I have been seeing Tee for the last 3-4 years on and off depending on availability and she's one of the best for textured lob cuts as as well as styling. I have not gotten to do highlights with her yet but have gotten roots melts and touch ups and they seem to last a while. She used to work at Tonie's hair salon on Clement before moving her business to a smaller and more intimate location. She tries to accommodate me last minute while I've been living out of state and is fairly easy to reach by text. Her cuts are always on point and she's even fixed bad cuts from other salons I've gotten due to Seattle not having as many good hair stylists who knew the specific point cutting technique I like. I highly recommended her for trendy cuts and color and her prices are reasonable when compared to other hair stylists who charge more but with less than stellar results. Had my first session with Tee over 2 months ago and will be coming back later this month. She did an amazing job on my hair and was able to give me an ashy color like I requested. I received so many compliments and even now after the color has faded out! I'm looking forward to getting the second session done and removing more of the brass out of my hair after years of hair dye and stubborn asian black hair. She listened to what I wanted and gave suggestions based on pictures that I showed her. After she was done, I was a little concerned that the blonde in my hair was too ashy grey compared to the warmer parts of my hair. Surprisingly it grew on me and of course faded out after a couple of washes into more of an ash blonde. Confident that we will be able to accomplish the desired color in this next session, if not, still something amazing that compliments my look. Bleh. When I first walked in, Tee was alarmed that I have pitch black hair. She asked if I had dyed it black, but I told it was my natural hair color. She said it would be hard to dye it, which confused me. You're working with virgin black hair... that's like a brand new canvas for you to paint on! I wanted balayage, but it didn't come out as such. I think the night was getting long and she was getting tired after two hours so she gave up on me. Two weeks out... my hair turned ORANGE. Uhhh I am pretty sure it shouldn't have turned orange if she used the right/enough toner. Whatever, I went and bought more toner and brought my hair back to live myself. It was just a bit annoying to do so. I've gone to another hair stylist with virgin black hair and she was able to turn it platinum blond with NO problem. Therefore, I'm guessing Tee is only good with dealing with damaged hair, where it is easier to dye since it's used to harsh chemicals. I wouldn't recommend anyone with virgin hair to come here. She's not patient enough to do the job correctly. read more

I've been a client of Tee's since 2013 and I'd say she is, hands down, the absolute best of the best! Especially when it comes to a balayage, she SLAYS!!! Before my 1st appointment with her, I was totally unhappy with a balayage I had gotten from an overpriced upscale salon in downtown San Jose. I even had them redo it but still, I was left disappointed. That's when I found Tee. She fixed the "problem" that was on my head and transformed it with just 1 session. Tee is a super skilled make-up artist and hair stylist! She was my go-to girl for my engagement pictures, wedding day, and my cultural wedding celebration. She really takes into consideration your concerns and make-up likes/dislikes so you feel comfortable and of course, beautiful! A little about me, I don't normally wear makeup (at most, eyeliner/eye-shadow and eyebrows) and don't really know much about make-up--and on top of that I have cosmetic allergies that led me to avoid make-up... so this process was extra anxiety-filled for me. I had to do multiple trials with her only because I have really sensitive skin--she was super patient and really only tried products on me that I was comfortable with. In the end, I didn't have any skin reaction to any of her products and I got many compliments from my friends! She is super sweet and approachable and definitely responsive and always on time! For the wedding day, her and her team of two (Sandra and Lina) worked on me, my 6 bridesmaids, 2 flower girls, and 2 mothers. We had a tight schedule due to some cultural traditions so we started Hair/MU at 5am and everyone was done by 8:30-9:00am. She was definitely one of my favorite vendors and I would recommend her to anyone for engagement, wedding, or just for fun! What can I say? Let me tell you sisters! My first experience was incredible! I didn't know what to expect when I showed up to her studio. I was hoping she could do something to fix my ugly grown out super brassy orange hair. I showed her a picture of how I wanted to achieve a grey balayage. Let her know about the past damages or color thats been done to your hair, so she will know how to fix the problem. I was kind of nervous of nervous of how my hair was going to turned out. It better then what I expected! She explained and told me why my hair was so orange and it can't be fully grey until all my orange was out. But I was overly happy with the outcome it still looks grey! My hair doesn't even feel drying like other hair salons. Not only did she fit me into her busy schedule to fix my hair before a big event but she also SAVED me! I've now been going to her ever since. Tee is amazing! I first came to her about half a year ago with crispy hair and aspirations of iridescent blonde. After examining my hair and listening to what I wanted to get to-Tee recommended I wait until my hair was longer so we could cut off all the overprocessed hair and start fresh. She took the time to explain the process and the best approach to keep my hair healthy and get to the color I wanted. That day she recommended I only do a toner to freshen the blonde I already had. That day I left with gorgeous metallic grey that helped to take out all the brassiness from my color. I have commitment issues with hair. It took me years to find someone I could trust to cut my hair, and even now, I'm not sure how set I am with her. So when I walked in with my first appointment with Tee, I feel like I finally found something good. When I met with Tee on Friday night, the first thing she did was get to know me and my hair. I told her about my experiences with my hair (roll out of bed, comb, and run out) as well as what I've done with my hair (yes, that is old grown out dye at the tips). She then asked me what I wanted and walked me through the process. It was educational to learn about the spectrum of hair color as well as the different processes and what they meant (lift is taking away color, toning is adding color). After getting through the basics, she began the entire process. Honestly, if it was me, I totally wished the process was shorter. This is at no fault of the stylist, but I have issues with sitting still and there was a lot of sitting. Tee had magazines, and even let me know that I could take a nap while she continued to paint. Long story short, I walked out with a lovely brown balayage, which is temporary as I'll be seeing her in July to get my second session in. Here's some helpful advice in my favorite format: -Be realistic. During my consultation, Tee was upfront that blonde is hard to achieve on the first time an is dependent on my hair. We were able to get it pretty light the first time, but not where my ideal is. -Trust the process and stylist. Tee could have gone a bit more aggressively with my hair, but I appreciate her putting the integrity of my hair first. Theres no point in having colored hair if its super fried. -Ask questions. I feel like I asked Tee so many. What's the difference between lifting and toning? Can I take a nap? How should I take care of the color? Is it better to dye dirty or clean hair? (the answer is dirty btw) I think I got much more out of the appointment. -She recently converted her in-laws basement into a home studio. It's super cute and I preferred it. There's parking! and much less crazy than clement. -Text her. I wish I had done this. Tee is super responsive and she might have an earlier timeslot blocked off! read more

I've been consistently going to Tee for a little over a year now (every 5 to 6 weeks). She's amazing! Tee is sweet, talented, and easy to talk to. When I first went to her, she chopped my boring long hair into a fun asymmetrical bob. This review is a little delayed as I am already coming up on my second session. Tee was great! She is very, nice, personable and easy going. She was very honest about my color going into the appointment and that I may not get the exact color results that I wanted because of old color. I started with really old honey colored Balayage and wanted to be ashy brown with grey and even showed her pictures of lilac. I am a very particular person and really do not do my hair very often. She was able to take the pictures that I showed her and gave me the perfect blend of the look that I was going for. Even though she immediately was not thrilled about how the overall color turned out I was in love and had no problems. She was able to take by old color and give me the exact combination of brown, grey, with even a little lilac. She has a keen eye for what she thinks will look good but will also give the best results. I will not be having anyone else touch my hair besides Tee! I'm always nervous about finding someone to do anything with my hair and Tee was recommended to me by a friend. I have been coming to Tee for many years now and she always does an amazing job, sometimes she even exceeds my expectations. I use to go from salon to salon having to trial and error, wasting time/money, and depleting my hair health because Asian hair is just that difficult (i guess). Once I found Tee, it was such a relief that someone finally understood how to work with Asian hair and eliminating brassy tones. She's so patient and I appreciate that because I always take the last appointment of the day due to my work schedule and she still seems to give me her all. I've gotten ombre, balayage, purple, etc hair with her but what impressed me most is that even when I asked for one color, she still took her time to dye my roots either with a darker color or just at a later time (idk exactly which) to make sure I don't come out w/ lighter roots than the rest which is how it always came out with any other hair stylists. (You girls have to know what I'm talking about!) It's more work for her but she secretly went the extra mile and I think she's worth every penny!
