This is a "house with a tower" style lighthouse rather than the usual conical tower you'd see at many others. It is open for tours but I was here early on Sunday morning and the staff was not here yet. Built in 1849 and only 40 feet high, it has undergone extensive renovations recently but it very endangered by erosion. The city and county and state have installed sandbags and such to try to keep as much of the land as possible but I don't know that it's working. Keep it up, y'all. The last bit of the road to East Point is sand and the area around the lighthouse was pretty dense with sand fleas and other tiny bugs. I did not spend too much time here today. It's not the longest stop, but it's worth visiting if you're already exploring Cape May Point, the lighthouse, and nearby attractions. It's also on sunset beach if you want to stop by, near gift shop and a restaurant on the beach.

The sand wasn't too hot. There isn't any shade so make sure you bring your own! Reapply sunscreen again and again! Water felt clean we saw dolphins in the distance, bird nests and even whale bones from a recently buried whale! So many memories on this beach from when we were young and so many new ones with a new generation of our family to enjoy it for the first time.

You need beach tags but we had a hook up's on loan. Clean bathrooms close by to the beach - bonus! A decent amount of restaurants. We enjoyed the quiet at the shore for a change.

Stopped by last night hoping to get some sunset photos from the Ventnor City Fishing Pier but was a…read morelittle late and decided to take a walk out on the Pier. Beautiful, specious and clean. Rest rooms were available and we're well maintained. Halfway out, there was a booth manned by a very friendly and informative lady. I thought there might be a charge to enter the furthest section but she explained they charge a fee for Fishing and allowed me in to explore and take some photos. She also explained the types of fish caught in the area and they also would see porpoise and some whales. Great night at Ventnor City Fishing Pier. Also, a block away was St. John's by The Sea - very nice, well kept church
