A word of caution about this souvenir shop conveniently located right by the docking area for cruise ships. They had several products that were priced three times what they were in one of the souvenir shops over in the main tourist shopping area of Stavanger, which is just a five minute walk away. Thinking that I may not find a pretty scarf that they had at the store anywhere else, I decided to pay what seemed like a lot, but knowing that Norway is a little more expensive, I decided it was okay to splurge. Unfortunately, as we strolled around Stavanger, I saw the same exact scarf at another store, for 1/3 the price. When I asked the owner of the store where it was cheaper why that would be, he pointed out that some scarves were polyester; others were wool. The one I bought was polyester. Clearly Strandbua Souvenir had mis-priced the product. I went back and tried to return it, but was told that I could not. This was clearly a mistake on their part, and they would not help me at all. And, just to make sure that I was not overreacting, as we continued our trip to Oslo, I kept an eye out for more scarves like the one I bought- always at 1/3 the price of the one I purchased at Strandbua Souvenir. Stick to shopping in the main tourist area- you'll save yourself some money. read more
