer classes for all levels of experience and the instructors are very helpful during class if you need clarification on an exercise or adjustment. When I show up for class, there's always a smiling face to greet me as I walk in. Having the barre studio so close in the area was a must have when we were choosing a neighborhood to live in. Pure Barre Mechanicsburg is conveniently located and the entrance and exit from the complex is not a hassle; offers a light for 3 direction Exit traffic or a stop sign for a right turn exit. They offer 1 week free to try it out and an introductory first month unlimited classes for a significantly reduced cost. After that, you can choose a month to month 4, 8, or more classes package or pay up front for a year for some more savings. The studio offers fun fitness challenges, special themed workouts, and pop-up workouts in the local/surrounding area. This is not your ordinary, tired-out gym workout!

In addition to the expansive main…read moreequipment area for cardio and resistance workouts, there is a separate partition for stretching, and additional areas for the 12 minutes abs, and 30 minute circuit.  Then there's the relaxation zone for pampering: nearly a dozen horizontal and vertical tanning rooms, 1 red light therapy room, 2 hydro-massage beds, and 2 massage chairs. I've been to half a dozen fitness establishments including the Y, New York Sports Club and LA Fitness, but this is by far the cleanest facility ever. The locker room doesn't smell, the shower curtains aren't moldy, the vanity tops are constantly being wiped. I'm really impressed how PF emphasizes on the cleanliness of its facilities.  This is also the only gym I've visited where there are separate dressing rooms inside men's locker room. Sure there's no swimming pool nor sauna or steam room which I always look forward to using whenever I'm given the opportunity, but for $10 per month, what they do offer is still a bundle of values that's unbeatable. Aside from the purple theme, what I absolutely don't like about this PF is the location. I literally dread the ingress traffic from the Carlisle Pike approach which's often backed up all the way to the 581 ramps, and the egress out of the Sporting Hill Rd where I need to be aggressive exiting out of the strip mall. Given that the best time for my workout is right after work when the conditions go from bad to worse, the stress that I'd have to endure is an absolute deal-breaker for me. If your schedule and/or route can circumvent this, you should absolutely take advantage of this nice facility.

All of the instructors are great and very knowledgable! My flexibility has improved greatly since I started and I can really tell the difference in my core and legs. I look forward to my Saturday morning Pilates and Tuesday night PIYO session each week with all of these lovely ladies!! I took my daughter to the pediatrician and while I was there waiting I was reading a Baby Guide. That is where I found Absolute Pilates with an adorable photo of an instructor with their baby! So cute! I set up an appointment and I am hooked. I feel so much healthier and the drive from Harrisburg is easy. It is easy on my changing body and their instructors are very well versed in body after baby.

I tore my meniscus early on, they would not allow me to cancel personal training even with a note from physical therapist. Personal Training was not great or very challenging in the first place, I have done training at Crunch and the YMCA and both facilities have challenged me. The only reason I joined was for the pool and the availability of the pool. Lesson learned the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Front desk staff is not very friendly either, no hello's or goodbye, never any cleaning wipes around to clean down the old equipment. No wonder the company isn't growing and is slowly closing facilities, makes sense. Do your homework first before signing the contract. My husband and I have lost thousands of dollars.

My wedding is coming up on May 3 and Cortney has done a fantastic job so far. She is patient when I ask questions and available via email for anything that comes up between our sessions from technique to nutrition. My trouble spot was not on my body, it was with my motivation levels. In the past I would start a workout plan then give up two weeks later. Cortney helped me address that and has kept me motivated with weekly challenges in workouts and nutrition I started working with her with the goal to slim down and tone up for the wedding, but it's becoming a lifestyle change that I hope to keep up with even after the big day. Cortney is a wonderful person and I recommend her to anyone who's interested in a personal trainer!
