First, the physical therapy department was wonderful. They did an excellent job in preparing my…read moremother to go home. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience here was not very good. All meals are served in to-go containers. Every meal was cold and very unappetizing. The powdered cream would not melt in a cup of coffee. One night, she dropped her pencil. When I went to pick it up behind the night stand, I found her lipstick. It turned out that it was not hers. Leads me to believe the night stand had never been moved before she was admitted to that room. So apparently, cleaning is at a bear minimum. Another unfortunate event happened the night before she was to be discharged. She fell in her room, somewhere between 10:00 and 11:00 PM. She broke her hip, shoulder, and pelvic bone and had a huge gash on her leg. After spending the night with her in the emergency room and then moved to the ICU, my sister and I went to Heather Knoll to pack up her belongings. (We were scheduled to be there around 1:00 PM, because she was supposed to go home.) Her room had been emptied. The kind folks at Heather Knoll had already thrown all of her belongings into boxes and those boxes had been placed in storage. This happened within 16 hours of her fall. We had no idea where her glasses were and if everything she had at the facility was actually in those boxes. We had to unpack all them. And to top it off, they had taken her walker (even though it had her name on it) to their PT department. The worst part - not one staff member asked us how our mother was! This staff is as cold as they come! We would not recommend this place to anyone.

He is under VA disability and they will pay for his care here but is really sad. Had issues with AIDS lack of communication. Some of the workers are very rude. They they emphasize on how they want for residence to feel like at home that is a big joke. The place is so outdated. The smell is horrible. They talk about the patients having dignity, you see patients in the hallways hanging halfway out of the wheelchair they never changed my father's clothes only on shower day which is two times a week which I think is horrible . I have everything labeled his room to make it convenient for AIDS, but doesn't seem to matter, he tries to do what he can by himself but his short-term memory. It's very difficult for him. At least once or twice a day there is a family member of the there , I change his sheets & do you extra cleanup. I do see them clean rooms, but I never smell any clean. Smell always smells like urine notice the mop the cleaning person was using was filthy dirty , it's very disappointing and heart, wrenching to see people live in that odor, especially when a big percentage of them. This is considered their last home my grandkids do not even like going there because of the odor it makes me very sad. Why can't these companies do better. I feel like the owners of these companies have no idea and I can say 100% they would not live in those conditions themselves. All they are worried about is what kind of money they are pocketing.

I wrote a review just the other day, at which time the owner replied: " WE STRIVE TO PROVIDE TOP…read moreQUALITY CARE AT ALL TIMES. This response is evasive and unacceptable. How could you possibly say that when you have staff on the 7 pm to 7 am sleeping on the job every night. I have pictures on my phone top rover this. And if you provide the care that you claim, I haven't read the first review form others that reflect that. There are absolutely no good reviews listed that would shine a positive light on Devine Rehab & Nursing, period. The fact is, staff here and nursing lack care for patients at all. Last week a woman passed away here and last night another person passed away on my floor. This happening while staff sitting around sleeping. Instead of responding with an evasive and inaccurate response, do something to control incompetent and grossly negligent staff. In my experience here, you keep running out of picc line caps, and, the same cap has been used during my stay here for up to 4 days straight, when those caps are supposed to be thrown away and replaced with a new one every time one is removed. The other night I was informed that the facility had no saline flush for my picc line and another solution was used 4 time to wash my picc line that could have caused me great harm. That solution can not even be used in a picc line without saline. Yet it negligently used in my picc line 4 times. To top it all off I had a nurse tell me the other day that she drained saline from a tube into a cup, drew it up into a saline syringe and washed my picc line with it. Anyone with common sense knows that once that saline left the tube and became air born in a cup, its no longer sterile. Yet Nursing here washed my picc line with it. That " TOP QUALITY CARE?" Absolutely not. Its gross negligents and a total disregard for the health and safety of patients at Devine Rehab & Nursing. Staff sleeping on the job, that "QUALITY CARE?" Absolutely not. What it is is recklessness that cost patients their lives. This place is dangerously out of control. This place should be shut down.

I am very upset with Canal Pointe. I am a local performer. I received a phone message informing…read moreme my service was no longer needed. No reason given. Now, I know people get fired, but most employers have the deceny to make personal contact. And here is the thing, before my last show, I was called and told I had to do a raffle after every song for the residents. This call came two days before the show. I had to completely reorganized my song list (which I did). Now, Michelle is telling me that the resident were complaining about me and yet the residents tell me they love me. Again, I am very confused. I don't see where I deserved the treatment I received. There were other issues: there was an incident of a patient not properly dressed (short shorts no underwear, male) and I could find no one on the staff to help. One patient fell out of her chair and another was demanding to use $2,000 mic and was beligerent when she didn't get her way. Again, no staff present. It is not okay to do this to an outside vendor and then blame them for the problems that were there before they ever came. Michelle made no contact with me the whole time I was there, except for the raffle which she did not follow up on and to leave a firing call on my answering machine. T. M. JUDGE

I wouldn't go here if I were you! Please check a place out first even though they say they are a 5…read moreSTAR facility!!!! This place is a far cry from it! I was there 4 weeks and left sick from dehydration! I was nauseated the entire time and couldn't eat or hardly drink but was given a water pill every day and an extra med was added my last 2 weeks that would dehydrate me too! I was not monitored, no blood work after initial testing and no urine testing to keep an eye on my kidneys. I have kidney disease. There was 1 very caring nurse who tried the hardest to help me and only really 2 good aides that even made the place endurable! I left there sick and I didn't realize how sick I was until I ended up at the hospital the next night! I went for one thing and found out I was very dehydrated and my kidneys were affected! They kept me almost 2 days filling full of fluids before releasing me and then I felt human again! I was abandoned on my bedside commode, sometimes it took some effort to get someone to empty it, when I vomited they just dismissed it and went on after cleaning out the pan and not concerned, out of 4 weeks I got 2 showers, I did get one more the day I left, my bed was changed 2 x's and not straightened up the days I went to therapy, never offered a morning or evening towel and wash cloth to freshen up. They seemed very pleased that I could pretty much take care of myself!! I admit I did not participate in many therapy sessions as I would have liked but I was always sick. But even when I did go, they didn't seem very engaging. My home therapist seems to have a better handle on it. Sorry, I was miserable there and the only thing I can say is I am so glad my stay was temporary because I wouldn't want to have to think that I had to live there and die there!!! This place has a hard time rating stars from me? I don't know what to give it???
