During our visit to Brisbane we were on the hunt for kid friendly activities around the city and Streets Beach located just a few steps from our hotel at Rydges in the Southbank.
The beach itself is very tiny and it was bit cramped since we came during the summer time. Our family literally had to wait for a spot to open up in the sand area before we could settle our stuff down. The water is very shallow and doesn't get any deeper than a couple feet so perfect for young kids. Even then there are lifeguards on site to watch over the area.
The views you get from Streets is also spectacular as you can see the building skyline across the river and behind you are the hotels at the southbank.
There is also a pool not too far away and an area with various water fountains shoot out of the ground so there are other options to choose from if the beach is super crowded. And there are tons of restaurants near the area to choose from if you want a quick bite before or after your visit. read more
