My experience at this salon was unfortunately really horrible. I would be very careful booking here, especially with the stylist Jasmine. I had two consultations with her, one was 2 weeks before I went in for my appointment and the other right before my appointment in which I showed her many pictures, even an AI version of myself with the color of hair I was looking for. I wanted something apricot blonde, brighter, and lighter than what I had going on. And she assured me she knew exactly what I was going for and would "order a special Demi gloss that was Golden" to use on my hair." This made me feel like she knew what she was doing, even though I was still hesitant as I'm new to the area. When I went in for my appointment, again, I showed her the picture and we discussed what the plan for my hair was, including adding layers. We used the words, Sunkissed, warm, golden, apricot, BLONDE, light and bright, etc......what I got was unfortunately the complete opposite. She tried to sell me on it at the end of 4 1/2 hours and almost $300. She even took me outside to show me how "golden" it was with a mirror although I couldn't quite see what she was talking about. She told me since it was a Demi gloss that it would wash out and the strawberry color used (not the alleged golden gloss she claimed she ordered for me) would pick up the highlights that were put in before the gloss. I thought this might be true and after a few washes, I might be getting closer to what I came in for. Usually, after I get my hair done, I am inundated with compliments. Since getting it done and seeing my friends and colleagues, I have had absolutely zero comments on my hair - almost like they were trying to avoid talking about it. The only comment I got was "what made you want to dye your hair brown?" Again, this is the complete opposite of what I went in for. I am a natural dirty blonde, I've always had my hair blonde, and I identify as blonde. Over the past few months as I've been waiting for the Demi gloss to wash out, it's been a hard adjustment to viewi myself as brunette. Not because there's anything wrong with it, just because it's not who I am or how I see myself and not flattering on my complexion. Again, just be very careful before booking here. If you are trying to cover Gray's and simply just want a reddish brownish hue this is probably the place to go, otherwise I would go somewhere with more experienced and attuned stylists. To go from showing her the picture of what I wanted to what I walked out with is just completely missing the mark big time. Oh, and the layers? I got a trim. I wouldn't go back here... ever. and wouldn't trust the stylist to fix or redo. what happened. So now I am left trying to find someone who will actually achieve the results I want. I'm going through and have been going through a tough time in life for the past 2 to 3 years and haven't touched my hair. Even though I haven't touched my hair or stepped in a salon, I've still gotten compliments on my long beautiful ombré blonde hair. I look at pictures from before I went in and ask myself what was I thinking? I wish I left it alone as it was much closer to what I wanted! I was hoping for something uplifting and bright to bring me into a new chapter of hope in my life. but instead I got something dark, depressing, and again- just completely not what I wanted. It's just hair, and compared to what I've been going through. I try to remind myself that, but let's be honest, it's disappointing. Be careful here. read more

The couple of times we've gotten into the salon, the ladies do a decent cut and blowdry, which is why this is getting more than one star. But my gosh, it is DIFFICULT to make an appointment. No one answers the phone. No one calls back - if nothing else, to tell you that your requested date/time isn't available. Perhaps, the salon is maxed out and doesn't need newish customers - but if that case, please let us know. I think I'm done with Strawberry Blond. read more

I've been to strawberry blonde salon twice Jasmine is my hair tech. I'm trying to bleach my hair from brown and gray to white. Jasmine is the best she's very knowledgeable very professional and her personality is sweet as well as her kind disposition. I just love this woman she's so easy to work with. Yesterday she cut and conditioned my hair, she always makes you feel comfortable. The shampoo and deep conditioner came with a few minutes of neck and scalp massage I thought I was gonna fall asleep. Jasmine is wonderful. The salon is clean, friendly and has a very comfortable atmosphere. You must go see Jasmine for all your hair needs. I highly recommend this salon. I went to Alexis at Strawberry Blonde for microblading and my brows look amazing!! I have had them microbladed twice previous to her and within a couple months the ink would fall out... it's been 3 months since my last touch up and they look amazing still! She was very professional and made sure to check up on me during the healing process. She got me in as soon as possible for my touch up and let me know if there was any other spots I felt needed to be touched up she would Take care of it as soon as they were healed. First off- Anna is amazing!! I have only gone to one person in 18 years to do highlights and cuts so I was nervous about going to someone new when I moved. She did an awesome meticulous job very quickly and said to come back if I thought it wasn't the exact shade I wanted. I decided to do something fun and after many years of not going to a salon, I made an appointment. The place is hard to find, fyi, so make sure you know where you're going. When I got there the hairdresser informed me that who ever scheduled the appointment has no idea how long treatments take and didn't schedule enough time for what I wanted. I had rearranged my whole work schedule to get there because I was told the ONLY gal that could do this color was only there two days a week. The hairdresser told me that it would be a complete waste of time and money to get a pink hombre because it would just wash out super fast and basically ruin my hair because of the bleaching. I do appreciate the honesty, but where are all these people, many with dark hair just like mine, getting all their fabulous colors done? I see some amazing looks, but was told it was a lost cause for me, so I decided against it. Then I asked for a deep conditioning with a shine or "gloss" treatment. I was again told it was a complete waste of time and money and would just wash out very quickly. Hmmm. Where are all these ladies with long hair getting their gloss jobs done? So I decided on just a deep conditioning treatment. I came in the following day for this and asked for just a super simple straight blunt cut on the back. I usually just do it at home myself, it's super easy and literally ONE STRAIGHT LINE. It didn't take longer than 5 minutes to cut, she spent more time brushing my hair which was annoying. The "deep condition" didn't look or feel ANY different. My hair was not softer, shinier and I actually get much better results with just a vinegar rinse at home for pennies a wash. The price for this 5 minute cut? $45 plus another $30 to condition it. I walked out $75 later totally flabbergasted I paid that much and really regretting going through with this at all. Poor communication, poor service and a stylist that didn't really seem to know what to do with long dark curly hair. I left in tears. Do yourself a favor and just skip this place. There has to be better options. Find someone who is enthusiastic and inspired and POSITIVE about doing your hair. read more

Thank you! Gustavo saved the day. I had gone to a different Salon in SLO yesterday and received a horrible haircut, quite possibly the worst of my life. It was so bad I cringed every time I looked in the mirror. I wasn't sure it could be salvaged. But I called Strawberry Blonde and they got me in to see Gustavo. He not only fixed what was a terrible, ugly, uneven mess, he turned it into one of the cutest haircuts I've ever had! I'm so grateful! read more
