When I first joined, I paid top dollar for a membership that included the ability to pause my account for business trips or medical reasons which I hardly ever needed to-- something I specifically asked about before signing up and choosing that one package that offered that feature. A couple of years ago, they changed their policy mid-contract, removing the ability to pause memberships, even for legitimate medical issues. Despite my doctor providing documentation with two different surgeries, I was simply told there were "no exceptions." After a decade of loyalty, that response said it all. Over the years, my wife also joined as a full member, and one of our kids took swim lessons here for years -- which are not cheap. Between all of us, we've put a lot of money into this place. But apparently, loyalty and good faith don't mean anything anymore. Beyond the customer service, the facility itself has gone downhill. When machines are out of order. You should expect it will be for months at a time (3-6 months isn't unusual), and every rainy season the roof leaks -- they literally have buckets set up to catch water. I refer to them as the "annual rain buckets". The irony is that the owners are construction contractors, yet they can't seem to maintain their own building. After almost a decade and spending a lot of money, I've decided to take my family's business elsewhere. It's unfortunate -- this could be a great place, but it's clear they've stopped caring about their members.

I have been with multiple different trainers, but none were as excellent as she is. She is a trainer with a heart. Not only does has she helped me to lose weight but I have gain muscle. She has helped with my diet, stamina, and trouble areas! She will go as far as to make and prepare lunches for your specific diet needs. Aside from physical benefits, I have more energy and can sleep better at night. She's a great inspiration and has won numerous body building competitions, and is humble about it. Further, the owner started a "Challenge" right before the doors closed, and members paid the fee for the challenge despite the owner just knowing that she was going to shut the business down. She also fraudulently was accepting payment for memberships up until the day she closed. After speaking to several other previous members, it is my understanding that this happened in both Pleasanton and Brentwood. I heard there is a class action lawsuit against her which I will be joining. Concord is next. Please beware.

He's a certified personal trainer, has won many, many competitions himself. This gives him not only the education and training he needs to help you reach your fitness goals, but also the personal knowledge that comes with having walked the walk. Santi's personality is secret weapon. He is friendly, nonjudgmental, and exuberant, knowing each of his clients by name. As you're working out, he will check on you regularly, offering advice and encouragement. You never use his gym without feeling that support. One important aspect of Body by Santi is that he's expecting you before you even come in for your workout. Your "tools" will already be set up, and each exercise will be explained and demonstrated to you (more than once, if you happen to forget what you're doing). That level of professionalism gives me confidence that my goals, as well as my wellbeing, are being carefully thought out. If you're thinking that all of this must be pretty costly, think again. I've been to three other trainers in my lifetime (two at private gyms like this, and one at a large chain), and Santi's prices are MORE than affordable. Lastly, you should know that Santi has clients of all ages and fitness levels. He runs his gym with an extremely non-judgmental ambiance, and clients appear to emulate that, following Santi's lead in providing a safe space for everyone to achieve their desired fitness level.
