Basically Stratos is the closes thing you get to a NYC rooftop in Oslo (or at least the only one I've come across so far). The hour long line outside, the "to cool for the world" crowd and the expensive drinks! At some level I want to say that I hate these kind of places but it would be a lie.
There is something about drinking outside on top of a building not caring about anything but what is in front of you at that moment. I am a total sucker for it. The music and the dancing I don't really care for, but at the same time after a couple of drinks who doesn't like to shake their butt on the dance floor. The view, the fresh air and a good drink is all I need.
A lot of people say the service here is bad, however I must say I think they are pretty nice. Our bartender paid attention to us, he mixed amazing drinks and was polite. What more can you ask for at a crowded bar. If you are one of those people yelling at your bartender, just stop, he will not give you good service!
Over all Stratos is an enjoyable place. Just get there early to avoid the lines, get your name on some sort of guest list (I believe they have one) or just be prepared to stand in line. That being said most places around Youngstorget do have lines so I don't understand the big fuss about it.
Probably never gonna be a regular but definitely recommend! read more
