Exceeds expectations for a hotel restaurant (in Polonia Palace Hotel). The farm cheese appetizer had a selection of six soft cheeses, both cow- and goat-milk. The herring appetizer was brined more mildly than German or Scandinavian counterparts, and more interesting in texture. Mains of duck and sea bass were excellently prepared and flavorful. Desserts of tarte tartn, with cinnamon ice cream and the bitter chocolate fondant with goat cheese ice cream completed a wonderful meal. The alcoholic beverages, other than wine, seemed to be provided by their "sister" bistro Bojangles, the jazz club a few steps away in the Hotel. A wide selection of aperitifs, cognacs and vodkas was available - far too many to sample of one evening. Highly recommended for an evening out.
Although the waitstaff spoke competent English, I was glad to supplement my limited Polish using Google translate. read more
