located next to the parking structure, magasin blaa, is a 3-story shopping center with a few good…read moreshops. 1st floor has a hair salon, eatery, bagel shop, shoe/handbag shop, flower shop, perfume store, and a kiwi food market there's also an area to hang out usually filled with mothers and guardians and a caravan of baby strollers. 2nd floor has some women's clothes shops, make-up shop, lingerie boutique, marimekko, bakery, and more seating as well as access to some outdoor seating on a narrow balcony overlooking the bay. 3rd floor has an array of high-end baby clothing + baby gear (strollers and equipment) shops, and a kitchen gadget store as well as access to the parking structure. if you're parked in the structure, it's nice to walk through this shopping center on your way back to the car. although there's not a whole lot of shops, the few that are there are pretty decent.

I grabbed one of their catalogs and browsed as I walked around the mall and by the time I arrived back at my car I had decided that I had to go back and buy some items. I bought a cute Nordic skater doll for my mother and a typical Christmas elf for myself. The store was packed with interesting items, and many people were browsing the Christmas display so I was glad to grab my stuff and go. I thought the prices were somewhat high but you never see items like this for sale in the US so I didn't mind paying a little extra. The store reminded me of a Pottery Barn and had many items that I would have love to decorate my home with if not for the perils of airplane travel.

The store is part of a large mall with many dining options and a good wine store and grocery store. Try the spicy tuna and a smoothie at Joe and the Juice! Tell them Al sent you. If you shop at Macy's or Nordstrom's or the like, you'll feel at home in H&M. It's amazing that almost everybody speaks either functional or fluent English. Prices are high when you dine or drink, but the prices at H&M are comparable to what you'll find in the States. If you've read The Nordic Theory of Everything, you already know that Norway has a social system, supported by conservatives and liberals alike, that beats the U.S. all to hell because it provides the greatest good (universal health care, tuition free education, parental leave and affordable childcare) that leaves the U.S. crying in its beer. And, of course, things are only getting worse in the U.S. Thank you, H&M.

having an ikea nearby is always convenient. of course there's a whole range of quality within the…read moreikea brand so i can't say i love everything they sell in that sense. there's also a range of styles to chose from although most of it is the contemporary scandinavian design concept available in more affordable prices. apart from furnitures, i like the ikea bedding as well as other household things like certain kitchen/serving items. the ikea restaurant is decent and has a lot of seating. very family friendly. tried the falafel and couscous the other day and for ikea food, it wasn't too bad. the falafels are the smallest ones i've seen. very cute. after the cashiers downstairs there's also of course the hot dog stand if you'd rather grab one and go. for 10kr, the soft-serve ice cream is also a nice treat.

Absolutely loved the selection of knitted winter coats at LMC. Several great styles were on sale…read more(half off) and we were able to get a nice men's coat and a warm and elegant woman's coat for me. If I had an extra luggage then I really would have been in trouble at this store as I saw so many coats that I really wanted to have. I've been wearing the one I purchased since returning home and it's so warm (almost too warm but I shouldn't complain). A great buy and loved getting it half off!
