He NEVER listened to me from Day one! He clearly didn't believe "my story" to why I have PTSD... and when I asked for my records recently apparently he thought that each month I was delusional??? Lol But he NEVER mentioned that to me in person that he felt I was .. I find that to be very odd .. I honestly wish I was delusional lol .. I would be way happier if I was... lol .. I mentioned Trump often and my family is mostly in Boston .. I saw him for like 15 minutes a month .. sometimes I had two sessions a month but certainly there was no time to even be delusional lol .. anyways ..I was assaulted by an officer in Boston and told him I can not do jury duty .. he filled out the form and then on that very form said it was "unknown" if I could serve or not ... I was stalked for 8 years by this officer (add on 4 other felonies ) and finally had to move out of state to be safe .. so I can not be around police officers .. or anyone in uniform and certainly not capable of being in a court room for extended hours .. I'm scared to death of these people .. ICE and Trump and their criminal activities are triggering me .. I was doing so well before ICE ... I don't mind to volunteer or do something else like Office work away from people to help with the court ..something like that I can do but I can not sit in a room filled with Criminals...(or cops, court officials or judges ) because he wrote that on my form I may have to serve now and I really can't do it ... he also asked me weird and inappropriate questions from time to time .. told the same jokes and always made fun of my Boston accent which I don't have .. lol .. when I wanted to try a different medication he got all bent out of shape and didn't help me with the new doctor and new treatment plan... he actually hindered it and made it worse .. so now if I want to try this new treatment I have to start from ground zero... I would stay at best he is mailing it In ... At worst he will hinder your spiritual growth and or your or treatment plan in a negative way .. he never once said one word of encouragement concerning Trump .. to try to make me feel calmer .. or less upset .. which tells me he is supporter .. he should have been honest and I would have found someone else and it would have been no harm no foul.. Trump was the main focus of our sessions .. but noooooooo he could not just tell me the truth which you are suppose to do in therapy .. lol but he sure took my money ... and ran and probably laughed all the way to the bank ... Avoid going here at all costs. They are not helpful at all with scheduling, very condescending and not considerate. Worst of all is they try to squeeze every penny from you. Withholding medication until I schedule another $80 meeting after just meeting with him a week earlier. Plus each meeting is 5 minutes long and can be done over phone but that would be free so he doesn't allow for that. Waste of money and time and abuse of power to try to take advantage of others financial opportunities by withholding important medication. read more

Do not take your child to this quack! After 2 weeks in the hospital she was fully functioning and doing fine with the meds prescribed at the hospital. He told us to immediately stop all meds previously prescribed and he prescribed a different drug. Within a few days she went downhill and he would not makes changes in dosage or add anything new. After 10 days she ended up back in the hospital and now we are trying to get her back to where she was before this so called "child specialist" changed her meds. I'd give this guy zero stars if it were allowed. read more

My experience has been extremely uncomfortable. This Dr would tell jokes that weren't funny, and often at the expense of my disability (adhd). When I didn't laugh at his jokes, he would get upset with me. Like he needed affirmation from me that he was funny. (He isn't). At every appt he asks me how my PTSD symptoms are, and offers me more medication which I NEVER want because my ptsd symptoms are well under control. He also argues with me. My usual medication has been out of stock for 4 months now. So I'm trying a new one. He got MAD at me for telling him my meds were out of stock. He said I was wrong. So I told him he could call every pharmacy and ask. He also makes me book monthly appts with him...I only need to go in (by law) every 3 months. At my last appt it went too far. He made inappropriate comments about my body, me being beautiful, and asked if my husband was enough for me. So wrong. On top of the incredibly inappropriate behavior, he clearly has very little knowledge on most mental health issues and I feel could strongly trigger anyone's past trauma. Stay away. read more

Keep making calls until you find someone else. Our first verbal exchange was me asking what the Chinese symbol on the wall meant. He said, "Let's stay on track." If you don't want people asking about your art, take it down. On my FIRST visit, he was ready to write me a prescription for Electrc Convulsion Therapy. Dude. I was joking. He was not. Yikes! He is about 13 years behind in psychiatry, psychology and pharmacology. His attitude is more like an angry accountant than that of even a pill monkey. He is so painfully unfamiliar with modern medicine and so incredibly insulting and rude. He clearly hates his work. He should move on. Hint: The way to build rapport with your new client is to not insult their old doc who is 5x more qualified than you -- or to deny the tremors your patient is obviously having because you either haven't looked at said patient in the eye ONCE or just don't want to deal with it. I have been seeing this doctor for several years and found him annoying, but my medication was working so I dealt with it. One time when I missed an appointment because of something that was beyond my control, he was very mean and threatened to drop me as a patient. My medication began causing some side effects that were becoming unbearable. I found myself sweating profusely and getting severe headaches. He told me to use this medicated deodorant and take Tylenol for the headaches. I'm looking for a new doctor. read more

Big red flag: a few years ago, I was going through a tough period. Dr. Streitfeld listed off a bunch of anti-depressant medications, some of which I said I'd never heard of. Streitfeld is the most incompetent idiot I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. one appointment was my last. I called his office at 9:20 am and the incompetent secretarial moron agent of Streitfeld told me they accepted my insurance. I arrived at the jerks office the same day at 2 pm and had the stupid secretary photocopy my card and reconfirm acceptance. 13 days later I had my only appointment with the Mental Midget Streitfeld. upon arrival I gave the stupid secretary a clean copy of my insurance card and she again stated they accepted my insurance. two and a half weeks after my appointment on the 9th I received a voicemail from the morons office that they did not accept my insurance as of the 10th when my appointment was on the 9th and sent a bill for over $300.00. I reported the creep to the State of Az Psychiatric Board and he had to reimburse me for everything I paid out of pocket. I sent the arrogant jerk a letter firing him and 6 months later the moron sent me a notification of release of care. what part of YOUR FIRED is Streitfeld too stupid to understand. Streitfeld cost me a lot of time and money and caused me emotional distress. Streitfeld has no Moral or Ethical Compass. Streitfeld should have his License To Practice Revoked. He may call himself doctor but he is Nothing More Than A Service Provider and I Am The Paying Customer. Suck on that Streitfeld. read more

EXHAUST ALL YOUR OTHER OPTIONS BEFORE SEEING THIS DOCTOR. Like other reviewers, if I could give 0 stars, I would. I moved from out of state and have fairly restrictive insurance coverage, so Streitfeld was one of three psychiatrists available to me, and the one who had the earliest availability. Here's why I won't ever be going back, and think it'll be worth it to be another doctor's waitlist until November. 1) He dismissed all of my prior diagnoses within 20 minutes for absurd reasons ranging from "you have friends, so you can't be autistic" to "you don't have any family history of this, so you can't have it either" with a variety of condescension peppered in between. 2) He also decided that my combination of medications was "the worst ever" and chastised me for being on a very high dose of a particular medication, despite the fact that I am 6 feet tall and over 200 pounds. 3) He argued with and talked over me to the point where he himself interjected with a "see I CAN listen, heh heh" at one point, and (4) insisted on calling me "young lady" repeatedly, even though I asked him to stop. After an off-putting office visit, during which I confirmed that all my meds would be prescribed and sent to the pharmacy, only the new one had been. I had to call his office and ask them to issue the other scripts, and they did, but in ludicrous quantities based on his personal opinion of the drug. (4 from him vs. 60 from my previous psychiatrists, at the same cost to me). I rehashed the experience with my psychologist today, and it turns out he has a bad reputation among his colleagues as well. Finally, I'm aware this is petty, but it's also humorous and instructive: he has like 20 diplomas hanging on his wall, which is far too many, and they're hung so that HE sees them rather than his patients. After my regular doctor moved out of state, I was desperate to find a replacement, I didn't think it would be so difficult. Boy, was I wrong. I should have known something was up when I didn't have to wait several weeks to months for an initial visit to Streitfeld. He was impatient and made feel rushed, even though I was the one who was kept waiting over 45 minutes for my appointment. I can only assume he was trying to make up for lost time for running behind. He argued with me about my previous Rx, basically insulting my former doc. Saying, the script does not treat my particular malady. Ugh, thank God for the Internet. I pulled it up on my phone to show him that it has been successfully used off label for YEARS! Pompous A. And then, I shouldn't even get started on the complete and utter ineptitude of the receptionists! Scheduling and billing was such a hassle. And get this, they require 72 hour cancellation notice. What?! I called over 24 hours in advance because of my gastro flu bug and was told I would be charged if I did not show! So I carried my sick self down there with a barf bucket and he did some shuffling around with a lame excuse about how that rule is for people who cancel to go to movies and/or shopping...whatever! I'm like, how 'bout you train your staff? Then he has this fancy machine-pseudo science, a baby ECT. He really pushes it when you got the right insurance...hmmmmm. Does that sum it up for you? I tried to make an appointment by phone. I left messages that were never returned. I decided to visit the office in person. I found the office manager to be rude, smug, and condescending. She complained about the workload her staff has and was totally dismissive of me. She said there was no way they could return all the calls they get each day. Really? They could hire someone to make phone calls from her/his home for a very small price. That person would only have to explain that the doctor is not accepting new patients and that they have no recommendations. That, delivered in an apologetic tone, would at least let people know that their call mattered enough to warrant a return call. I would never consider using this doctor. If he is that unprofessional in his office management, I wouldn't trust him to be professional in matters that could affect my health. read more

My son saw dr streitfeld twice. The first thing he did was diagnose my son with ADHD then asked me what medicine I wanted. When my husband and I asked our options he scowled and huffed like we were complete idiots. Which he would be correct this is not our field of study it was his. At our second appointment we got an Rx for a medication. It was apparently a new one because it was liquid and wasn't readily available. When I called dr streitfelds office to ask for something more commonly used I was informed that I had to come in for another appointment. When asked y he couldn't just write it for our second choice medication his assistant had no answer. When I told her I wasn't going to pay another co pay just to get another Rx she informed me then maybe I should find another doctor. Which I did and have been very happy ever since. read more

This Dr. is very dangerous! Please, don't use him. He has no ideas how to prescribe medications or to follow up on symptoms. My father ended up in the hospital with Seratonin Syndrome because he prescribed 8 different medications in 8 years. This is something you could die from! When we called him about his symptoms getting worse, he took him off everything cold turkey and that's when he ended up in the hospital. My father had to sign the medical release of records to get all the records and all Dr. Streitfeld said to him, was "Good luck to you." This guy is literally the worst doctor I've ever dealt with. He does not listen or care about my concerns. He sits there and takes notes, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't look at them later. Did not get past the receptionist to see the doctor. She was the rudest "professional" I have ever met! I made an appointment months ago for last month and when I showed up I was told that a previous employee had failed to log the appointment and I could reschedule. They had nothing available for months and told me they would call me when an earlier one came available. Well that was today. I was 15 minutes late and was told that the Dr. could not see me (he had lunch in 40 minutes) and I would be charged a $100 missed appointment fee. When I reminded her about the previous appointment and the fact that it was their fault and I did not charge them a missed appointment fee she would not listen and talked over me. Rude. Very rude. My wife just got off the phone with her and received the same treatment. And to think she works for a psychiatrist who treats people with mental and emotional troubles is frightening. I am not sure how Dr. Steitfeld is as a doctor as I have not seen him and will not as long as she is at the front desk. I plan on exhausting all avenues available in the complaint process to let them know they have a problem. And if you read this Dr. Streitfeld, I suggest you train you staff in customer service or get new staff. Oh and a courtesy call a day ahead to remind patients of appointments may be a good idea. I did not experience ANY negative feelings about my appointment. As a new patient I spent an hour in Dr. Streitfeld's office. I feel he was very thorough, he listened to me, and he took my past history into account when treating me. Overall, I am very happy at this point with Dr. Streitfeld's treatment and bedside manner. I just left the office about a little over and hour ago. I've had no negative experience. I had in mind one particular drug that would help my ADD. He was sincere about alternatives given my health and habits. After reading about the one recommended by Dr. Streifeld, I found that it was a better fit and I had no idea this non-stimulant alternative was out there. The reception and or staff were all very polite and positive. The reviews I've read do not currently reflect what my experiences were today and I encourage anyone with positive experiences to post. read more

Find someone new. I found a new doctor after my last appointment with this man. I thought it was odd that he asked me what medications I wanted to try but I trusted his guidance. After being a patient for over 6 months, I decided that it was time to find a new psychiatrist because of the comments he made. If a doctor feels the need to tell a patient that they should be grateful because patients come from all states to see him, it doesn't say a whole lot outside of the fact that he is full of himself. I wanted to cry in front of him but I held back and he apologized for saying what he did and then changed the subject to focus on something positive. Not only will he charge you outside of your insurance, he will also make you feel worse if you tell him that you may be looking for a new doctor that's closer to work/home. I cancelled the following scheduled appointment before I left because I knew I would never feel comfortable around that kind of person. I would not recommend him if you're seeking professional help.
