As line leader of the potential jurors I got to perform the following tasks- 1. Press the down button on elevator 2. Press the number 6 3. avoid mass confusion and lead the group into court #3 4. Request bathroom break 5. count out the water fountain drink limit so we can all have a chance ("1,2,3,4 Switch") 6. First choice of smock in the art room 7. Being the envy of the older Albanian woman who said I looked like her half- brother. The VHS converted to DVD was shown about 1 hour into arrival- It proved to us that we are here for an important reason but also reiterrated that we all have busy (lie) and important (again, a lie) ilves. The white business type folks gathered round the glass windows- some to gain a vantage point over the beautiful city and coast line dotted with projects, abandoned homes, and failed revitalization projects, others to huddle around the weak wireless signal dripping out of the almost nearby Holiday Inn. If you have never been to this city, its not like the other "ports" in CT ie. westport, southport- BPT is a city with a net exodus of people and net inflow of brownfield sites.- I mean, I still like it. The camaradie formed inside jury selection is like no other- The only way to make friends is by what the people have on, what extra items they brought in or what they look like. Its a microcosm of high school- "You have a golf shirt on- you play golf, lets talk or you have a nice cloche, where did you get it? Marshalls? I love the Marshalls on North Ave, No metal detectors! An impromptu game of go fish broke out in the back, but seemed to fold quickly do to conflict of the rules, or they might have been using a pinochle deck. Some advice, when you walk in- sit in the fron right seats closest to the windows- when they call for check in- you will be first. Also- When you get dismissed from a case, dont be upset- Its like being found not guilty.

I think I waited about 20 minutes tops so it wasn't too bad. What really stood out about my visit here was the lady that was assisting me. She was soooooooooooooo cordial, sooooooooooooo caring...I felt like I'd known her forever. She fixed what needed to be done so I get my food money and cash money each month (THANK GOD!!!!!). So if this office has employee of the month I vote for Isabel!!!!!!!! She deserves a raise and a bonus for being so kind to the public. GOD BLESS HER!!!!!!!!!!!! Another lovely library - it shares a parking lot with some sort of health center, an old barn, and…read morea graveyard. It's an interesting neighborhood. The library is pretty good sized, and the librarians very friendly. Their displays are seasonal and fun - their Halloween must be amazing. People patiently waited in line to check out, which to me shows loyal patrons who know they will be helped. Also, they have a pay phone! It might be a historical monument by now.

Police are supposed to be there to serve and protect us right? Last night my husband and two little…read morebabies were driving home to NH from visiting family in NJ and my car broke down on the merit parkway. We were able to pull off on to the highway shoulder but it was dark and cars were flying going atleast 80-100mph by us and our car would shake. I immediately called a towing company but they were not able to get to us for 45 min. I called the CT state police and asked if an officer would kindly come and sit with their lights on considering the circumstances and the officer on the phone was extremely condescending and told me that no officer would sit with me unless we were blocking traffic. He then told me he would have someone do a drive by to make sure we were safe and no one ever even did that. I was extremely disappointed because being in that type of situation with my two young babies is scary. Do better CT state police.
