We worked with SFR for about three years, and though the work was adequate, there was something very slippery about it. The staff kept changing, the costs dramatically increased (doubling during COVID), and Charity was a shadowy figure--never a clear communicator, never addressing questions forthrightly, and never once appearing so we could see her face on Zoom. During COVID, she encouraged her clients to apply for an ERC rebate on federal taxes. The stickler was that she required an upfront payment of $5k, and she said we would be eligible for $15k. I later found that the IRS explicitly warned people not to pay upfront for this rebate. In the event, it took over 2 years for us to get the ERC, and it was for about $7.5k. In other words, SFR took about 70% of the payment, and we got 30%. Nice work when you can get it. She also continued to charge us a full accounting fee for our business when our revenue dried up and never once suggested we put the business on pause or instead become an S-corp. We were actually spending more on accounting than we were getting in revenue. Later, when we had to wind down the business, no one replied to our emails, and our Quickbooks was still linked to them. We actually couldn't download transactions as a result. We felt like their captive. Eventually, we extricated ourselves with no help from them. She is definitely looking out for number one, and you are most definitely not number one. Hard pass. read more
