Our home was dark brown and we called New Look Cabinets…read more We are incredibly happy with our new look and how beautiful our home looks now. Frank, the supervising painter was amazing at color and details. He fixed things (drywall patch work) we never even knew needed fixing. We had to change color almost half way through, as one of the painter observed I did not really love the color I chose. So they sent me a free Interior Designer and I consulted with Frank to confirm color choice. He knew to take colors out to make it exactly what we wanted. Chris was so easy top work with and the men were so respectful, clean, and pleasant to have in our home. I can't wait too the next project! A must hire company Ron & Shannon

Our house was 11 years old and the kitchen cabinets needed touching up. The dark stain finish had…read moreminor chips but because of the contrasting darker stain color against the chips we felt something had to be done to bring the overall look back to it's original appearance. I called Tony at New Look Cabinets and he came over with a sample of their work and assurance to make the overall appearance new. Well we went ahead and completed the project as planned. The Kitchen looked great. We listed our house to go on sale the Friday of the long weekend in May and asked for a sign to be put up saying new listing coming. It sold Sunday morning by 8:30am to the first viewer for full asking price. We are so glad we made the right contact with Tony Tran of Newlook Cabinets 403-922-6500. The closing is July9th and we are off to build our dream home on the coast of Nova Scotia. Kent Allaway

I cannot say enough positive things about my experience with Calgary Trusted Cleaners…read more I was looking for a company that did deep cleaning as my home had suffered some water damage and needed to be prepped for a paint and refresh. From my first contact with owner Michael, to follow-up questions and booking with Viktoriya to the unbelievable and extremely efficient skills of Rubie's team (Rubie, Rose, Gloria and Fernesto - i hope i got the names right!!!) It was an amazing experience and I was extremely happy with the results They also offer different levels of cleaning depending on your needs. There was some walls that had to go from dark green to white (see photo) and Rony and his crew did an amazing job covering it. They left the extra paint for any touch ups down the road, my boss already scratched the wall so we're appreciative of the leftover paint to fix it! Highly recommend Hardings, if I can convince my husband to paint our house I'll def be calling on Hardings!

Asbestos Removal and Mold Removal…read more Hired Building Works for asbestos removal from attic and mold remediation in basement. They were not the cheapest quote but they committed to hitting the timelines required to have the work completed before I moved in. Long story short they missed the deadline by nearly a month, did not truthfully communicate project status resulting in increased safety risk for my movers and increased costs to me, the quality of work was lower than expected as I had to request that they finish scope of work that was missed multiple times (and was never completed). And, the most concerning issue is that Alberta OHS shut them down for over a week due to worker safety concerns. They did attempt to make me whole by offering a discount on the project, which covered my additional costs. I appreciate the organization attempt to make this right. However, I would caution working with this organization if there is a potential to increase safety risk to other contractors or you need effective project management to hit specific timelines. I would also encourage future customers to ask a few more questions on their worker safety protocols before hiring Building Works.

Hired for an 18 sq ft fishscale backsplash. About 25% was completed before I cancelled due to…read morevisibly uneven and misaligned spacing. The first response to my concern was "what exactly is the problem?" followed by "it looks great to me" and "that's just the way the sheets are." No effort was made to correct the issue. Spacers were not used, leaving inconsistent gaps. As a result, grout will not properly fill all spaces, and the installed section will need to be torn off and redone if I want a proper finish. Sloppy work overall. After cancellation, I was asked to pay for materials with a 40% markup that had never been disclosed. Mind you this is a straight Rona pick up at retail cost. Settlement was reached only on proportional labour completed and reasonable material cost. Poor workmanship, immediate defensiveness when concerns were raised, and undisclosed charges. Would not recommend.

My experience with Ashlar Painting was about as good as it gets when contracting with any of the…read morebuilding trades. My project was to repaint the entire interior of a recently purchased home. Jed Johnson answered my request for a proposal promptly, met with me at the project site soon after we connected, and sent me a cost proposal when he said I could expect it. While reviewing my project on site, he offered great advice regarding colors, types of paint for various applications, etc. After contracting with Ashlar Painting, Jed kept me informed every step of the way throughout the project and never missed a completion date on the schedule. The workmanship was top notch. Such high praise for a contractor does not come readily from me. Over a 35 year career as an architect and facilities manager, I have dealt with an incredible number of contractors for both small projects (like mine) and for multi-million dollar projects. I've seen (and been in contracts with) the best and the worst of the construction and building trades industry. Ashlar Painting and Jed Johnson are among the best of the many building trades contractors I've worked with over many years, and have my highest recommendation.

Ashlar Painting and Building Services just finished painting our 2-story home in Puyallup. We are…read moreextremely pleased with the look of our home, as well as the craftsmanship and detail of the work that Jed Johnson (owner), and his crew performed. The prep work that was done was exceptional. Jed Johnson is also experienced in construction, as well as working with design builders. His understanding of how a home is constructed makes for a higher caliber of painting professional. Jed was able to help preserve the exterior wood trim, and added additional weatherproofing to our shutters and gables. Home has been caulked to the Nth degree. Most downspouts and all the shutters were removed in order to paint the underlying wood trim. Then as the shutters and downspouts were replaced, the screw holes were caulked for further waterproofing. The wood trim was back brushed, which makes for a smoother and thicker coating of paint, which also will last much longer than sprayed on. Jed and his crew went the extra mile on everything. Jed found several areas where leaks could potentially cause problems and made repairs. For the first time in the history of our home- it is now watertight. The crew was very professional, courteous and hardworking. The guys worked just as hard and consistently even when Jed was not on-site. The estimate for our home was much more reasonable than the bids I had gotten from other contractors. Painting was completed in a timely fashion, when the weather permitted. I highly recommend Ashlar Painting and Building services. Our home now looks better than it did when it was new. We are confident that this work will last for quite a few years and the quality of the materials used will help to protect our investment. Marvin & Debbie H.
