There's a waiting area, the bathrooms are by the elevator, and only two tracks. 1 is outbound, and 2 heads into Boston. Simple. Start heading out when they announce that your train is arriving, about 8 min in advance. Head towards the right if you are Coach bound. Take a seat and the conductor will scan your ticket code and tuck a paper ticket above you. Take it with you if you change seats. If you go past NYC, the crew changes, and every passenger gets scanned again. If you are ADA and need access to one of their accessible seats, there's a way to mention it when buying your ticket, so the conductor will save you a seat in advance. Two bathrooms are available at one end of the Coach car. If the light is on, the bathroom is taken and the door locked. These are roomier than those on airplanes. So are the seats, although they otherwise resemble those found in planes with the tables that fold down and seats that recline back. 120 volt plugs are available, but no screens and no headset jacks, so no music. Stops are announced, so it felt that communication was pretty good on the train and at the station. Coming back and arriving on track 2, we had to exit and head up and over the tracks, where we could go straight into the garage, or take the escalator down by Dunkin Donuts. There's an elevator as well, which will take you to the bathrooms.

There is a trash can on the inbound/Boston side, but no trash can on the outbound side. If it's your first time here, give yourself some extra time so you don't end up on the wrong side. Right now the staircase is closed. So if you are on the wrong side of the track, it will take you an extra 5 mins to get on the bridge overpass to get to the right platform. Be careful when you get on and get off the train, the platform/train is tilted so watch your step as always.

From the parking lot walk towards the bridge onto the other side of the campus. Cross under the bridge and walk along the path (right hand side), along the fence. You will find the train tracks within minutes. Those who have never taken the commuter rail here are some tips that helped me this past summer: - They will collect fees once you board the train. Cash only. - You can sit anywhere you like. This train will take you all the way to South Station if you want to. - When returning from South Station, you will hear the announcement for which track the train will return 10 minutes prior to departure. I heard on the news the other day that there's an app that can tell you ~45 minutes prior to the arrival of the train. Also, DON'T FORGET TO BUY YOUR TICKET AT THE COMMUTER RAIL WINDOW AT SOUTH STATION! This will save you about 3 dollars. There is not much more than a covered bench here for waiting but there is a visible "next train" board that I found not only very helpful, but also very accurate. There is no overhead crossing here, you'll be crossing the tracks at a designated area. If you're headed to the parking lot, then you're waiting for the train to get out of the way before you can cross. For inbound trains, there is a raised platform. There are signs that tell you so, but I did see at least one train rider who didn't see the signs and had to run/jog to get to the boarding area when the train arrived. The station is on the "Franklin" line. For normal runs, it is between Islington (outbound towards Forge Park / 495) and Endicott (inbound towards South Station). On days with Patriots games, there is special service from here that goes outbound to Foxboro and inbound to Back Bay. There are no ticketing machines here that I could see. You can buy your ticket on board (I saw someone do that) or there's an app you can download and use.

There is some parking off of Rte 27 near the underpass under the tracks. The local cops and businesses will tow you if you try to park in a non-commuter rail parking lot. If the the station is open, get your tickets there from the coffee shop inside to avoid a surcharge on the train. Their machine is unreliable sometimes however. Would have more stars if it was open later and had a bit more parking.
