OK, I stayed in Sofitel 5 nights on business. To be objective, it is 4.5 stars, not quite 5.
Location is quite central, convenient to both Stare Miasto (Old Town) and Novi Swiat, part of Royal Route. Hotel is facing Pilsudski Square, one of the main city square with tons of happenings and historical significance. The lobby and common areas on the ground floor are rather tastefully appointed and decorated, but way too busy. Tons of groups, events, etc. Preferred choice or cruise ship passengers on the group tours, alas. There was dance festival over the weekend in September too, when I stayed in Sofitel. Despite all crowds, I have to compliment the front desk staff and service in general: everyone was friendly, cheerful and efficient. All my questions and requests were answered promptly, and everything was taken care of. The rooms were slightly dated, but clean, nicely appointed, well decorated, and ample sized. Well, at least my upgraded room: being ALL Platinum Member with Accor certainly counts there @Sofitel Warsaw. Nice Platinum amenity too, and few complimentary drinks. The rate was surprisingly reasonable, at least when you pay in USD. USD to Zloty conversion is still favorable. Drinks in the bar were good, and service from bartenders was friendly too. I didn't eat breakfast in hotel. Mostly, I prefer local eateries to bland and overpriced hotel breakfasts, Warsaw was no exception. All in all, enjoyable 5 night stay. Highly recommend. read more
