I have been going to Tee for a few years now after finding her on instagram. She is so talented with color, takes time to make sure your hair is perfect, and also very personable! I look forward to catching up with her whenever I get my hair done. She always nails exactly what I am looking for whether it be subtle highlights or something more drastic. Can't recommend enough, Tee is the best! read more

I came to Tee after months of trying to figure out where to go, and fearing a botched dye. So glad I did! She did an amazing job with my hair. I'm a huge noob when it comes to hair in general, and I have a hard time even knowing what I want. Tee knew exactly what I wanted, even though I wasn't even completely sure! Haha. I love my new hair, and will defs keep coming to her. She's makes you feel super comfortable as well. Five stars on my end. read more

Stranded By Tee - Hair Stylists Near Me - San Francisco , California

I have been seeing Tee for the last 3-4 years on and off depending on availability and she's one of the best for textured lob cuts as as well as styling. I have not gotten to do highlights with her yet but have gotten roots melts and touch ups and they seem to last a while. She used to work at Tonie's hair salon on Clement before moving her business to a smaller and more intimate location. She tries to accommodate me last minute while I've been living out of state and is fairly easy to reach by text. Her cuts are always on point and she's even fixed bad cuts from other salons I've gotten due to Seattle not having as many good hair stylists who knew the specific point cutting technique I like. I highly recommended her for trendy cuts and color and her prices are reasonable when compared to other hair stylists who charge more but with less than stellar results. Oh and did I mention the amazing scalp massages she gives?! read more

I've actually written for a review for Tee when she was still at Tonie's on Clement. simply stated, I trust Tee and her expertise. I've gotten three balayage sessions, one baby light session and a cut from here throughout these two years. I always leave satisfied and she's very attuned to what I want. I'm also not very picky at all but she'll tell me what she thinks is best for my hair. I love getting to spend time in her chair, conversing and getting pampered. she's worth it and I recommend her to all my friends! read more

Bleh. When I first walked in, Tee was alarmed that I have pitch black hair. She asked if I had dyed it black, but I told it was my natural hair color. She said it would be hard to dye it, which confused me. You're working with virgin black hair... that's like a brand new canvas for you to paint on! I wanted balayage, but it didn't come out as such. I think the night was getting long and she was getting tired after two hours so she gave up on me. Two weeks out... my hair turned ORANGE. Uhhh I am pretty sure it shouldn't have turned orange if she used the right/enough toner. Whatever, I went and bought more toner and brought my hair back to live myself. It was just a bit annoying to do so. I've gone to another hair stylist with virgin black hair and she was able to turn it platinum blond with NO problem. Therefore, I'm guessing Tee is only good with dealing with damaged hair, where it is easier to dye since it's used to harsh chemicals. I wouldn't recommend anyone with virgin hair to come here. She's not patient enough to do the job correctly. read more

Had my first session with Tee over 2 months ago and will be coming back later this month. She did an amazing job on my hair and was able to give me an ashy color like I requested. I received so many compliments and even now after the color has faded out! I'm looking forward to getting the second session done and removing more of the brass out of my hair after years of hair dye and stubborn asian black hair. She listened to what I wanted and gave suggestions based on pictures that I showed her. After she was done, I was a little concerned that the blonde in my hair was too ashy grey compared to the warmer parts of my hair. Surprisingly it grew on me and of course faded out after a couple of washes into more of an ash blonde. Confident that we will be able to accomplish the desired color in this next session, if not, still something amazing that compliments my look. She is already gaining popularity as she is booked out 1-2 months in advance, hopefully that doesn't affect my ability to get an appointment! read more

I've been a client of Tee's since 2013 and I'd say she is, hands down, the absolute best of the best! Especially when it comes to a balayage, she SLAYS!!! Before my 1st appointment with her, I was totally unhappy with a balayage I had gotten from an overpriced upscale salon in downtown San Jose. I even had them redo it but still, I was left disappointed. That's when I found Tee. She fixed the "problem" that was on my head and transformed it with just 1 session. Every session thereafter just got better. She eventually led my hair to a blonde, which I've never considered before, and I absolutely loved it!!! That's when I knew I trusted her whole heartedly with my tresses. Since then, I have given her the power to turn me grey, blue, pink, and even rainbow! I would have never, in a million years, would've given anyone that chance before. But now, only one person is allowed to, and her name is TEE. read more

Tee is a super skilled make-up artist and hair stylist! She was my go-to girl for my engagement pictures, wedding day, and my cultural wedding celebration. She really takes into consideration your concerns and make-up likes/dislikes so you feel comfortable and of course, beautiful! A little about me, I don't normally wear makeup (at most, eyeliner/eye-shadow and eyebrows) and don't really know much about make-up--and on top of that I have cosmetic allergies that led me to avoid make-up... so this process was extra anxiety-filled for me. I had to do multiple trials with her only because I have really sensitive skin--she was super patient and really only tried products on me that I was comfortable with. In the end, I didn't have any skin reaction to any of her products and I got many compliments from my friends! She is super sweet and approachable and definitely responsive and always on time! For the wedding day, her and her team of two (Sandra and Lina) worked on me, my 6 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and 2 mothers. We had a tight schedule due to some cultural traditions so we started Hair/MU at 5am and everyone was done by 8:30-9:00am. She was definitely one of my favorite vendors and I would recommend her to anyone for engagement, wedding, or just for fun! Samples from her hair/MU skills can be seen in my photographer's blog posts Engagement Photos from Jasmine Lee Photography on her blog: http://www.jasmineleephotography.com/blog/2014/02/10/san-francisco-engagement-potrero-hillembarcarderopier-7-jenny-ansony/ Wedding Photos from Jasmine Lee Photography on her blog: http://www.jasmineleephotography.com/blog/2014/09/18/sneak-peek-wedding-jenny-ansony/ ... Tee is amazing! I'm a busy mom and its hard for me to find time to get my haircut or dyed professionally due to my busy schedule. I'm always on instagram looking for style inspirations and I came across her instagram account. I thought to myself "what is balayage highlights and how can I get it because it looks so low-maintenance!" I decided to contact Tee through a mutual friend of ours and was not disappointed. Tee is sweet, knowledgeable and a super qualified beauty guru. I hadn't dyed my hair since high school and I wanted something low-maintenance and easy to take care of. She added subtle highlights to my hair and I left the salon a happy camper. I've been back quite a few times just for her to trim the ends and keep my balayage looking fresh. I get a lot of compliments on my hair now and people always ask me if I've dyed it again. I tell them no because the highlights look so natural that as my hair grows out, it looks different at every length. Thanks to Tee, I can have color in my hair without worry about coming back every six weeks for touch ups. She's an amazing artist and you will not regret your visit to her salon. read more

Tee was so awesome with my hair. I love the color and she made sure it was exactly what I want. I know my hairs is black virgin but she knows how to do for the first time color. The salon is really cool and I can wait for my next appointment. read more

Tee is the absolute best! She's been doing my hair since 2011 and I've never went to anyone else since. I've also recommended all my friends to her and she have not disappoint and all my friends love her. I go from dark to blonde, then dark again...grow out my hair then short and she's been there every step of the way! Tee is amazing at what she does. She is my hairstylist for life! read more

Tee is my amazingly-qualified, yet humble, beauty/hair guru. She is extremely easy going, knows how to extract your wants & needs and makes you feel comfortable despite your comfort level with hair & makeup. She is precise with her application, because she seeks perfection with each strand. She's very easy to work with, responsive and accommodating. I was in a wedding recently and we hired her to do our hair (3 bridesmaids). Not only did she do an amazing job, she even came with coffee in tow at 6am. Highly recommend her if you need a haircut, hair color, ombre/bayalage or a hair/makeup artist for a special day. You won't be disappointed! read more

Tee ... oh Tee.. what else can I say that hasn't been mentioned in the other reviews.. She's just amazing. My love affair first started when I was in desperate search for a balayage pro. I would obsess over @guytang's instagram account and drool over all the great hair pictures. One day a friend of mine introduced me to a friend of hers @teedoesmyhair once I saw her pictures, I knew I had to go see her. I made my first appointment and ever since then I'm a loyal visitor of her salon. I get compliments on my hair on a regular basis and I love it! :) So if you're in need of a good hair color lovin, go see Tee. read more

I've gone to Tee for years now & I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair! She always explains the process of going lighter or getting colored. She cares about achieving my hair goals without damaging my hair in the process. And for that, my hair was always soft, shiny, and stayed healthy. I appreciate her kindness, professionalism, and my therapy sessions (lol!). Thanks Tee! You're the best! read more

What can I say? Let me tell you sisters! My first experience was incredible! I didn't know what to expect when I showed up to her studio. I was hoping she could do something to fix my ugly grown out super brassy orange hair. I showed her a picture of how I wanted to achieve a grey balayage. Let her know about the past damages or color thats been done to your hair, so she will know how to fix the problem. I was kind of nervous of nervous of how my hair was going to turned out. It better then what I expected! She explained and told me why my hair was so orange and it can't be fully grey until all my orange was out. But I was overly happy with the outcome it still looks grey! My hair doesn't even feel drying like other hair salons. [Keep in mind some hair color requires more then one session to achieve it's actual color.] She is good at what she does! I can't get over how my hair turned out!! Got many compliments and recommend Tee Pham. Tee you did an amazing job on my hair! You know I'll be back! Thanks so much! read more

I stumbled upon Tee's page on IG through mutual friends and had to try her. I've been to her twice now and hands down, she is amazing. She is super patient, listens to what you're trying to achieve and walks you through the process every step of the way. She takes her time to ensure you walk out of there feeling and looking great every time. My hair feels and looks healthier and I'm constantly getting compliments on the color and cut! On top of the amazing work she does on your hair, she just makes the entire experience enjoyable. From the minute you walk into her cute and chic studio, she makes you feel at home as if you're just hanging out with one of your girlfriends. She is super sweet and slays at the hair game! So thankful I have her taking care of my hair! read more

I have been going to Tee for about a year now & I honestly wouldn't let anyone else touch my hair! When I first came to her, I had about 50 shades of yellow & orange in my hair because I thought I could bleach my own hair for some reason . It was definitely a mess & Tee performed a miracle & fixed it for me. She's super nice & personable. You can tell she loves to do her job & will always make sure to send her clients home happy. Can't wait to come see her again! read more

Tee is a master at her craft. Before her, I would hardly go to get my hair done because I didn't trust anyone. She is patient, meticulous and intuitively knows what will look best for each individual. She also listens - if you say you want low maintenance, she will believe you. Tee is probably one of the very few stylists who will respect your wishes and not shame you when you've tried to do horrible things to your hair by yourself, haha. I've done partial balayage and cuts with her, and every time it's subtle perfection. I will never go to anyone else as long as she is in business. read more

I went to Tee about two years ago after a disaster ombre session from another salon. I was actually recommended by a hairstylist friend out of state, just based on her IG pics. Not only did she fit me into her busy schedule to fix my hair before a big event but she also SAVED me! I've now been going to her ever since. She's super sweet and doesn't mind that I ask a million questions. She is also very honest about your current hair color versus the results you are looking for. I've definitely struggled with finding someone to trust with my hair in the city but not anymore! Tee recently relocated but I love not having to worry about parking! read more

Tee is the absolute best. Tee has been my main and only hair colorist for the past few years. After a few damaging hair coloring sessions at other salons, I've finally found my go to hair guru. She is always able to color my hair exactly how I want and lets me know exactly what to expect for each session. Depending on the lightness of my needs, we sometimes need a few sessions which definitely helps keep my hair healthy and vibrant. Couldn't be happier with such an experienced and sweet hair stylist! read more

Tee is an amazing hairstylist and person! She is exemplary at her job and is very knowledgeable. Tee is amazing! I first came to her about half a year ago with crispy hair and aspirations of iridescent blonde. After examining my hair and listening to what I wanted to get to-Tee recommended I wait until my hair was longer so we could cut off all the overprocessed hair and start fresh. She took the time to explain the process and the best approach to keep my hair healthy and get to the color I wanted. That day she recommended I only do a toner to freshen the blonde I already had. That day I left with gorgeous metallic grey that helped to take out all the brassiness from my color. A couple months later I came back and was ready to cut off all the dead hair- now I have cute long bob and healthy hair ready for my next appt in two weeks! Tee truly knows what she's talking about and if you are patient and follows her recommendations she will help you to get to your hair goals! read more

I have commitment issues with hair. It took me years to find someone I could trust to cut my hair, and even now, I'm not sure how set I am with her. So when I walked in with my first appointment with Tee, I feel like I finally found something good. When I met with Tee on Friday night, the first thing she did was get to know me and my hair. I told her about my experiences with my hair (roll out of bed, comb, and run out) as well as what I've done with my hair (yes, that is old grown out dye at the tips). She then asked me what I wanted and walked me through the process. It was educational to learn about the spectrum of hair color as well as the different processes and what they meant (lift is taking away color, toning is adding color). After getting through the basics, she began the entire process. Honestly, if it was me, I totally wished the process was shorter. This is at no fault of the stylist, but I have issues with sitting still and there was a lot of sitting. Tee had magazines, and even let me know that I could take a nap while she continued to paint. Long story short, I walked out with a lovely brown balayage, which is temporary as I'll be seeing her in July to get my second session in. Here's some helpful advice in my favorite format: -Be realistic. During my consultation, Tee was upfront that blonde is hard to achieve on the first time an is dependent on my hair. We were able to get it pretty light the first time, but not where my ideal is. -Trust the process and stylist. Tee could have gone a bit more aggressively with my hair, but I appreciate her putting the integrity of my hair first. Theres no point in having colored hair if its super fried. -Ask questions. I feel like I asked Tee so many. What's the difference between lifting and toning? Can I take a nap? How should I take care of the color? Is it better to dye dirty or clean hair? (the answer is dirty btw) I think I got much more out of the appointment. -She recently converted her in-laws basement into a home studio. It's super cute and I preferred it. There's parking! and much less crazy than clement. -Text her. I wish I had done this. Tee is super responsive and she might have an earlier timeslot blocked off! read more

Tee is so talented with hair!! I've been going to her since last October with my boxed dye hair and three session later she manage to fix my hair to where it is today I'm in love with it now and hopefully we can add some color to my hair next time around. :) I can count on her honest advices for my hair and very caring!! read more

I've been consistently going to Tee for a little over a year now (every 5 to 6 weeks). She's amazing! Tee is sweet, talented, and easy to talk to. When I first went to her, she chopped my boring long hair into a fun asymmetrical bob. Since then, I've been getting compliments on my hair(from cut to color) Tee was able to get my hair to the perfect bleached color in two sessions. Now my hair can take whatever crazy color it wants! I love all the colors Tee puts into my hair. I highly recommend her! Check out her instagram too! read more

This review is a little delayed as I am already coming up on my second session. Tee was great! She is very, nice, personable and easy going. She was very honest about my color going into the appointment and that I may not get the exact color results that I wanted because of old color. I started with really old honey colored Balayage and wanted to be ashy brown with grey and even showed her pictures of lilac. I am a very particular person and really do not do my hair very often. She was able to take the pictures that I showed her and gave me the perfect blend of the look that I was going for. Even though she immediately was not thrilled about how the overall color turned out I was in love and had no problems. She was able to take by old color and give me the exact combination of brown, grey, with even a little lilac. She has a keen eye for what she thinks will look good but will also give the best results. My hair is still a work in progress but I have been so impressed and happy that I can't wait for my next session! read more

I will not be having anyone else touch my hair besides Tee! I'm always nervous about finding someone to do anything with my hair and Tee was recommended to me by a friend. I had just added some color to my hair before moving to the city so I wanted to find someone who wouldn't mess it up. Tee actually made it so much better! The color was noticeable yet subtle and some people have thought it was my natural hair color. She knew exactly what i needed and gave me tips and tricks for keeping up with the color. She is so sweet and friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend her! Follow her on IG and you can see all her great work! read more

I have been coming to Tee for many years now and she always does an amazing job, sometimes she even exceeds my expectations. I use to go from salon to salon having to trial and error, wasting time/money, and depleting my hair health because Asian hair is just that difficult (i guess). Once I found Tee, it was such a relief that someone finally understood how to work with Asian hair and eliminating brassy tones. She's so patient and I appreciate that because I always take the last appointment of the day due to my work schedule and she still seems to give me her all. I've gotten ombre, balayage, purple, etc hair with her but what impressed me most is that even when I asked for one color, she still took her time to dye my roots either with a darker color or just at a later time (idk exactly which) to make sure I don't come out w/ lighter roots than the rest which is how it always came out with any other hair stylists. (You girls have to know what I'm talking about!) It's more work for her but she secretly went the extra mile and I think she's worth every penny! How can you not love her for that kind of consideration for detail!? I definitely can't! read more
