There are two granite statues with a police badge and a firefighter helmet at the top with a police K9 dog nearby with other artifacts from ground zero. A steel beam was recovered from the World Trade Center site and donated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The memorial is very well maintained and a great addition to some of the historic landmarks along the boardwalk.

The lifeguard blew his whistle but Ian could not swim back to shore so before you knew it this brave young lifeguard jumped off the bench and ran into the ocean with one goal in mind to save him. This building holds all municipal departments except for the building and code enforcement folks, they are currently two blocks away. "The Good" - Get your beach badges here. - Pay your taxes and meet your elected officials. "The Meh" - The parking lot is for city employees only... kinda makes it difficult to find a spot on the street, with the three spots out front. "The Bad" - Nothing really bad to comment on.

When I was going from New Jersey to Delaware I decided to take the scenic route. This causeway is actually called the Howard S. Stainton Memorial Causeway. Connecting Ocean City to Somers Point, this causeway takes State Route 52 over the water. While on the drive over the causeway you get some great views. Ironically, when the original causeway opened it was a toll road on its own. Then the state of New Jersey bought it and that changed. They also replace the original with a four lane bridge. This takes you over Great Egg Harbor Bay. Just another place you probably wouldn't notice otherwise and take for granted.
